Admit it... early prototypes or not, it is a big mistake to announce a device under one name while the actual model in the device is different; it was a big screw-up! and there's no excuse for that! And what does it matter anyway? The phone is just to ugly for anyone to care about it or its silly name!
its n86 according to nokia themselves
it was suppose to be named n85 8mp in develoment but its final retail name is n86
what u see in pictures are early prototypes
I just wish ppl would rate this with more points.
I have always bought my mobiles, be it my N73, my N82 or even my earlier mobiles based on the points n opinions given in gsmarena.com, but it's bad 2 c the site making an error of naming N85 8 MP as N86 8 MP.
the big photo of this device says n86, while the small photos says n85? provide the correct product name gsm arena.
Rajitt, 17 Feb 2009the rock sounds right.
do u think they might come up with a 10 MP or 12 MP soon?3-5 mp nokia smartphones are great enough for photos.
two ways that the cell phone industry is heading....a c fast media or a powerful camera . nokia is sticking to lower mp's to accomodate all around devices.
Rajitt, 17 Feb 2009the rock sounds right. do u think they might come up with a 10 MP or 12 MP soon?im sure they will after samsung, SE, lg 12 mega pixel party dies down.
Anonymous, 17 Feb 2009Please, all Nokia fanboys.. stop write pages of nonsens. Stop being so conservative and just r... moreare you an id1ot? Samsung, SE, LG and even Apple are behind nokia in the market share. nokia's smartphones are great all around devices. nowadays, i prefer to carry one device in public that can take great pics, can do internet, can make phone calls....my n95.
therock, 17 Feb 2009nokia's strategy is to hold the release of the 8 mp cameraphones. now the attention is all theirs.the rock sounds right.
do u think they might come up with a 10 MP or 12 MP soon?
Ryan4Nokia, 17 Feb 2009NOKIA im still waitin on innovations!!! ... Ur like 8mp too late with this phone ... i better ... morenokia's strategy is to hold the release of the 8 mp cameraphones. now the attention is all theirs.
At first it was probably going to be the N86, but Nokia changed it to N85 8mp, since the camera is the only real difference, other than the uglier design.
It's N85 8mp, not N86 8mp. Look at the live pictures.
GSMArena, get it right! You change the name in every sentence!
Bobby, 17 Feb 2009Actually it's not a flagship model, it' s just a N85 successor ( it's previous name was N85 8m... moreOr perhaps it's something like what N95 8GB was to N95.
Either way I personally feel the mobile looks good n the key pad too is'nt all that bad, but a refreshing change.
Bobby, 17 Feb 2009Actually it's not a flagship model, it' s just a N85 successor ( it's previous name was N85 8m... moreWhy then did this site name it N86?
Do u mean that they r yet 2 come out with the model that has N86 inscribed on it?
Bill, 17 Feb 2009This feels like Nokia just rushed it to market, in order to keep up with Samsung, and not lose... moreyo man, you're from bosnia too. wow, glad to see that bosnia lives too :D
by the way... they are ugly... but they are good ;) :D
Anonymous, 17 Feb 2009ok so Sony Ericsson Idou has a 12MP which will not nesserly be better quality than an 5 or 8MP... moreActually, ALL lenses are NOT carl zeiss quality unless specified as such. Look at lenses spec'd as "sony" lenses. Sony ownes Minolta camera group and as such, these lenses are made by them.
this is a beautiful looking model man i wonder if it's still dual slide
Actually it's not a flagship model, it' s just a N85 successor ( it's previous name was N85 8mp) - it has the same specs as N85 apart from better camera and digital compas. The real 8MP flagship is yet to be announced
C'mon guys, what do u expect when saying Nokia has 2 be innovative?
I'd say they were the first 2 come with a dual slide design, n as far I see it, they really have succeeded with this design (beginning with the revolutionary N95).
So what's wrong in them persisting with this winning formula yet again?
Moreover if you check the white model, and to an extent even the black one, they look real chic, especially with that outer metallic look finish.
