Kev, 19 Apr 2023mine doesnt seem to start . when i plug in into the charger, i get the notification light blin... moreNokia phone has this issue where it would take approximately 12-24hrs to start if the phone's battery was dead for months. Keep it on charger for a day and the phone will turn on.

mine doesnt seem to start . when i plug in into the charger, i get the notification light blinking for a while, the phone vibrates once and thats about it. the screen doesnt turn on, the phone wasnt in use for a very long time. i guess the leds on the screen need a jump start or something. ive also changed the battery. anyone else face this?

In one word, no more social network (no fb, no twitter, no WhatsApp...). We just have a basic app for Telegram (text only). The main problem is its linux version and its related libraries are unfortunately too old now.

Cause I want to know if Email, Noki... moreHi, I use it mainly as a camera and music player, it can recieve and send texts, calls. Mail doesnt work, I tried with yahoo. Nokia maps might work if you have downloaded maps and use it offline, i cant, not sure about facebook, and whatsapp. You can change language to your liking, thats not a problem. Type openrepos.net, they have some apps, that can be useful,torchlight, etc.

Cause I want to know if Email, Nokia Maps or any kind of navigation, facebook and any client of WhatsApp is still running in these days of 2022?
And if language German is usable?
I would be happy to receive any kind of reply.

If they chose android over windows mobile they would still be making phones today. I was 11 I think when they chose windows and I was pissed because even I could see that it was a big mistake. I knew android was the correct choice because samsung chose android and were thriving

Buy it if you are a royal fan. otherwise; if you buy it, you will be very sad that there is not enough support for such a wonderful device with a high potential OS. I keep looking at my beautiful white N9 with all my love since the first day, everyday, and I feel so sad that I have to use another device to keep it going. but my love for N9 continue.

Jsut imagine, what if Nokia persisted on developping Meego devices instead of shifting to Windows; we would have much harder competiton in OS market and maybe eighter iOS or android wiouldnt be in the market at all. such a big potential was wasted in the hands of unenlightened management. I am so sad for people of Finland to loose such a big brand to trojan hourse of USA

Whenever I come to this page I remember how dumb decision was to leave MeeGo OS. It was ahead of everything at that time and still they chose Windows. Now their name is behind the most generic phones out there.

In 20221, most of internet sites require TLS 1.2, therefore stock browser fails vey often.... A possible workaround is to install Opera Mini. Go to openrepos.net, download PhoneMe (java vm) plus Opera Mini 8 for Harmattan. On your n9, first enable installation from unknown source (in settings...). Second, activate Developper mode. Restart it. Use this command line for installing both (first phoneme then operamini):
sudo aegis-dpkg -i nameoffile.deb
Note : Default Root pwd is rootme.
Otherwise, go to talk.maemo.org. You'll get all explanation here.
