If they chose android over windows mobile they would still be making phones today. I was 11 I think when they chose windows and I was pissed because even I could see that it was a big mistake. I knew android was the correct choice because samsung chose android and were thriving
Vishnu, 27 May 2021I want it bro.. is it available? Buy it if you are a royal fan. otherwise; if you buy it, you will be very sad that there is not enough support for such a wonderful device with a high potential OS. I keep looking at my beautiful white N9 with all my love since the first day, everyday, and I feel so sad that I have to use another device to keep it going. but my love for N9 continue.
Jsut imagine, what if Nokia persisted on developping Meego devices instead of shifting to Windows; we would have much harder competiton in OS market and maybe eighter iOS or android wiouldnt be in the market at all. such a big potential was wasted in the hands of unenlightened management. I am so sad for people of Finland to loose such a big brand to trojan hourse of USA

Think about it, you have MeeGo-powered phones for people who like Linux and Windows Phone-powered phones for people who like Windows.

Whenever I come to this page I remember how dumb decision was to leave MeeGo OS. It was ahead of everything at that time and still they chose Windows. Now their name is behind the most generic phones out there.
In 20221, most of internet sites require TLS 1.2, therefore stock browser fails vey often.... A possible workaround is to install Opera Mini. Go to openrepos.net, download PhoneMe (java vm) plus Opera Mini 8 for Harmattan. On your n9, first enable installation from unknown source (in settings...). Second, activate Developper mode. Restart it. Use this command line for installing both (first phoneme then operamini):
sudo aegis-dpkg -i nameoffile.deb
Note : Default Root pwd is rootme.
Otherwise, go to talk.maemo.org. You'll get all explanation here.

- Integrated Developper Mode with SSH access and plenty of optional tools. Easy to connect to the SDK (Qt Creator)
- Easy to root, very opened OS
- Plenty of communication protocol (nfc, bluetooth, upnp/dlna, wifi, 3g, usb-mtp)
- Plenty of sensors (ambient light for automatic brightness, proximity, orientation, rotation, compass, gps)
- Multiple virtual keyboards.
- And still an active community with an alternative app store (openrepos.net) !
Vishnu, 27 May 2021I want it bro.. is it available? Yes, you may look for on Ebay. Then go to maemo.org forum for flashing and configure it.

I think Nokia should come with Meego OS based smartphone.
i have this phone, but currently has hardpress power button that i cannot boot...
very intuitive swipe gestures...
meego is highly optimized for this phone as other os are laggy on it (based on videos i found on youtube where some random people installed an android custom rom)...
compact and no nonsense, too ahead of its time...

-All gesture controls (Knock knock Apple!)
-Unibody design

Mughal, 28 Mar 2020I want to buy Nokia n9 i really like the phone
I remember when I first saw this phone. I was never obsessed this much on another phone. Beautiful from every aspect.
It would be great if this phone, along with other touchscreen phones like Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic, N8, and the like are reborn with Android. The design varied so much, unlike nowadays phones.
How I wish this device could boot Sailfish OS. I'd buy one again and DIY it.
