Thanks to all those who are trying very hard to bring a stable ICS on the nokia n9.
AnonD-32877, 12 Apr 2012Anyone knows when P.R1.2 will be available in South Africa?
Had my Vodacom branded N9 unbranded by Nokia service in Cape Town a few months ago. After that I could upgrade to 1.2 easily OTA. So I suggest you contact Nokia service to do the job for you.
Im on PR1.2
Nokia Drive and map works seamlessly in Singapore, but do remember to switch on GPS, WLAN, 3G options for faster satellite lock in
Camera capturing not as fast as iphone4s, but do just fine
sms sound feedback lags 1 sec after you sent
firefox is visibly lagging when it is used to load taxing pages, but it is a wonderful alternative to the in built browser, it displays web in a different format
battery performance kinda let down here. last 1 day if using 3G/WLAN intensively, last almost 3 days with minimum internet usage
cant send mp3 via bluetooth/NFC
document viewer is nice/useful for words, pdf
facebook interface is the worst feature for n9
Pls can those pals having Australian product code 059L689 tell me whether they having their PR1.2 softwqre update? pls let someone tell me
The best best phone Nokia ever made. Love it, beautiful ui, easy to handle and learn, very intuitively. Best design in my opinion. Unfortunately Nokia want continue on the platform... But maybe they change their mind...

AnonD-252, 11 Apr 2012That did not answer my question, can I use the apps and games I already have bought from Googl... more first of all, N9 was made for meego not android. you can't ask for more since ICS was just an alternative UI on the N9. right now, not all apps are possible to be installed. all you have to do is to wait for further developments. the only good thing right now is the fact that it can boot to ICS which makes meego-android fans happy.

It is pointless to waste hardware-memory installing ICS on N9 if I can not use any of the apps on Google Play, because I want to do more than just look at the ICS user interface on my N9. The whole point of Android on N9... is all the apps and games in Google Play!
Adobe Flash on N9 still is not as good as on Android, and office editing is still not as good as on Android!
My old S2 can also dual-boot with new kernel from xda, maybe I can soon use MeeGo... on my dual-core... S2, unfortunatly Apple will not allow dual-boot iOS on my S2!

It is good to google for app you need as internal Nokia Store browser works not so good. You also can use Alien Dalvik which allow to use Android software as native software directly in Nokia N9 MeeGo. And last but not least, because Nokia N9 is able to do just miracles you can do this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55_Tm0QLYlY.
have you red the news regarding lumia 900,s connectivity issue and the new update fixing it to be released immidiately..... plus all lumia bought priorto the release of the said fix update wouldbegiven a rebate of 100$ regardless ofyour unit beeing affected by the connectivity or not..... damn nokia and microsoft is seriously courting the market..... nokas going all out with windows platform...... nice strategy..
i do hope they keep meego ontheir firmwares..... nokia continue supporting meego please.....
excuse my ignorance, but why do Windows Mobile not support Java? Who would want a Cell that is unable to load java based websites like marketmakers? Just do not get it

Can I use the Smart Keyboard Pro that I like from Google Play on N9?
ICS on N9 is useless if I can not use the apps and games from Google Play, including Adobe Flash...!
I WANT MY NOKIA N9!!, 10 Apr 2012Mr E would reply for your question following: "...we are windows you will be assimilated ... moreexactly.........^_^
nokia said its gonna discontinue meego but if its community shows high activity nokia wont have any choice but to hold on to meegoand probably continue its project......
I own an N9. I will definitely renew it if Nokia releases an upgraded model like the Iphone.
The only thing i dislike about Meego is having to push the back button in the settings and in the camera settings. Its paved in the bottom left corner so you have to stretch to press. they should enable Swype to go back instead of pressing buttons.
