How can a 1ghz single core meego phone outperform and almost no lag compared to a dual core 1.2ghz+ android phone? I mean cant you people understand how much does the OS of a device means compared to its pointless hardware if the hardware cant make it super smooth.

Savor, 24 Oct 2011The way I see it, if you want a better OS, go with the N9. If you want to have a better future... morethat's a great post, and I like the comparison with Dreamcast quite a bit... great device, just didn't come at the right time to establish a firm position in the market. the N9 is smooth as butter. I really don't want to change it for anything else down the road, I'd just like the same thing with slightly better specs when I'll need a new phone... but oh well :(
AnonD-39129, 23 Jan 2012Nice Phone & Da Design Is Good,But Nokia Not Really Good Phone Comparing To HTC & Sams... moreIts obvious that Nokia made a mistake by ditching the Meego.....but ur statement is certainly not true about nokia not making/adding new features.....name some features that HTC, sumsung added in the mobile world.......they either copied(steal) or in wide sense borrowed from the mother OS Symbian.....get ur facts right before making some comment..........
Nice Phone & Da Design Is Good,But Nokia Not Really Good Phone Comparing To HTC & Samsung They Really Need To Change The OS & Make New Features
sound recording on Nokia N9
I have to say some halleluja here brothers, for the navigation/maps on N9. Slow and unresponsive/defective maps was one of the main reasons i had to reluctantly let go of my N900 15 months ago. Im happy to see that N9 has superfast megasmooth maps, so at least one thing is better on N9 than N900.
Still, Ovi Maps isnt greatest in detail for maps and satelite photos unless you live in a western world big city or other center-of-the-world place. And the name of the resuce is CloudGPS, this is a must-have for N9, and its free from Ovi Store. Set it to use Google Hybrid and you'll have a better maps experience than on any dualcore Super-Plus Android teen idol phone.
Anonymous, 21 Jan 2012Hey guys i had my N9 for 3 weeks now the phone is just awesome
the swiping i just amazing t... moreAs Mariusmssj said, but if that doesnt work you need to install Nokia Softwareupdater. And dont waste time with Nokia Link if you are on Windows XP, just search for softwareupdater and install only that one.
The software download will be much bigger when using softwareupdater, 1.1GB, a fairly fast connection is an advantage. Good news for users with slow connection is that the download will resume after interruption.
my N9 only lasted 26 days, i lost all of my contacts, messages and photos. the alarm tone is louder than the ring tone on it's loudest setting. the touch screen was intermittent at best. it was slow. and it would have been nice to have a memory card so you dont lose everything. i tried a factory reset and no better. took it back to supplier and they also said it was acting strange and sent it back to supplier. i have now been without my phone for 30 days while they work out what is wrong with it... sorry nokia i might try a samsung now...
