Why nokia does not make more such phones? While nokia losing its glamour in global cell phone market even making the best hardware? Nokia only would be survived if nokia go with meego and adopt android. Nokia have to understand what people want. Designing android phones like samsung & htc nokia would be able to catch the large smartphone market & improving the meego they can design the best device ever. symbian can be used at low price touch phones. If nokia takes these steps they easily hold the maximum percent of smartphone market. They need to design the smartest ones, not a lot. But in all price range for all.

but anyway, i do not get any notification of apps being updated as they used to on symbian devices, how can i fix that??

AnonD-27028, 02 Jan 2012i m not here to spread rumours. get your head straight!! but i remember few weeks ago people b... moreThose 'leaks' were wrongly interpreted by incompetent bloggers to be the PR 1.2, but it was actually the PR 1.1.1 (v22.2011.44.2) that adds a proper Arabic support to the PR 1.1, and is available only for devices with product codes that target the Arab markets (here's a list of those: 059L6B8, 059L6B5, 059L6B7, 059L6B6, 059N2D9, 059J217, 059J228, 059K133, 059K1R0, 059M5V1, 059J218, 059J229, 059K135, 059K1R1, 059M5V2, 059J219, 059J230, 059K136, 059K1R2, 059M5V3, 059J223, 059J231, 059K137, 059K1R3, 059M5V4). No other product codes will receive that update because they don't need it.

PR 1.2 is still not feature-frozen (expected in the following weeks) so, apart from nightly builds, it is not available even for developers with N950s, so it technically does not exist yet. As for hell-a-lot of time, name one other platform that took less than two months to release a major update (especially the one adding a lot of features and fixing 1000+ bugs) - so far, updates for the N9 were everything but slow, I wish other platforms would follow their example!

As for the fixes and features themselves, you can follow live what's happening @ http://meego.gitorious.org/meegotouch/libmeegotouch/commits/master - there are commits almost every single day, you just have to wait a bit until they stabilize everything and push a proper update.

AnonD-252, 31 Dec 2011If Maemo and MeeGo really was as "good" as you blind Nokia fans think it is, then ev... moreTC, you clearly DO NOT KNOW what multitasking is!! I am a developer, so I know that Android do not real multitask applications, but N9 does!
Manufacturers uses Android because was the first to be given to all for free!!! THAT is the only reason why!!! If MeeGo/Harmattan will be popular because of N9, then they maybe will consider it, but it is a little hard to start over again with another OS, and Harmattan was developed to be a NOKIA brand! So, does not matter if Maemo/MeeGo/Harmattan will be delivered only by Nokia, it can be no. 1 (theoretically) as Symbian was in the past!!
