In 2005 i bought an Iaudio X5 ("mp3-player"). It had a low-resolution color screen, and 20 GB HDD and supported all important audio formats (MP3, WMA, FLAC,WAV, asf and OGG Vorbis).

I was very sad when I broke the internal battery (only runs on mains) after ruough handling in the military). I have found no close match (worth paying for) in temrs of specs and it has been even harder in terms of finding it in a phone (because, who wants to have TWO gadgets in his pocket if there is ONE that has it all?).

N9 supports ogg vorbis, FLAC (lossless audio) AND Dolby Digital plus! This (and the fact that it is actually a superb smart phone too) made me order the 64Gb version and I am dying for the package to come...

(I have been doing OK with the Nokia 5800 Gun Black and a 16 GB MicroSDHC this far but running out of memo)

AnonD-10458, 18 Sep 2011One question for u, what is avarage life of nokia mobile as compair to nearly all other mobile... moreWell, SGSII is better in everything than NN9 (I might be wrong, 'cause I never finished reading the specs :P). But if you look at my comment, I said: "almost everything", 'cause I thought of your notion. And I do agree with you. But I am too spoiled to use a phone for 5 years. I never use a phone longer than 1 year (except for NN8. I used it longer than a year and still am using it), after a year of SGS (I'm not talking about older history), I bought SGSII. Acording to the news, SGSIII might come at summer (which is a year after SGSII). I'm not sure about the service center of Samsung. Seemed good enough for me. Well, Symbian OS seems good enough for others while I still get frustrated using it. Don't think I hate Nokia and all, I even like Nokia (almost as much as I like Android), the only thing I hate about Nokia is Symbian OS (mentioned why), I just like joking around. (The owner of this comment has a name now :D, with all the respect for Nokia and Android and high disrespect for Apple :) )

Nice look. I really would like Nokia start using android or at least do totally revamp on the Symbian OS.

No matter at present samsung is doing good but it is for sure that in another 2to3 years samsung users will switch back to Nokia because of samsungs poor quality phones whic don last for 2years without any repair and a 100% battery wearout. How many of samsung users are using 1year old battery and its still workin fine? My samsung phone started to give problems in 1.5years of usage. Signal suddenly drops to zero while speakin and call disconnects, battery backup has reduced by 60%. My nokia is a masterpiece whic still works fine even it s 2 year old and no battery replacement, dropped it many times. Nokia is known for its durability and build quality and now atleast with severe loss in market share nokia is working more on quality.

its not about the OS that make nokia fly down and kicked out from the throne...

I mean look at the spec...

A thousand apologies.....the stated pixel density of 251 is correct, based on the 854 * 480 screen resolution.

Greetings to all! I'm puzzled about the tech specs for the N9. The screen resolution is given as 854 * 480 px resolution. This implies an image aspect ratio of 16:9. However
                              9/16 * 854 = 480.375
Surely they won't put 0.375 of a pixel on the screen?
                              I wonder why they didn't give a screen resolution of 864 * 486
                              9/16 * 864 = 486 exactly! No need to fractinate a pixel!.
Maybe the gazetted figure is just an approximaton!

Furthermore the given ppi is well off. It is 242 ppi.

nokia has more than 5yrs life, they uses higher quality materials in there products, but samsung has less than 3ys. And samsung service center gives horribley very bad experience.

[deleted post]Okay... I understand that NN9 was compared to Shaking. But iPhone4 is better than NN9??? The dumbest thing I have heard all day!!! :D Compared to today's smartphones iPhone 4 is WEAK! 0.5GB RAM against 1GB( soon 1.5GB), 1GHz CPU against DUAL-core 1GHz( some have 1.5GHz. Soon will,( maybe) have QUAD-core 2.0GHz). There are lots of more things I should mention but we all got the point. :) iPhone 5 won't even save these... Apple. Can't play fair, huh? Have to sue everyone who made a black rectangle shaped phone that has a home button in the middle ..... Almost every smartphone looks like that!!! Apple team is like an immature child... All 'cause they couldn't beat Android. Go Android!!! :D( This comment was written by the same guy who wrote the one about NN9 vs SGSII. With high disrespect to Apple. :) )

Neilamezhatsu, 17 Sep 2011See my predictions has come true, Nokia N9 has reach number One position today at7.30 pm 17/9/... moreBeating Galaxy SII? You wish... Just 'cause SGSII and NN9 BOTH have 1GB Ram and a dual-core CPU( tough SGSII has a bit faster one) doesn't mean NN9 is better. Dang, look at other things. Almost everything else is better in SGSII. Even the camcorder is better in SGSII. The battery is more powerful. The screen is better. (Plus it's not released yet.) What made you say NN9 beat SGSII??? Probably hard to admit that Nokia can't reach Samsung or other Android devices? Whoops! Look at that! :D SGSIII is coming out. Nokia, make a new phone to catch up! While your current isn't released yet. Must be hard for Nokia. :S Go Android! :D (There was no disrespect for Nokia in this comment. Just a joke. The only thing we should disrespect is Apple! They have no self-respect and shouldn't expect others to respect them)
