N9 is a Qt enabled device. As far as i know there are more than 300,000 Qt developers worldwide. http://www.telecoms.com/16735/nokia-brings-qt-to-symbian-maemo/
Qt is a cross platform tool that you can write the code once and deploy to multiple platforms such a maemo, meego, android, symbian, linux distros, windows, mac, and now next billion of s40 series of Nokia.
meego is linux, so even if Intel did reduce contributions to MeeGo, MeeGo is not Intel or Intel’s. It’s a open source project under the Linux Foundation. meego will as long as linux live, because it has a wide community support. Let me clarify you something too. Intel is not backing away meego. it was a lie that rumoured around Internet. GSmarena brought the news in some way that could confuse you. but to make it more clear just prefer this link. http://mynokiablog.com/2011/09/02/intel-backing-away-from-meego-intel-says-theyre-still-committed/
Why i buy N9?
1. First of all it is full linux OS.
2. It is Qt enabled. The community is currently working on useful Qt apps for meego harmattan.Thousands of Qt apps are already made for symbian, means later devs can deploy to meego with a little modification. Moreover N9 comes with loads of useful apps out of the box.
3. It runs meego harmattan which is unique in the terms of ui and ux.
4. Easy to use. Just a swipe away. Fast and smooth (Qt Qml powered which a light weight language in Qt)
5. Design of the device is unique and beautiful that everyone agrees.
6. For style and fashion/ show off./ To be special in the society.
8. For browsing.
9. To listen to music.
10. never to sell it later, just own it forever. coz it is a beauty. :)
there are some other reasons too,
Budychecker, 11 Sep 2011no stereo speakers? and only micro sim ?It has stereo headset speakers. moreover it can decode dolby digital plus sound both on headsets or TV-out.
It's so hard to decide which color I should choose. They all look beautiful :(. First I wanted the magenta, now I'm considering the blue or black *seufz*. Wish I could have them all haha
symbian fan, 10 Sep 2011do not worry price will comes down . as n8 E7 X7 etc... do not forget this is nokia not samsu... morebuying n8 or e7 is just waste of money sybion os really sucks. still i don.t know how meego performs. there are rumors that nokia quits intel cooperation on meego so the apps for the phone is very doubtful
Anonymous, 10 Sep 2011 n9 is nice model of nokia but a price which is specified for n9 by nokia is very high accordi... moredo not worry price will comes down . as n8 E7 X7 etc... do not forget this is nokia not samsung or htc everydays release new devices :( and stupid price
n9 is nice model of nokia but a price which is specified for n9 by nokia is very high according this features that n9 has
high cost is a big reason why n9 wil not selling too much
nokia have to deduct the price of n9
because there are so many samsung galaxy models launched in the market 'and the price is similar as n9 but the features of galaxy is superb and advance

timizn5, 10 Sep 2011still looks like s40 or s60 nokia,, looks old skul,,Are we looking at the same phone? o.O!
No doubt, 09 Sep 2011Meego will continue http://blog.gsmarena.com/intel-hasnt-given-up-on-meego-looking-for-a-pa... moreYeah, but that's Meego, not Nokia's Harmattan. The Nokia N9 has nothing to do with intel. Nokia even ditched the intel 1.2ghz atom processor that was supposed to come in the N9/N950 and went back to using the TI

san7d7man, 09 Sep 2011i am a fan of nokia product since ever but it keep desapointing me since they launched the n90... moreNow you are lying. You don´t own a N900.
Gosh, what is wrong with people.
N900 is very live indeed. The N900 is nothing compare to N9.
N900 is a geek phone. N9 is for the masses that doesnt want to be geeky.
i am a fan of nokia product since ever but it keep desapointing me since they launched the n900 i own one it is very good but they didnt support it and now they introduced a very powerful good phone n9 but still they killed it they want to stay with symbian and wp7 well symbian has died two years ago and wp7 htc for now has a great wp7 with special features and still i didnt give up on nokia but when i saw the samsung note well forgive me nokia you better introduce a very unique phone ( and support it not like n9 ) and you could keep your fans but if not guess youll be dead by the end of next year
Anonymous, 08 Sep 2011See here guys the samsung fanboys and their employees ve started minus voting the n9 the ratin... morewait till sammy produce mob phones looking like the n9... r'member how sammy is sued by iphonyy coz of copycatting.. who know... wanna keep my fingers crossed... just kidding..
eagle3, 09 Sep 2011N950 would suit most of your requirements, BUT only for developers. It looks similar to N900 Thanks eagle3 for the suggestion.
Do u think Nokia ll ever produce such a phone for general public ?
As the news came that meego will be supported by intel but nokia is showing no interest in it but in wp7. I think nokia is making a mistake by not supporting meego- hartmann. From the (n9) video review it looks that meego has more potential than ios, android and wp7. It's just my opinion. May be nokia's team knows better than meego lovers.
Hope to get a n950 for myself
5.3" screen galaxy note, eh! we expect Nokia too comes out with above size phones of high pixels resolution in the next version . Pliz, Nokia move forwards, remain stagnant not 4 Ur fans sake.
Your GPRS/EDGE CLASS 33 scope for 4G IP is still at the top position, keep it up ......
