AnonD-11935, 07 Aug 2011i am not talking about n9 capabilities i already know and already said that its better than ip... morethe n9 will support all android applications through the alien dalvik which could be dowloaded from the android app store or ovi store...
Good phone and a lot of potential. I hope Nokia will use it right, support, and develop this platform further. They won't have another chance.
Back in December 2009 I've purchased N900. At that time Maemo 5 had unsurpassed web browser with full Flash support, excellent Skype integration with video (!) calls, and unrivaled multitasking capabilities. Other software was also promising.
However, instead of extending Maemo 5 potential, Nokia has limited it to a single product and decided to use Symbian for N8, flagship model of 2010. For that reason premium hardware of N8 was crippled with Symbian's (totally) unusable web browser.
To conclude, Nokia already had an in-house product which could compete with Android or iOS. They just failed to notice the potential of Maemo 5 and focus on updates and further development. This caused a lot of users to lose faith in company.
The N9 and Meego are now a big test for Nokia. This may be a last chance for Nokia to develop an original, in-house OS. Failure would lead to far-reaching consequences - shift from innovative to generic company.
Nokia has restored some of my faith in the company. This is a beautiful phone and the Meego OS looks to be as intuitive as iOS. No offense to Windows 7 but I dislike Windows. If only Nokia has chosen to develop Meego quickly as Symbian's successor instead of going forward with Symbian 3 or using Win 7. Clearly they already have the neccessary OS. They just need to create the neccessary alliances with app developers or better yet, instead of competing with their own App store (OVI store), inked an alliance with Google to get their Android APP market (Not the Android OS though). I am certain the NOKIA folks will still work magic with their battery life on the N9. They have always been able to maximise efficiency with NOKIA battery life.

It is really nice, but:
1. Can you switch the battery when you are on the move or must you charge it up when battery is emty?
2. I miss a slot for a hot swop (as in the Nokia E6) SDHC-card as it is much faster to transfer files than connecting by USB.
Android...sucks
In a nutshell, when the malware detects that your banking app or e-mail client, for example, is running, it can launch an identically-looking pop-up app asking for your credentials. What makes things worse is that the execution of the pop-up app can happen so fast that the user would probably never realize what has happened until it is too late. The malware could even install itself as a service and run seamlessly in the background even after the phone is rebooted.

NOKIA, please, you just have to stay.
Peeps, why wish that nokia should die?
To ALL android fanboys, if nokia fails and dies off, I bet you,
there will be no smartPHONESanywhere in the world.
NOKIA has to stay, nokia is innovative, nokia sets the pace for smartphone hardware innovations.
Your critics are welcomed, critisize nokia constructively.
Think of the world, a world without NOKIA, will you really like it?
Right now, its all manufacturers, all fanboys, against NOKIA and NOKIA fanboys. Mark my world, we will wish Nokia never died if they do.

Its a bit unusual to place the camera there but if you think about it, it does make sense. Because you are always holding the camera below the level of your, your eyes will be looking down all the time and look at the bottom of the screen. So the camera actually captures you looking straight into the screen, whereas if its placed on the top, the camera captures you looking down.
Quite an innovation isn't it?
