ANKESH, 30 Jul 2011Nokia Wake Up. .It's better to improve symbian instead of trying new O.S. It show's you are lo... morepartially agree. its better to go with android if they are going to switch OS. Nokia is the biggest phone brand name historically...android has clearly killed the market. put the 2 together and there could be magic!

ya'll should check out a post on mynokiablog.com there is a post of somebody emailing elop and speaking about meego....may be a hoax but its worth a read:

            Hi Stephen,
            I have a few questions.
First, i have no definitive answer on whether or not the second button on the side (beneath volume) is the Power/Screen Lock button. Can you confirm this?
Secondly, I have heard Australia will be the first market to launch the device, is this true?
Thirdly, Can you confirm whether or not Meego – Harmattan (or the N9 itself) will continue to get support in the coming years?
Finally, Why kill off MeeGo when it has the potential to be better then WP and iOS? Is it due to past loyalties?

            Thank you for your time,
            Michael

            Hello there,

Thanks for your note. The second button on the side is indeed the power/screen lock button. We are not confirming the sequencing of markets, as they each have unique requirements that must be considered and it is hard to predict the precise order as we go through various national certification programs. The N9 will be supported by Nokia in the years to come to ensure customers are well served. And finally, elements of the N9 will live on in the future, although we are deliberately not sharing all details, although we have noted that elements of industrial design, user interface and the development environment are of particular interest. In our strategic assessment, we determined that the MeeGo effort could not quickly enough deliver us a range of solutions across price points, radio technologies, etc. for us to effectively compete, so we had to make an alternative decision.

            Regards,

            Stephen

Nokia have been working on it since a long time and there was a nokia device on this os. Yes wp7 is new os but many companies are using it in their phones so how does it indicate that the are loosing. Every company use new os

[deleted post]Yes, you're right. However, you can't watch 4 videos simultaneously, so its power is useless. And your dual-core processor will already be outdated in 4 months' time, whereas the N9's UI will remain original forever.

I know this is going to be the most exciting OS ever. Nokia nourish the OS, you are on the way back to top. Try to miinimize production of tiny phones, as most people will wish they have a bigger screen phones, trust me I've been there.

May be SAMSUNG, LG, MOTOROLLA, HTC can start to adept to the new OS by getting rights from NOKIA. This OS will sell unconditionally. Micro sim card slot is not attractive, its a nuisance. just like my IPHONE 4 and IPAD.

upal cuetbd, 31 Jul 2011hi dude who says you that symbian is not nokias. Let you know that symbian is a part of nokia... moreSymbian is currently maintained by nokia.
Many other manufacturers including sonye got a major share in the corporation.
Thats how se launched several symbian phones the last one being vivaz the prev. year.

As you said, the decision to go along with symbian was right, even after symbian3 and anna how is nokia losing its market share day by day?

Coz symbian can never reach up to the performance by an android.

Its better nokia stay with meego.
Wp7 is going to be further tragedy.
And those who support microsoft alliance, google sendo.

I think nokia has last position in smartphone catagory nokia got 1ghz processor now while other brands have 1ghz processors in middle levels mobiles. Only + point is meego os after that nothing awesome.why nokia afraid of put faster hardware in their mobiles?
