Why Nokia don't run Android -
"He (Stephen Elop) tried to negotiate a deal with Google to run Android, but Google refused to give the world's biggest phonemaker any advantages over its smaller partners, meaning Nokia's corps of 11,600 engineers would have next to no ability to add their own innovations to Google's software."
[deleted post]My friends if you dont like a mobile firm stop buying it. That would de the telling punishment. But calling names and maligning it would serve no purpose at all. I am afraid. Besides we all make mistakes in life. And we learn and improve from it. There is nothing wrong with nokia for trying to improve.

And what according to you is best mr.spammer, posting the same over and over?
when u think it is going 2 b released?! and i also want 2 know the price? who knows?!
Lets get some perspective.
whats great about the n9 is not that it runs meego, its the UI and QT. The UI is nokias property and is probably written in QT. Elop has stated severally that nokia intends to advance on that UI in subsequent device. That can't be on WP and neither on s40 as it would require hardware that won't fit in the range.
I am convinced nokia is working on a new os with QT compatibility as at core. why else do you think they made a whole manual on the n9 UI?
Now, one would ask why didn't they just develop symbian. two reasons
- to avoid a transition phase
- to avoid the trouble of reparing a broken brand
I don't think this was the plan initially though. I believe nokia intended to use meego as their back up plan against WP but the partnership with Intel made things slooow... Elop must at some point concluded that nokia had the staff to create a disruptive os of their own and channeled some resources in that direction. Probably some of the billion(s) they got from microsoft. Its too late to back out of the microsoft deal by now and i personally don't see any reason too.
As for the n9, that nokia doesn't intend to release future meego devices doesn't hurt it and shouldn't affect a persons desire for the device.
- the UI would be featured in subsequent devices hence there would be a succesor.
- it has QT support and all its apps would be written in Qt hence it would be compatible with apps for symbian and whatever new devices nokia pumps out.
- Nokia never said they won't support device. They always support their devices. It would get the necessary software updates.
malik, 01 Jul 2011now im really confused abt nokia meego or WP7.. WP7 is the long term strategy but i kinda like... moremaybe you can have a HDMI output on the n9. Like the radio r/t u need the software to make it work. Maybe there'll be a software that enables the micro USB output to become a HDMI output provided if u got the micro USB to HDMI adaptor.
i reely like it but tha ptoblem is that its have billtan beatry same like n8 our e7 some time mobile gatting hang than we have to go for sarvice center a any salution for this problem then its parfect device.
[deleted post]Have you forgotten to take your medicine? Nokia has been the Smartphone king for many years, and only in the last few years there is some good competition. Apple & Samsung are doing well now, but in my mind this N9 and their new WP7 devices will really kick some ass. :) Dont forget, Google is going to be screwed because of patent litigation from 45 (!) different companies. They are done for.
