AnonD-252, 02 Jul 2011The article does not change the fact that Nokia could have choosen Android and used Harmattan ... moreYou talk as if you can run nokia better than Elop. What he is doing is the best thing to do. Although android would have been better for nokia, i being a nokia fan still won't buy a nokia android just because Samsung and Htc are doing a far better job (with added experience). Windows phone 7 is a better OS compared to android. The only thing driving android is their apps.
And the article was very informative. I guess you didn't even try to go through it. Nokia was forced not to take android by google itself, in the sense that they didn't allow nokia the same previeledge as they do to samsung or htc. Nokia can now at least stand out amidst the crowd.
In my opinion, the best OS is android. Then comes Windows phone 7. Apple isn't an option because they lack variation in their products.

Have you forgotten to take your medicine? Nokia has been the Smartphone king for many years, and only in the last few years there is some good competition. Apple & Samsung are doing well now, but in my mind this N9 and their new WP7 devices will really kick some ass. :) Dont forget, Google is going to be screwed because of patent litigation from 45 (!) different companies. They are done for. http://goo.gl/m4Tys

It is a weak excuse to say that Google did not allow Nokia to customize Android because HTC proves that even Nokia could customize Android and add features exclusive only for Nokia-buyers! Nokia should have choose Android, but Elop was to focused on only WP7 because Elop he himself had put his "heart and soul" into Microsoft for many years before he came to Nokia. Nokia desperatly needed change, but NOT WP7!

Take your time to read it and try to put yourself on Elop's shoes and ask yourself what would you do under the same situation.
