He... moreYeah, I'm aware it uses qt, so the S^3 qt apps are likely to work with little to no optimization anyways. I'm not really worried about that, more about official support like software updates.
I don't personally really use apps for anything on my N8, don't expect that to change on my future phones either.

He pointed to them continuing with the ideas n interface of the n9. The are very probably working on a new platform. A succesor to the n9 with similar ui but running neither meego nor wp.
It really shouldn't matter to a potential n9 buyer whether or not nokia plans to mainstrean its os. It supports qt so it won't get any less apps than it would otherwise plus theres the developer community.

wish it next update to run flash player 10.2 and get 1080 p 30f plus yahoo&hotmail massengers beside the skype and gmail and all to be able to run video chat through the front cam

This is the first decent phone Nokia made in years....too bad it looks like an iPod :)

Micro SD card gives you more disvantages than advantages. The first and most important: speed.

Hmmm the colours are qite unusual. I qite like the blue colours but is that too femnine looking for a guy? I mean, the black is OK but it makes the phone look so dull =P

You are onto a good thing so the big chief (Elop)comes in a axes it "as such"..Why dont we all go out and chuck some money down the drain,damage out tv,s and buy a 14 inch portable ,smash up our ovens and buy a wood stove,bulldoze our houses and erect a tent,,sounds crazy doesnt it?? SO are this overpaid bigwigs..

this device is a test mouse which its fate depend on customers. if meego is a success, Nokia will not fool enough to stop this. more apps will come, a new meego market will build.
so it is you that decide Nokia meego Destiny. :)

I'll definately buy the n9 64Gb when it's out.

Buy a professional camera if you are that deep... moreThe screen will react through thin pants, just place your finger inside your t-shirt... and then touch the screen on your N8 or Android, so it is a stupid idea to not have only a hardware button to activate the screen!
Swyping in a game or an app may move the user to the homescreen even if he/she does not want to, so even here it is better to have a hardware-key to press to move to the homescreen from any app/game.
N9 will not have Android Market so you will not be able to easily use all Android apps...

I'm somewhat attracted by both the Meego as well as the upcoming Windows Phones, but I know at least the Windows phone will lack attributes that I'm not willing to give up from the N8 - for example the possibility to use N8 as mass memory without needing a software installed on the computer.
I really like the looks and feel of Meego, but I think it's a bit stupid to buy a phone that has absolutely no future. Then again, Symbian^3 is mostly the same, but at least they have some amount of staff for it and it'll keep going on the cheaper end phones, so some support will be there.
And as a last reason, my N8 is only a year old by the time those come out and it works perfectly with no flaws and I'm perfectly happy with it. I hope that in a year the Windows phones develop many of the good features of Symbian (currently WP reminds me of iOS, very much locked down unlike Symbian).

What a shame. Nokia are at least 12 months out regards specs here with an OS that has in effect been obsoleted. What a waste of resources when they need all they have to get back in the game!
