I think it can be dual booted same as nokia n900.It can be able to put UBUNTU mobile or ANDROID OS.This is unique dat som phones has containing dual boot lik as pc.I think it wil support linux mobile os only, but nokia wil not provide any update for those os's.
The consumer might be getting a KB-less slate version with much newer technology. I wonder I wonder if it will have a very nice ARM dual core cortex A9 1GHz/2.0GHz? Other specs?
And what if Nokia actually used the 4.0" 1280x720P 366PPI LCD display. Somehow I don't think it likley -the Toshiba display because rumours are its going in an Android device. just a bunch of over excited Nokia fan rumours.
The highest res TFT LCD screen Nokia have *ever* put into a mobile was the N900 at 800x480. The N950 may get a AMOLED dislay possibly with CBD. It's likely that it will be a capacitive display because Harmattan/Meego is designed from the ground up to be native multitouch UX UI optimized.
You don't even need a 1GHz processor for Maemo, I can't even see Harmattan/Meego needing this much power. Certainly a dual core Cortex A9 running at 500MHz per core would be more than enough for Meego to run super fast.
Whatever it is I can't wait for the new linux tablet OS. It's going to be amazing but a lot has to be done with the APP store from Intel, Nokia etc...
Please nokia please change lock, stock & barrel, let it born in mobile universe,it may help u to take ur esteemed organisation on the top of the popularity again,we r waiting eagarly for N9.
Max, 24 May 2011why is there no flash 10.2? are they not going to support it?oh shut up MAX... it has flash lite... there is no need of adobe flash player..
Come on Nokia put this phone on sale now , I'm been waiting almost a year now for N9
this n9 has the most comment ever in gsmarena than any phone brands...there should be an gsmarena most commented model/brand of the year!
ak, 21 May 2011guys, this device is a developer device, you wont be able to get one, another device will foll... moreno it wont...Why they would take a phone to FCC to give it just for developers..They already have n900..And meego as they say is just "test OS" for a start if it success then they might continue with it, so why put all this money to make two different phones and take the other one to FCC too and pay for it again... well we will see it soon how the things are going to turn out...
forfreaksake, 21 May 2011It will run WP8It has Meego. :) WP8 is not even out, but the N9 will be announced soon!
When Nokia launch this phone in market then all other andriod phones are crushed away from the market
Again, nokia awasome hardware, but lack of nice OS...
MeeGo, altough is fkn awasome(by the video reviews on Nokia N900), it will not be so nice because none will develop apps for this OS sin all the market is 0wned by Android and iOS
guys, this device is a developer device, you wont be able to get one, another device will follow this one(in 2-3 months) which will have dual core cpu but no hardware keyboard :(
If this phone is for commercial release then you are gonig to have for yourselfs a very poweful device. The Meego OS is written for Intel Atom based netbooks, ARM based Nokia N900, Intel Atom based handset (Moorestown,Intel Atom based in-vehicle. So it could be a 1.2GHz ATOM or 1.6GHz ATOM central processing unit.
The E7 doesn't have Clear Black, but it's the special glass they asre using to make the blacks appear crisper because it's so close to the screen on AMOLED. i do not know if the N9 here is 4.0" or 4.2" & even if it's AMOLED. The screen res must be higher than 800x480 I know that at least. To compete with todays OS, & Meego being for higher res tablets, it's got to be higher than the N900 screen res.
