Well whatever they decide to do or not, I will stick to N9 forever. Its hard to find a phone to replace N9 even with all of the phones that are being released today, its hard to find at least for me. Or maybe its just some kind of strange attachment where you know there is better, but you just dont want that, you just want to stay with Nokia till the end.
Is the N9 still available on the market? I was reading it's spec am taken by the document viewer (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF)feature, I mean this is like carrying a mobile computer on your hand, it's amazing.
1. Better try with a different sim tray.
2. Before throwing the phone try a full reflash using nokia recovery tool.

I am quite sure Nokia will return to the smartphone market once they can, and of 2016. I am convinced they are already brainstorming as we speak about when and how to get back into the smartphone market. Their R&D division is a very valuable one, they will come up with some new phones again. And as it seems not only phones, their VR headset is one of their new products too. Tablets will also follow again later I think.

Last firmware update (PR 1.3) was back in 2012, it was known already then that thats the last firmware update. Other things like email and navigation still work, and you can still download map for offline use. (I did it yesterday). Fascinating thing is that even now people around the world are looking to buy N9, a phone that was released back in 2011, can you imagine that. I dont know what kind of agreement Nokia had with Microsoft about manufacturing phones, but if I were on their place, I would reconsider getting back in phone market, few low end models with durability (remember 3310), few mid rangers, and a high end N series as before. I mean, ok, they dont even need to create new phones, but they can work on N9, because thats their phone, not Microsofts, and imagine that, announcing that you start working on updating N9 s software, imagine a publicity, a euphoria, imagine all the owners around the world when they find out that Nokia didnt forget about their phone.
The best part of all this, is that this is not some fantasy or fanboyism, this is possible, just they (Nokia) have to see it, and see a response with that kind of announcment.
Nokia seems to have shut down the software repositories that serve to keep the N9 updated, so don't expect any more firmware updates coming down the pipeline. Also, the AccuWeather app stopped updating earlier this week. Hate to say it, but the N9 is being eclipsed and no one wants to keep supporting it. Real shame, since it is probably the best pure Linux smartphone out there still.
