Whatsapp Inc. didn't develop Whatsapp for MeeGo based N9. The unofficial client of the whatsapp is developed by the Maemo community and named as Wazapp. You can find it at talk.maemo.org or use the link given by Ruplee in earlier posts.

nokia n9 is perfect mobile but 1 problem if you do compare other mobile example samsung. nokia store not have quick voice input if have input but not quick working thats why i don't like nokia n9

I am really unable to understand some complaints.
Someone who did not dare to mention his name said something abut bad calls etc. Thats the worst comment I have ever read. N9 is best in calling. When you attach the phone with your ear sensor comes to work and the screen goes black. The benefit call will not be disconnected by faulty touch(As in Lumia800). And the other options cant be touched by faulty touch. But as you put the phone away from ear the screen comes back to life quickly. And we can access to all the options. How it is a fualt???
There is nothing wrong with earphone or accelerometer or any other hardware of N9. Battery performance is good. Mine going to be one year old exactly on this 24th. No problem at all. (If someone has a problem that must be an effect of some TWEAK, flash the device and dont use battery TWEAK)
Why everyone is complaining about Whatsapp??? When there is Wazapp for N9 which is an unofficial client of whatsapp. And in the sense of UI way way way better than the original client.
All the most needed apps are come out of the box. And just one thing is missing and that is Skype Video call. Nothing else.
Yes its Facebook client is not the best but its good with some exclusive features like Auto phto tag. But we have Fmobi and the browser which acts exactly like IPhone client of Facebook. And in Feeds it got updates. But if sometimes it does not 99% it is because of bad internet connection and sometime because of system and a simple reboot is enough to resolve the issue.
It has been going to one year I am using this device and in all this time no other smartphone really impresses me. It has all the things. And one more thing after the use of one year it is still new. No scratches at all and I am not using any case or protector. I am proud of my N9 and I will keep using it.
If someone is an actual user of N9 I suggest him/her plzz go to talk.maemo.org for your issues. There is a large community which is working on MeeGo and N9. Dont bash it for nothing.
P.S. Personally I dont suggest this device to others because it will not get a good support from Nokia. And for the people who dont want to go into the system they really cant use it fully. But it is good device, Best OS and best UI.
Long live N9 and MeeGo.....

I have always been a nokia fan, but feel ripped off by buying the N9. No updates apart from FB, which after how many attempts won't update regardless of the notification that there is an update available. No whatsapp, cannot dowload some apps as the software needed just does not exist here in South Africa it.seems. A lot of money spent on a rubbish phone. Have always had a Nokia phone but after this N9 purchase I doubt I Will never buy a Nokia again.

Rude boy, 17 Oct 2012appreciate it friend thnx a lotone last imp. thing: when you buy it, if the batt. is factory charged even for 10%, you must completely consume all the energy tht batt. has from the factory, then proceed as our friend corectly adviced you step by step.

East or west N9 is the best...
once u start moving with it, it is tough to switchover...
every N9 user will feel tough to use other device after getting adapted to this swipe UI.. No need to make our finger and eye move in search of BACK OR HOME key. MEEGO rocks...

I started Smart phones from

Apple 3s, HTC wildfire S (idiot), Nokia n900(a legend)
than HTC desire HD (battry problem), HTC Desire S (a very good phone), EVO 3d (power hourse but restart again & again),
SE xperia Ray (small screen but very good again), samsung galaxy s (average), HTC HD7 (good one), Xperia U (amazing
performance 7 design but limited memory) and now have
Nokia n9 & Samsung SII
I am big fan of HTC mobiles because their great build quality as HTC Sense is the best android UI.
It hard to say but it is reality I am the big fan of "Nokia N9", if u use once u forget android, WP etc..
Nokia n9 is best smart phone I have ever use no parallel

Had this phone for a year now, and i feel completely ripped off. sent in for repair 3 times, for battery going dead when 2/3 charge still indicated available, for faulty sensors which cause the screen to go blank during a call so you cannot hang up no matter how many times you jiggle the handset or press the on button to bring up the screen display, for the faulty earphone jack, for the faulty accelerometer, faulty parts seem to be all I can find.... and it screws up what a phone is essentially supposed to do well- make a phone call. It cannot do that properly. To hell with Nokia and their stupid MeeGo platform. Back to the drawing board you fools and make phones that can reliably MAKE PHONE CALLS!!!

go to settings/applications/manage applications/ check for updates-click top right corner (refresh button)
For those idiots who says no whatsapp for n9.. go..get this.
