Gosh, why dont all the ppl out there that love the N90 4 its camera capablility go and buy an actual camera
Cameras on phones are stupid. Who here actually uses the camera on their phone???? Only photographers actually use their cameras for a purpose.
3G undoubtly the newest mobile technology.
You can't say the opposite.
And the fact that 4G will come in next years won't make GPRS technology become newer.
When 4G will be a reality, 3G will be the standard network. Then, when N90 will still be able to work, W800 and all the other GPRS phones will have no network to connect to.
I agree with Sini.
You aren't able to accept this new technology and all its useful innovations.
Are we so stupid that we use an unuseful technology?
Ride your horse while we drive our cars.
i just remember one thing.. y ppl here says that N90 is phone of future? the specs yes but the size is just phone of the "stone age period of mobile phone". like nokia 2110 :p
ppl... don't bother about watever invincible sayss... he just talking rubbish onli. His opinion is extremely super hyper extraordinary bias and nonsense. whops sorry >
@invincible the phone of the tear 2005 has not been anounced yet and wont be until very early next year. Dont think a phone that came out this year will be phone of the year 2006 and if the w800/k750 is voted "worst phone ever" then why is it selling so well and getting great reviews? If you know what is going to be the phone of 2006 then you can see into the future. Use this ability to see when you will get some real friend, not the voices in your head!
I don't know about rest of the world but where I live 3g works fine with video calls.
What comes to the Rafe you are that guy who 100 years ago fighting against cars saying that horses are better. Belive or not but ten years old toyota corolla with a good sound systems is not beter car than new MB S-class. It seems to me that to you its hard to understand that your w800 use old technology. If you can't handle that and you wanna live in stone age it's your problem but keep out of this n90 forum where people don't want to live in past.
wobbuffet your talking crap, 4g is the same as 3g but a tiny bit faster but still slow, im waiting for 5g, i think thats gonna be so fast in browsing and downloading stuff and its gonna have digital tv and radio on the phone, the phone memory will be 5gb with a memeory card slot, 10 megapixel camera and the weight will only be 99grams, the first phone to have all of this will be the NOKIA N99, DUE TO BE OUT 2012 FOR ONLY £300 or $625
n90 is officially the phone of the year 2005 and phone of the year 2006 and w800/k750 is officially the worst phone ever made.
Oh, I forgot to say that 4G is expected only for 2010 if not later.
For now it's coming soon in 2006 an improvement for 3G networks speed in download, named HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Acces).
And in one or two years are coming also digital television for mobiles and HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet Acces).
There will always be a new improvement.
So I think it's not worth to wait.
1-YOU live in US with no 3G and for that you'll never understand the power of this technology. In Europe, especially in my area 3G is a reality.I love the power of having every information everywhere just in the palm of my hand.
2-N90 is also EDGE and that means that if your operator has enabled his GPRS network to use this technology you'll be able to use the new 3G services (except videocall) everywhere, without 3G signal.
Now the only stupid thing is your post
Sini is right.
You don't need videocall?Very well!
I like only 3G phones, and that is because I like their sharing capability.
With N90 you can videocall (and even if you don't need it I think its a great thing see things and people far away in real time), but also browse web with HTML browser(notice HTML like computers and not WAP or poor HTML), stream video and audio files.
W800 can play music, N90 can also download it!
I think that except for the camera W800 is really far away from N90 (also the phone feature is GPRS 2.5 generation vs UMTS 3rd generation)
N90 is pricey, but offers great features.
I think you should compare W800 to the new Nokia 6630 music edition. They have more similar features.
P.S. The best music phone is N91.
If W800 is the walkman phone, N91 is the I-pod multimedia 3G phone (but sadly lacks photo applications of N90 and videocall...and it's not clamshell)
"How can people be so studid that they compare 3g phone with video call capability to gsm phone? "
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! Again with the fraction of a fraction thing, in the US nobody cares about 3g, why? because it's not the MAIN data capacity of any of the major carriers. In europe 3g service is spotty at best across all carriers and only works in parts of some of the major cities there. Asia forget it, back home in Japan we already are 1/3 on a system that would probably be best called 4g or 5g. Again a total joke, do you want to continue using all the things that make a phone sound stupid (no offense to anyone out there this last statement is inclusive of all phones) like videocall and 3g, especially when things like that come and go in less than what a year?
If you are going to continue to b*tch about those kind of things, then just buy a laptop for 500.00USD more and use it with a 10mpx digi cam to do everything. Then you can brag about your little videocall and 3g.
I completely agree with TheOne&OnlyDazz I've not heard of anyone that uses videocall on such a regular basis. I know that here in the US nobody uses it, and if I was wrong and somebody did- it would be like the lowest fraction of a percentage that is too small for you to comprehend.
In europe you look at most of those plans you don't see anything in terms of minutes to use the videocall for anything that could be reasonably considered a conversation. To find 60+ videocall minutes is like WOW, now think of that 60 minutes in regular talk time, I'm sure that you would not even need a phone if you only used it for 60 minutes a month, lol.
In Japan it's considered a joke to use your mobile for a videocall when you can do it practically anywhere you go.
Businesswise videocall is not that good either, it's not too professional to head a meeting (since I know anybody with half a brain wouldn't attempt to attend a meeting via videocall) using this feature. Besides satphones and 3-D laser projectors are preferred to videocall which is like a toy.
