Nokia n900 is still very costly. Nokia should make a 8gb edition of it at Rs. 15k to 18k. So that i can afford it. 25k for a cellphone is still a hefty deal. What you say guys
is there any need to have an antivirus software on the n900 or does the os cover that???
2 os'es and still nothing succesfull by the ios4 ...nokia needs something new and original.stop imitating apple
Praneeth, 14 Oct 2010Warranty turning void is the confirm news once indian handsets flashed to global version?I don't think so, because all firmwares and flashing software are official available to N900 owners for downloading.
Also you can always flash back to the indian version and nobody will ever know that you have the global one before.

lenandes, 14 Oct 2010anyone here know how to play facebook video posted by other friends using this N900...mine nee... moreAt this moment there is no flash 10.1 for N900. The only solution is to install "Tweak Flash plugin version v0.3-maemo0", which enables us to change info about our installed flash version (cheating facebook
website). Link is here:
Another option is to get from Texas Instruments Linux (not Android) plug-in for Firefox. From this plug-in we need only file "libflashplayer.so". Some people already got it and now have real flash 10.1. Sadly plug-in is meant for developers, but no one stops us to send request.

Considering Nokia and the way Nokia phones hang, I feel its MUCH better if users donot choose the dual boot option...I bet the whole battery would drain by time the phone boots... :P :P
The N900 is the BEST mobile in the market till now... and now with MeeGo wow!!!
Congratulations N900 users, you got MeeGo!

Donít forget about the Nokia N900! Word on the net (the Meego blog to be specific) is that PR 1.3 update is coming soon and that youíll be able to dual boot between Maemo and Meego. The last update, PR 1.2 was released last May. Do you still have your Nokia N900?
On the Maemo side, there have been interesting, supporting developments going on, as well. The PR 1.3 update is quite close now, and with that you can easily dual boot between Maemo and Meego on your N900. There is also a possibility of developing applications supporting both operating systems, based on Qt and Qt Mobility APIs on the Maemo side. It means that you can develop once in PC with Qt Creator, and test your applications on both Maemo and MeeGo, directly on your N900 device!
This is exciting news since a lot of Nokia fans are looking forward to the new Meego OS. We also love getting firmware updates on our devices, so Maemo fans are going to be happy. Dual booting different OS sounds great too. That means we can change the user experience if we donít like one of them. Weíll keep our eyes open for updates on this development

You can flash your phone with global firmware.
One problem is if you bought the phone in India, your warrenty may turn void. Apart from that, you should have no problem flashing your device unless you dont know how to flash it. Go thru maemo.org for info on how you can flash the phone. Do some research before jumping in. All the best..
