Mysterio, 05 Oct 2010hey guys i m planning to buy this phone in a month. should i buy it with bill & warranty w... morei prefer you go with the warranty as sometimes you can get a defected part (very rare though) or since most of the apps are 3rd party for it, you might just brick your phone and so you can get nokia's aid.
rest is your decision ...:)

n900 won the Smartphone Championship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A few months ago started a competition on which is known as the Smartphone Championship. There were total 16 contestants, and today we have the winner. Now the champion, the winner of the Smartphone Championship is the Nokia N900. Nokia N900 got some great support from its fans from the first day, and in the final, Nokia N900 beats Samsung Galaxy S by a very great margin. Nokia N900 got 5,985 votes, and the Galaxy S got 2,734 votes, and the total is 8,719 votes.
So N900 users, enjoy your victory, and Samsung Galaxy S users, losing is the part of the game, so don’t think that your Galaxy S is a loser (I know you don’t), because the Galaxy S made to the final, and also a winner.

Hey, thanks for the reply in detail, well, I myself have been thinking about the n900, but at the end of the day symbian 3 might just be a little better. I currently use the n97 and the sony x10 as u can read it by my name. And I am certainly not happy with the famous android interface, been thinking about the win7 but its taking a little too long.
I am not very familiar with maemo, will it be complicated just like android x10? WIll nokia continue to support it?
1 more question will the n900 have downloaded built it yahoo messenger?

Melina Heling, 04 Oct 2010Where can I find softwares for my n900 n how to update firmware versions please somebody help ... moreHello!
You can do the upgrade with apt tool.
For that you need to install in utilities root shell and then, in the command line, call two commands (being connected to the Internet, of course)
wait for some time and the apt will upgrade for the last stable versions of maemo apps. (Doing that myself I got with that, e.g., percustom ringtones and ability to call 'technical' numbers like *101" - features the previous Maemo (sub)version badly missed)
I just bought a N900 gosh the Battery is terribly poor, it does not last more than 5 hours. Is there a solution for this as i feel its really bad.and i handle a lot of voice traffic as well.
Hi all, I tried N900 (of my boss ;-)). Well one work for this...excellent phone. Little heavy however manageable. Excess storage and can play almost all formats of audio and videos. Connect it to your FM or TV. It works excellent. Equally beautiful. I wish the screen was close to 3.7/4 inches and AMOLED display. Its really fast while you swap your finger or read mails. Many of the features in this phone is not available in my E71. So go ahead and lounge for this.
mike n97 x10 user, 04 Oct 2010Should I buy the n900 or wait for the nokia E7? am set to get my n8 after waiting 4 it 4ever this month. but, after endless research on both n8 and e7, ive made up my mind just now- il get myself an n900 tomorow. yes its just a tv out and not hdmi. yes its just 5mp not 8 or 12. yes its bulky and not as sleek as d aluminum chasis of d n8 or e7. but it thrashes both with its raw power and speed on the internet. its processor rivals that of d galaxy s, desire and iphone 4, wich 4me is the very essence of a smart phone. also, u can have as much as 1,000mp on ur camera , but its only as good as its resolution. and the n900 has only slightly lower than that of d iphone. the n8 and e7 has practically has 50% less. why did nokia opted 4 this? i have no idea. the camera and video editing on the n8 and e7 is superb but really, how many pictures and videos did u ever wana edit since.. well, ever? im all about internet. while am at work, in the toilet, eating or just tiring my eyes to sleep. i dont thik il b needing the tv out nor d hdmi that often. so nokia n900 tomorrow it is... and if for any reason u feel lyk choosing between the e7 and n8, pick the e7. atleast it has qwerty. it makes typing way easier and while typing, u dont have the entire virtual keyboad covering 80% of ur screen.
