Nokia, I'm a big supporter of your phones ever since the 3310.

I still can't get myself to buy this N900 because it feels you will abandon Maemo and support for N900. It's like the N900 was just a stop gap device that will soon be left to die when Maemo 6/Meego is here.

If Nokia wants to show it really cares about this phone, it has to:

*Support MMS.
*Support All languages (not through a hack)
*Have the Ovi maps entirely functional (not just basic)
*Support portrait mode throughout
*Maybe release a 16GB version because it would be cheaper and 32 is just too much for now not to mention adding to the cost.
*Have more and more developers make apps for it. Why not even have the best 20+ teams working on iphone, pay them money to make similar apps for the Maemo.

*for God's sake, have your CEO come out and say, "YES, ppl who buy N900 now will get upgraded to Meego when it is out". How hard it is to understand that this makes people want to buy it since its software will be there 2 years from now?

/ends my rant. Let's hope I can stop myself from buying until Nokia steps up and releases the successor, BEFORE I do something I'll regret like going with android (not bashing android here, just not a preference).

mj, 20 Mar 2010c'mon N900 users let us accept the battery is weak we must ask or request to Nokia that they m... morethe battery is not weak but, it has only limited power to run the n900. if you will compare 5800 to n900, the performance varies not n the batteries but on the phone itself.

n900 has more advance software and hardware than 5800, what to expect? more power is consumed. its like pentium 2 and core processors. the core has gigantic fans installed unlike the pentiums.

hello guy's...well after a grt patience fianlly i am proud to be the owner of this grt device.well i can share my little experience with you all.

Messaging:- Its really Grt.stunning.well m usin textin as well as chatin in N900 n its really unbealiable to b so simple n grt.New way of Incomin message makes it looks more different compared to other devices.i hav used IPhone as well as Motorola but nothin compared to N900.

Multi-tasking:- A new feature whch makes this device more different and special from others.very easy to switch applications from 1 to another.Very nice one.

Web:- too fast, very easy to access, all i can say till date i hav used N97.motorola.Iphone.the web browser of N900 is no match for anyone of the followin ph.i just cant stop myself from browsin all day !!

Phone:- its something which i think should b update in the next firware.but quite handy to use it.( personally for me i like textin as well as browsin)

only 1 thing is to b improved is battery but am quite satisfied with it now.as no device is perfect some or the other lacks something with such cool features i can consider for battey life.

this is the experince i had in 2 days !! will update later as i will go through it...but MUST SAY THIS PHONE ROCKS.... THANKS NOKIA FOR SUCH LOVELY HANDSET.

HTC hero is nothing near N900.It`s a toy near N900.I have the N900 for 2 months now and i think it`s the best Nokia smartphone.Anyway no HTC Hero can stand a battle with N900,maybe HTC Nexus one has a chance but it`s an ugly loking smartphone near the N900.My opinion Nokia N900 has the looks and the functionality to be the best there is on the market today. And don`t be afraid about the battery,it keeps running for 48 hours even on hard use for me.

"wow cool touch phone! But, whoops! its a resistive touch not cool at all" Resistive is not sensitive enough & not properly working at all"

I've skipped Nokia N900 only for its RESISTVIE touch screen. & now I feel very proud as a owner of a HTC Hero!
If I would get N900 then I couldn't feel that.

Biggest £500 white elephant ever. Dam thing doesn't support MMS, one of the main priorities of a camera phone!!!! Such a let down.

This phone is stunning. The only thing that prevented me from getting this phone was the poor battery.Nokia should have given this a much better battery. I am not a fan of carrying a spare battery or leaving the handset in a charger most of the day like the iphone crew. The Samsung Wave is smart phone with a good battery and will be released towards the end of the year. I purchased the Nokia E72 instead (Jan 2010). I can go for up to four days before I need to recharge again. It's battery is tremendous. It also has a 600mhz processor. Yeap not as fast as the N900 though. Maybe they may make an N900 part 2 with a beast of battery. Remember the first N95 (Silver) was poor - especially the battery. Nokia opened their eyes and later launched the part 2 - The Nokia N95 8 GIG (Black version). It was a massive improvement with a great battery and better processor/OS. I'll get my new phone in November so I'll see how it goes with Nokia releases by then.

Oh! God Damn! N900 is very poor quality resistive touch screen device. Mind it, resistive touch screen can't detect human touch rather than press. So, you have to press on the screen to operate Nokia N900. If you want a real powerful touch screen device& If you want to control your phone by your finger's gentle touch then go for capacitive touch screen phones like HTC Hero, iPhone 3gs, Nokia X6. Becoz those phone are capacitive touch screen phone & can detect a very gentle human touch. Touch sensitivity is the very very important issue on a touch screen phone. important issue on a touch screen phone. NOW IT'S YOUR CHOESE TO TAKE YOUR TOUCH SCREEN PHONE. IF I CANNOT CONTROL MY PHONE BY MY FINGER TOUCH, WHY I WILL BUY THAT ONE?
