So looking at the details of the newly anounced Apple IPad. Nokia has absolutely nothing to worry about. N900 rules!
.what a total waste of money..battery doesnt last that long..made out of plastic materials..bulky and heavy not suited for your pocket..doesnt have a lot of applications to go with, and not updatable to maemo 6..what a crap..nokia is just trying to imitate the itunes of apple, but they suck really bad..
Ganpat, 27 Jan 2010Just go for N900 and you won't regret it for sure. Battery is not a big issue considering the ... moreI checked the battery of my N900 and it lasted for a day with the following usage.
1. Made calls for 1 hour
2. Use camera and took some 10 photos
3. took a short video
4. use GPS for like an hour.
5. browsing for like 1 hr.
6. play around with the applications for like an hour.
7. Bluetooth on through out.
yeah right the gps for 1 hour who you trying to kid that alone would have ate all of your battery
Just wondering about the lock screen - what alerts does it show? Does it show new text messages, and if so does it have a preview of new texts (ie where you can see sender, time and first few lines of message)? Also does it have push email? Thanks

Try saving the theme, etc you want to use to mass memory and see if it still happens.

gabby131, 27 Jan 2010this is my first time hearing about theme problems, but there might be the following problems ... moremight have to reflash the phone since i got it used gonna do it later and let you know of the results but it's just weird widgets dissapering and themes going back to the Nseries with the wallpaper of the previous theme i applied
and do you anything about the GPS on this cause the server address seems right but the
internal gps can't pick up any signal
deep space bar, 27 Jan 2010thanks bud and do you come by this problem sometimes .when you set up a theme and you turn off... morethe widgets sometimes takes too long to load. better wait, but if still, no progress, try putting all of the widgets, themes, and other settings you apply (if there is a "done" or "save" button, dont forget to tap that) and then reboot your phone.

(with only 2 hours of wi-fi and zero usage of 3G signal)
deep space bar, 27 Jan 2010thanks bud and do you come by this problem sometimes .when you set up a theme and you turn off... morethis is my first time hearing about theme problems, but there might be the following problems and/or solutions
-select the theme again, after the theme loaded, tap save or done (i dont think there is such tap button but if there is any)
-maybe the theme is activated, but still the same nseries background. tap and hold the main desktop to setup. tap the upper part of the screen to drop down options, tap change background, and select the background you please to activate.
-reinstall the theme (uninstall and install again) then restart your device, activate the theme.
-sometimes when you connect the phone from a computer via mass storage usb cable, the theme goes back to the default when it is disconnected. in this case, just re-activate the theme. (most of this problem occurs on symbian phones, specially when the theme is installed in the memory card, i dont know the case for maemo)
mickey, 27 Jan 2010i think approx 5hrs (at least) of continuous use including online tasks is fairly reasonable. ... morei believe so, though this is the 600mhz amr power cortex phone that i used that runs like this long in a fully charged battery. but if your only to use the n900 for just phone calls or text messaging and other stuff except wi-fi, the battery can last up to 24-36 hours.
Some tips which I follow to make the most out of the N900 battery.
1. Disable touchscreen vibration
2. Disable vibration mode for the profile
3. Disable bluetooth if not required.
4. Disable GPS/wifi
5. Don't have too many applications open (just have the ones you use)
6. Reduce the sound volume for the ring tones, Message / IM alert tones
7. Don't have any widgets on the desktop (I used foreca weather widget on my desktop and it drained my battery in few hours).
