Thanks for your report.
It seems to me that the battery in the N900 is far, far better that any laptop battery I have ever used.
I'm getting this phone as soon as it comes to Sweden (12 Feb)
at last!! im done my tests!!! well the battery life of n900 is just 100% the same as 5800xm, the only thing is, the n900 is more power hungry. What can we expect on such powerful phone? But at least, the n900 is not as power hungry as other devices that i know.....that can only last maximum of 24 hrs of my normal use.
The 1320mah battery on n900 lasts 24 hours of my extreme use and maximum of 36 hours of normal use (calls, sms, e-mail, 2-3 hours of wi-fi and 1-2 hours of music and video). This results are achieved with only minimum brightness of display, power saver mode and 30-60 secs of backlight time (i did not use 3g, not yet available in my location)
I am thinking of buying a n-900. Is it really an all time landscape display mode? I mean i cannot work on it with portrait display mode?
Nookia offer free turn by turn navigation forever forever
luckily i have choosen the n97 mini:)
i think thw only thing iphone users hate about this phone is no capacitive sctreen, the guys at engadget has alreadsy admited thta the resistive used in n900 is spo close to glass
no much apps for n900?
N900 need games deveploer to offer them more games, non need tpo install basic phone program
just got my n900 3 days ago. haven't been able to put it down since! haven't encountered any obvious bugs or crashes yet, and this baby is fast! the browser is amazing - i haven't needed to use my laptop since i got this phone. it truly is a computer in your pocket. i can't wait until more apps start to appear. i was worried about the no portrait mode thing, but surprisingly i don't really miss too much. the only place i do miss it is in "conversations" - would be nice to scroll through messages with one hand. but i presume that will come.
Anonymous, 21 Jan 2010Yes right out of the box native Apps like iTunes, Safari and Mail are all open at once MULTITA... moreThe multitasking on the iphone is fairly limited - it's not true multitasking like it is on other devices (eg N900). To go from one app to another, you still have to go to the homescreen then pick which app/s you want to re-enter, which can be quite annoying if you have multiple screens of apps and you need to scroll through many screens. And the fact that you have to jailbreak the iphone to enable multitasking with 3rd party apps shows it's not truly multitasking. For power users, the iphone would be insufficient, but for most people the limited multitasking on the iphone is fine.
N900owner, 20 Jan 2010hello. I bought N900 and it's not an internet tablet. internet tablets were N770, N800 and N... moreI agree with you. yes it's not only a phone but a fullfil of pocket pc. i bought it 3 days ago and i injoying it very much. new brower is superb, battery is fantastic, touch pannel is accurate, speakers are louder.............it's will go on and go on if i write all the good side. i must thank nokia team for real great discover.
nokia n900, 21 Jan 2010most of the people who bought this phone are dissapointed..they thought it would overcome the ... moreyou might be right about iphone opened people's eyes by taking us to the touch technology, but that's doesn't mean the iphone will always be better than the others, well, if you think so, tat's fine, but did you see many people here whom have used the 3gs, and this n900 they say the n900 is better, so enjot your iphone, and let people enjoy their n900. oh don't forget to keeping your eyes on what nokia is about to come up. good one!
Anonymous, 21 Jan 2010Can you send a message one handed in portrait mode?can you watch videos via in browser or can you type in cold weathers with normal gloves on or file BT with out downlading other applications or the need to"jailbreak" your phone just to add basic and extra feature thar are standard on most phones
nokia n900, 21 Jan 2010most of the people who bought this phone are dissapointed..they thought it would overcome the ... moreu r wrong, iphone open your eye to let u see how useless 3gs is, 3gs with its price make it more stupid n worst yet with no better feature. nokia is way more advance than the 3gs.
most of the people who bought this phone are dissapointed..they thought it would overcome the iphone but they are still wrong..they cant accept the fact that iphone 3gs is still better than this nokia n900..if iphone didnt been released then we would be stuck in the old lame phones that nokia produce..we should be thankful that iphone opened our eyes to the real touch technology..
deep space bar, 21 Jan 2010you don't understand iphone can not multitask ..........IT WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR IT developers ... moreYes right out of the box native Apps like iTunes, Safari and Mail are all open at once MULTITASKING.
It is third party Apps which are NOT ALLOWED by restrictions deliberately placed into the OS, by jailbreaking you can remove those restrictions and enable FULL MULTITASKING of third party Apps.
iPhone OS 4.0 should be announced on the 27th of the month, so it might become a moot point anyway.

i'm using my N900 right now and it's been multitasking as soon as i put the battery in and powered it on
and you do that with the iphone...... NO!! cause it wasn't designed to cause apple makes excuses for everything
hi guys, i am using n97 now,n very satisfied except phone memory only 73 mb,what about n900? i suggest nokia make big phone mem. capacity,am i right? by the way, when this damn phone to be sold in indonesia?
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2010comparing iphone to N900 is really like comparing sony playstation 2 with a powerfull PC
PS2... moreWhen you say "no mutitasking" on the iPhone you are wrong.
It is fully capable of controlled multitasking limited to native Apps, when jailbroken it multitasks fine using the same hardware and a modified OS.
The hardware (CPU, RAM & Graphics) are almost identical between the N900 and the iPhone so again your comparison with the PS2 and a modern PC is also wrong.
You are making the basic mistake of underestimating just how powerful the iPhone 3GS actually is.
