anybody know where can i get this phone for a reasonable price? the retailers offer from US $569-$629 are those prices reasonable?
ryk, 10 Jan 2010I don't agree with that. I'd rather have a powerful phone in my pocket than a longer lasting ... morei have a phone with the same battery as the n900. i know n900 eats more power than the device i have, but a 1320 mah battery is not bad. i dont have an n900, but i experienced using it, the battery lasts 1.5 days with heavy use (wi-fi and other 9 apps running in the background). i am also planning to get this phone, or, get the one next to this.
MAEMO and N900 in one is a powerful phone that can only run with a powerful processor.
if i am making it right. no other processors that other first nokia devices posses can handle such apps and software in the n900
long awaited stantum resistive multitouch screen microcontroller launched the other day!!
nokia phone will have multitouch soon
I'm pretty excited about the new generation OMAP Series 4 Processors.
Check this out:
1.) hardware accelerators enable full HD 1080p, multi-standard video encode/decode.
2.) up to 20-megapixel imaging
3.) Dual-core ARM® Cortex™-A9 @ 1GHz or more
4.) Integrated POWERVR™ SGX540 graphics accelerator drives 3D gaming and 3D user interfaces.
i have been using nokia n900 from last two month.i am quite happy with my mobile. if u compare nokia nseries like n-95,96 & 97 with n900 there are 35 to 36 features are missing but i am quite sure nokia will fill that gap.thanks.
gabby131, 10 Jan 2010what? n900 and e72 has same processor? (600mhz) men!!! good thing i did not rush to get this p... moreGetting so tired of people here stating the WRONG information. The E72 and N900 DON'T share the same processor!!!!! If you only read 600 Mhz and than state oh it's the same, then probably in you're world a pentium 2 600mhz processor is the same as an Pentium 4 600 mhz processor. Use the comparrison pages on this very forum to see for yourself.
David, London, UK, 10 Jan 2010For those considering getting this phone or the E72, get the E72. I considered both. They both... morewhat? n900 and e72 has same processor? (600mhz) men!!! good thing i did not rush to get this phone, i thought that this is the first nokia phone with this high performance processor. I used an e72 before, and.....i didn't get much hang of it. so n900 has a processor same as the e72 with the mind blasting, ARM cortex, mozilla browser, toch UI and MAEMO software!!!
htc hd2 and nexus are a way better than nokia n900 n97 n97 mini n96 now! but the nokia e90 communicator is the bestesttest!!!!... phone i ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anonymous, 10 Jan 2010its crazy to see how many people think this is the best phone out there, snapdragon just made ... moreit's crazy how some people underestimate the power of the maemo OS and maemo community.

I'd rather have a powerful phone in my pocket than a longer lasting one.
Plus there are external batteries available.
I would rather get this phone than nexus one(just imo) since i surf web alot and i watch alot of movie, this phone support not only mp4 but wmv, ect.. and Adobe Flash player 9.4 can pretty much play anything on the web, currently have Nokia Xpress Music 5800 and it can only play mp4 which suck
David, London, UK, 10 Jan 2010For those considering getting this phone or the E72, get the E72. I considered both. They both... moreThe CPU speed may be the same but the processing power is not equivalent. The N900 is much more powerful.
However on the battery life issue the E72 is superior.
For those considering getting this phone or the E72, get the E72. I considered both. They both have the same processor speed (600MHZ) but what put me off the N900 was the battery. Nokia are reknown for battery beasts. The N900 has to charged daily in most cases twice daily. This was the same as the Nokia N96. My E72 is charged once every four days. YES FOUR DAYS. It has the same battery as the E71. The N900 battery is decent but the handset is to powerful for it. It is like using a tank battery for a plane. The plane will only fly for a short time rather than for hours on end and will need constant refueling. If they release the next version of this phone later in the year with a great battery, I will consider it. Get the E72. You will not regret it.
Anonymous, 10 Jan 2010its crazy to see how many people think this is the best phone out there, snapdragon just made ... morethe fastest cpu does not mean it kill n900
do you mean that apple this year to turn low end iphone3gs to real smartphone to beat n900?
Dont forget nokia maemo6 next flagship will be launched first half this year!
its crazy to see how many people think this is the best phone out there, snapdragon just made this phone obsolete, put the hd2 or nexus in your hand and you will never look back at nokia ever again....... htc = #1 see for yourself
btw i have owned all of these phones, cant wait to see what apple will do to beat hd2 or nexus, GOOD LUCK NOKIA your waaaaaaaaay behind
It's an exellent phone & while going out I don't want a laptop even. It's so easy and also work like our computer. You should buy dis.
