Such thick phone system multimedia should have had a better battery power well, there is no excuse about that, the nokia company does it with purpose, so they can sell us next time the same thing polished and a bit different look..., well if there is sun for release the other n920 maybe i em going to bay, otherwise the nokia5800xm with skyfire browser does great job!
order htc hd2 from clove.co.uk for 769 dollars last month and sold my hd2 for 500 dollars last week on craiglist, purchased my nokia n900 for 569 dollars from buy.com today, hope to get mine soon,
I pre-ordered my N900 -11 Nov.09 from the locally store.
i write almost everyday,my next post here will be on Fennec
I don't really understand the complains about the battery life.
I mean my brand new mac book pro doesn't last half a day if I keep playing with it all the time and check the web and e-mails.
Soooooo, what do people expect?
If you need battery lasting for a whole week, buy a nokia 3310.
Oh no! I forgot! You also want a 12Mgpx camera, HD video recording, a sliding keyboard, bluetooth, IR, Dolby surround speakers, a 4" capacitive screen, a perfect mix of Maemo/OsX/Android/WinMo, 3.000.000 free apps,etc...
And of course you want this as slim as a sheet of paper and for only $300 unlocked.
The funny thing is, even if this phone existed, people would still be complaining.
Having used the N900, besides having all the goodies the other phones on the market have it has three features that are difficult to come by:
1 - FM transmitter
2 - IR remote so that it can easily be used as a universal remore
3 - TV out
The internet browser is also pretty much the best one out there (based on firefox gecko engin), better then even the iphone in my opinion especially since you got a real keyboard and higher resolution. I even used the N900 to install Debian X-windows with openoffice, gimp and all!
It all depends on what's important for you...yes the camera isn't the best in the world but personally I don't use it much...I take along a real digital camera when needed. The software offering is growing by the day...so in a matter of a few months that won't be an issue anymore either.
I just got my Nokia N900. Very much impressed. I am facing some issues here and there. first thing is sms in Conversations application. When I click on an sms to open, it opens and the message keeps blinking. I am not able to see the message still. Anybody has this problem and knows how to fix it? msg me asap. thanks.
OOHHMY Shane ON You Nokia N900.
This is a silly comparison N900 vs. Omnia HD. N900 supports 3G of T-mobile in USA and after that the comparison makes no longer sense. I need to use a 3G service of T-mobile so either N900 or SE X10 will be my choice.
But X10 runs on a much more polished Android and with a new Snapdragon processor and a capacitive screen and a 8 Mpixel camera is a clear winner. I will also like its lighter weight and slimmer profile as well. That all make it an ultimate business machine. And N900 is only a promising for maemo in the future. They are too unmature and raw for now. Nuf said.
This phone is da bomb... Seriously, if your fairly experienced computer user, this phone will do everything your PC can, right now, im watching my movies on my server on it around the house. It is a mini-PC that looks good and serves well..
Only problem i have is battery life... 1day is the average life.
it kind of scratch screen!do u use ur hand n stylus direct to its screen??does it have somthing protect??
i've been using my new N900 for about a week now. i dont really know whats happening. sometimes i can connect to the internet but most of the time i cant. i also can transfer file via bluetooth to my pc. i am really very disappointed now...
