Vinny, 17 Nov 2009I knew people would complain about the N900 not being here on november 16th.
The funny thing,... moreVinny,
Not to argue, but this is not complaining and shows the curiousity of people for N900.
In official nokia sites like Maemo and in Nokia conversations it was already indicated that the shippment has started and this is not a speculation.
We are not expecting earlier than the date announced. Once we had a delay for improvements, agreeable, but after that they gave a hope. But still they dont stick to it, which is really not a good factor!
Instead of blindly offending, nokia needs to revise its marketing strategy!
I am really wondering why different nokia sites states different information.
BTW, in maemo.org there are two dedicated threads running regarding the shipment!
INTRODUCING NOKIA for you. this is the best phone experience i have ever had. tooo tooo good a phone. but still need to confirm the battery life. as its NOKIA hope it keeps upto it.
i will go for it .
as i previously stated, its release is this thursday for the uk. a nokia repl told me. but networks like tmobile and vodafone wont have in until the 30th november
I knew people would complain about the N900 not being here on november 16th.
The funny thing, as I said before, is that Nokia NEVER said it would be released by the 14th or 16th. Those are dates that some website or stores such as Newegg dicided to claim.
Since the beginning of november, Nokia's official website ALWAYS stated "end of the month" as the release time.
So, please people, stop complaining about nokia "delaying the phone". The only time they delayed it was when they switched the release time from "end of october" to "end of november". (and even then, it was to get feedback from those lucky people who got one of the 300 pre-series).
All the other dates are rumors from impatient users or website stores.
Anonymous, 17 Nov 2009I agree. But in Swiss now we have good offers for PostPaid with Orange. We are waiting curious... moreUnderstood clearly but you see to make a retaliatory purchase of a lesser phone would not hurt anyone but you. The N900 is going to be a major milestone (No pun intended toward Motorola) for the mobile smartphone. You've waited this long. A little longer won't hurt, will it?
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I agree. But in Swiss now we have good offers for PostPaid with Orange. We are waiting curiously for long period and already some offers are over!
Till now there is no news about availability despite of Nokia announcing 16th November as date of shipment.
I guess nokia marketing is getting more and more horrible with providing unreaistic dates, just to cover the crowd and to prevent people switching to other handsets.
So far I bougt several handsets all nokia and Symbian Touch is really not worthy. I thought this will be a ray of hope, but to add disappointment, we hear only we hear the delays. Hope you understand :( !
Check the video.
I guess we can expect at least a preview soon.

will this phone be available in south africa? cause i asked someone from autopage and she told me it won't be coming to south africa. my contract is long overdue for renewal but i can't think of any other phone beside this fantastic phone. i will not upgrade until i get this phone...!!! nice technology indeed.
Truly said it is historical and real multi tasking phone. Must have for linux users. I am really impressed.
Not interested if the phone can't send or receive MMS. Even the most basic phones can do that.
Anonymous, 17 Nov 2009No problem vinny.
I know that T-Mobile have rolled out some new price plans so I hope that ... moreI really don't like AT&T.
Their customers service and their prices are the worst.
If I was looking for the best 3G network here in SF, I would go for Verizon.
Their customers service looks nice and their network seems unbelievable. But prices are still a little expensive and they are using CDMA.
I would think about it if I wanted the DROID, but the N900 looks waaaaaay much nicer to me.
I might still consider it only because of the price difference.
hi guys,i want to know about front camera,is it possible to use it as web cam?plz inform me ,this is urgent ,and i ur reply will be appreciated, tnx
To all those who are asking again and again about the release in India. Nokia has clearly stated the initial release is targeted for UK, Russia and North America Only.
Asia and other regions will be released in End of December or January 2010.
vinny, 16 Nov 2009actually I need to thank you.
I just expected the N900 to work on AT&T 3G bandwidth.
Looks l... moreNo problem vinny.
I know that T-Mobile have rolled out some new price plans so I hope that things work out for you. Personally I wouldn't buy a smartphone just to use it with EDGE. In fact I'm unhappy about the removal of all US 3G frequencies from most new smartphones and I only spend a few weeks there a year.
As much as I'd like to I've never been able to try the T-Mobile USA data network (when roaming) because their 3G frequencies are incompatible with my phones and I can't use EDGE on my prepaid TM USA SIM because they don't allow users to buy a data package (unless you have a Sidekick).
I did get a AT&T SIM card this summer when I was in Miami (because they allow data on prepaid) and all I can say is that their 3G network is a joke on the East Coast. I didn't get a decent consistent strong 3G signal until I was in the terminal at JFK preparing to leave the USA.
I think that AT&T's signal is better in major West Coast cities than it is on the East Coast (it was pretty bad in SF though) but I have to say that I've rarely had a strong 3G signal while roaming on the AT&T network no matter where I was.
I know that T-Mobile have been continuing with their 3G network rollout (with renewed commitment to this from parents DT) and I believe that they are trying to complete that rollout and also upgrade their network to 7.2Mbps by this end of the year. They plan to upgrade again to 21Mbps in 2010.
AT&T on the other hand plan to upgrade their network to 7.2Mbps in 2010 but from my experience of their network I would say that it won't make any difference to their end users.
