apple used nokia gsm, umts and wlan technologies in all 3 generations of iphones that too without paying for it!! you thiefs rofl!!! what a bloody joke man!!! apple sucks!!
I hope they take off the 256MB storage limit for third party software that was on the earlier versions :S
These are surely rewarding features that Nokia has added to its roster. thanks to this model that definitely blows out all other nokia models, my very expensive N97 will be priced as Junk by the time this model comes out. Im going for the I-phone from now on.
Anonymous, 22 Oct 2009I'm glad Nokia has posponed the release date.
It shows they're dedication to try to get i... moredamn right now they will tweek with software and actually add FM software instead of a 3rd part app and have the 2gb phone memory and fix small minor things but
pre ordering mine in 2 weeks
I'm glad Nokia has posponed the release date.
It shows they're dedication to try to get it right even if it might hurt them in the short term. If they didn't care they would just release it full of bugs with a "rake in the money now and fix it later" attitude like a lot of other companies do.
This is a professionals phone and those who will go buy an iphone because they can't wait any longer are the real loosers. I'm waiting for mine. N900 is going to be such a success.
Same is stated in talk.maemo.org. See the below link

"We've just heard some pretty sour news. Peter Schneider, head of Maemo marketing, has waxed official about the N900's release and quite casually noted that it'll "start shipping during November 2009," which as you very well know is a whole month later than originally expected. An interesting tidbit to his post is that he notes Nokia had lent out 300 pre-production units to the community, and he stresses the importance Nokia places on the feedback received. Connecting the dots might suggest that feedback wasn't quite as hot as Espoo had hoped, and a few last-minute refinements are now being applied. Either way, you're gonna have to refill your patience for potentially another month of waiting.
The future of touch screen phone belongs to nokia! N900 the first nokia maemo phone
look for ward to next year symbian flagship after n97!

-5MP camera is too low. should be at least 12MP

Zero, 22 Oct 2009no matter what you say, the fact was that, whoever bough the n97, they came back to store and ... moreDon't see where nokia failed, they made it, it sold well to the target segment.
Where do you think apple would be without firmware updates? If they'd acually release them more often it wouldn't be such a no-no device.
And do you think people who haven't heard of firmware update actually buy symbian? I don't think there's many, but it's as easy to do as clicking yes when the phone asks you to.
That's OTA update (over the air), it's so small any data plan can cover it with ease.
Zero, 22 Oct 2009no matter what you say, the fact was that, whoever bough the n97, they came back to store and ... moreTo be honest I ddn't like it either and I found it fishy right from the start because nokia didn't release the specs only 3 months before the launch and not when the phone was announced.
Truth to be told everyone had seen how samsung i8910 could do hd video and since the price was the same, why pay more for a keyboard?
Then i8910 came out prematurely and it was a dissapointment because of the unfinished software. Those who bought it have now a nice phone thanks to the samsung support that did it's job for first time in ages.
Either way n97 seems to be the choice for those who text a lot and it really behaves and feels like a mini-computer.
Even if the firmware git patched on the way people(not geeks) seem pretty happy with it even here at gsmarena, have you checked it?
