Zero, 22 Oct 2009no matter what you say, the fact was that, whoever bough the n97, they came back to store and ... moreTo be honest I ddn't like it either and I found it fishy right from the start because nokia didn't release the specs only 3 months before the launch and not when the phone was announced.

Truth to be told everyone had seen how samsung i8910 could do hd video and since the price was the same, why pay more for a keyboard?

Then i8910 came out prematurely and it was a dissapointment because of the unfinished software. Those who bought it have now a nice phone thanks to the samsung support that did it's job for first time in ages.

Either way n97 seems to be the choice for those who text a lot and it really behaves and feels like a mini-computer.

Even if the firmware git patched on the way people(not geeks) seem pretty happy with it even here at gsmarena, have you checked it?

Anonymous, 22 Oct 2009First of all maemo is version 5 it's not something engineered over the night and ordered from ... moreno matter what you say, the fact was that, whoever bough the n97, they came back to store and ask for software or refund, do you think that's the coreect thing nokia did?

for many normal customer, they dun even understand may of the firmware, apps you talk about, they do not want to now, thye only thing they care is they pay £500 for the phone, and they want it worked, but the many of the n97 didn't.

Read the spec on gsmarena of how good it is is one thing but user experience and efficiency is totally another story, which that was why nokia failed.

Zero, 22 Oct 2009First of all, I am not an iphone user. so dun say i am an apple fan. what i want to say is ... moreFirst of all maemo is version 5 it's not something engineered over the night and ordered from china.

All decent sites all over the net screamed that n97 is a reshaped 5800, why did you go for it if you don't need the keyboard?
And don't think for a second iPhone doesn't freeze, it actually goes t the point where you have to hard-reset it.

And 3rd n97 is pretty stable after the last firmware that just rolled out.

Have you checked what you'll miss if you get an iphone? their advertising can be pretty misleading, so just make sure you really know what you get.

0v0, 22 Oct 2009How many times i have to sayy!!!!!! Please open your ears!!!! All issues posted is relat... moreFirst of all, I am not an iphone user. so dun say i am an apple fan.

what i want to say is the way nokia launch the n97. they knew there's plenty of software problems, they didnt solve it and launch it with failure and charge their loyal customer at that kind of price which is disgrace. Does nokia think their customer will just buy whatever rubbish they launch with out even looking at the problems??

nokia is using the money of you from buying the handset itself to develop new "smooth" platform.

or may be you weould say apple is the same, but the big different is, where there's no such sofeware in the iphone, apple will tell you, and the UI is perfect. compare to the slow, freezed n97. you know my choice.

How many times i have to sayy!!!!!!

Please open your ears!!!!

All issues posted is related to software issues, and we are very familiar with nokia that, they will release new firmware and ofcourse the problems will be solved

the same went with N97, the new released software is the best for n97.

so why attacking N900, and it is still not released!!!

please talk about reasonable matters

thanks

this are probably the best vids of the n900 since the guy is already familiar with the os and gives a brief but complete explanation of all the main features.

Not only does it not support SMS on portrait mode. It doesn't support anything except for calls. Meaning, when you rotate the screen to portrait mode it directly opens the phone call page so you'd make a call. Other than that nothing.

The IPhone is not a challenge anymore, its outdaded, and you have to pay for almost every application (Android will take over MAC OS with its free apps)
This is a better challenge:
N900 VS HTC HERO
N900 VS X2/X10(RACHAEL)
