NK, 14 Oct 2009Here some facts resistive vs capative:
*Is a pressure based system,... moreResistive is actually most precise with anything :)
It depends on the UI if you'll ever need a stylus or not.
Personally I don't like stylus but there are some who are too used with it it let go.
as, 14 Oct 2009Does anyone know if you can watch LiveStream on this phone ?Good Question. Could anybody clarify whether Streaming flash is supported?
Here some facts resistive vs capative:
*Is a pressure based system, which reacts on how hard you push the screen
*Most precise with stylus
*System which reacts on electronic pulses when you touch the screen
*Most precise with finger
Some people think (iphone) capacitive screen is much nicer to look at, at this people i can see one thing; look at the HTC touch pro 2. Beaautiful screen ever with a resistive based touchscreen!
I've been using a Nokia 6100 since November 2002 and I still have the same battery! It still works but I'm upgrading to the N900 and I don't give a damn about resistive or capacitive. Its all new to me.

someone coming from captive will find resistive crappy at the beginning and the other way around as well
but I do believe that resistive is perhaps not that eyecandy and fluid yet, but it is far more useful and precise since you can use anything to make it work

In a meeting i can be subtle ab ex. checking my email with a closed pen on resistive...
Can't do that on iPhone and even if it would be resistive... it wobbles...
No the final answer is I won't go capacitative unless its both more precise and other-objects-than-finger- friendly.

And I can't use the tip of my finger on iPhone untill I zoom in quite a lot.

So what will your stance be if next year Nokia releases Maemo 6 phone's with capacitive screens?
Anonymous, 14 Oct 2009you welcome.. fantastic review isnt it? what this device can pull off is amazin..well, after the review I'm convinced that this is my next phone. but the reviewers missed some very important points like tapping on the blurred background of the display will take u to the previous window, and they didn't activated the flip to portrait to open phone mode.
although I didn't know that tapping the right side of the frame would work as a back button, I find that very useful
Anonymous, 14 Oct 2009How About the resistive touchscreen? Isn't Capacitive touchscreen much nicer (Like Iphone)No, altougth it's cheaper, it makes selecting text harder becaus it's unprecise and also barely touching it can activate whatever function is on the screen because it's annoying.
How About the resistive touchscreen?
Isn't Capacitive touchscreen much nicer (Like Iphone)
SymbianWorld, 14 Oct 2009This video shows how the N900 takes advantage of the full QWERTY keyboard. What Video
Anonymous, 14 Oct 2009Why is the N900 not Java compatible?? that would be crap i think because many apps are JavaJava should not be far, coming as libraries/vm like in windows. There is a chance thou it will rather run PC apps than classic java apps/games since all but the web browsers are not apbe to properly adapt to such a high resolution.
