Nokia has relelased a few of these as a pre-realease trialling period. Our phone company was given one, surprisingly in chrome-silver, for pre-release review. I'v been using it for the past couple of days. So far the most outstanding feature is the framerate when watching videos and the lcd sharpness. Other than that the phone has no upsides in comparison to the n97. Its not a comfortable fit in the hand, the qwerty keyboard is too hard to use, and at times, the internet browser drops from 3g to gprs. Perhaps all will be resolved upon release. Other than that, the phone certainly features many technological advancements, such as the ability to write messages through voice recognition and a revolutuionary menu layout.
release in november??why not clear about releas date??sometime october, sometime november
FM Radio is available in N900 as GSM areana states:
Here is a reference from MAemo.org

I don't know if the GSM reception is good, but it's known for sure that the HSPA is (downlink: 10.2 mbps; uplink: 2.0 mbps).
Interestingly the user manual of N900 is already availble at the Nokia US site:
As per Amazon Uk, the release date is 26th October.
I love the concept of this phone and I can't wait to order.
I am a bit dubious about pre-ordering now however, only because of an advert I recently heard on the radio regarding poor reception on new phones generally. It advised testing any new phone out first before committing to it for a long contract period.
Although the N900 has all these features, which I love, what is it like as a phone?
I would hate to find that it has poor reception!! I want it as a phone foremost!
Finally a phone that looks like it will deliver as a converged device. This looks like the best overall spec'ed device around. I'm looking forward to seeing the audio spec of this device. For someone who is not looking for style over function, but function over style this is looking like a real contender. I jumper ship from Nokia years ago, but this one looks like bring me back into the fold. Nice one Nokia, you just need to sort out the price now and I'll being having 1 for me and 1 for the wife. 3GS, N97 or HTC Hero I don't think so.
Does this phone support with Garmin xt mobile?
I'm looking for new phone which support with thast soft, juz like my N82 ^^
Does anyone knows? plz help me out, Thanks ^_^
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970hahaha! very funny, i have an iphone but i'm not one of those you mentioned c",
anyways, ordered the N900 already so that makes me super cool!
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970it would be if everyone would stick to their own brand, instead sony fanboys and apple sheep have a habbit of returning here, interrupting any form of civilized discussion.
It's not the right thing to do but they're too funny not to be subject of mockery...
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I highly agree on that one lol for real i hate apple and apple users alike they have seem to subconsiously brain wash people in to thinking they are much "cooler" if they own an apple device not knowing they are getting ripped off cause they wanna feel "different"
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Right sayed man, that's true, others was saying the same.
Anonymous, 08 Oct 2009nokia is always behind !!!!!!!!!!!!! camera! display! + this phone is away tooooooooooooo heavy!!It's heavy cause it's a solid phone even the E71 is heavy cause it's filled with good stuff and well designed
But if apple had a brick and put the logo on it you would buy it for sure
