my god!!! this phone is damn ausumn its the best phone i have ever had.i love to watch movies on this...
For those who are facing battery and performance issues, I'd suggest you install the latest speed patch and battery patch from extras repository along with kernel-power48. My n900 also suffered from shitty standby and usage times but after doing all this, I get a full day's heavy usage and around 3 days standby... I also suggest you install the battery-eye app so that you can keep an eye on the charge levels and gather stats about usage.
is there going to be an update on the maemo os as seen in the n9 device ?????
Battery life 250hrs standby? I was lucky to get about 18hrs off a full charge. And thats out of the box!
Yes as everyone has stated this phone is amazing. Had it nearly 2 years now, bought on the 19/01/2010 and I am still amazed with its capabilities and I will certainly be keeping this for at least another year because there is still no qwerty smartphone quite like it. Maybe when the quad core 2.5ghz smartphones come out in 2013 I will have a look for a qwerty smartphone otherwise I see nothing in the market to make me want to leave this phone.
Graphics are very good especially if you look at the game Bounce, just shows its potential. 32gb internal memory and now also 32gb memory card is also available. Watching movies on this is excellent especially something atmospheric like Shredder. I have all my work, photos movies, music and other items on here and that's just on the internal memory.
There is now VOICE GUIDED TURN BY TURN NAVIGATION, cannot remember the name of the software but it can be downloaded. Very good quality and actually better than the version on the Samsung Galaxy S2 which my brother has.
Texting, e-mail is so straight forward with the excellent qwerty keyboard, its just amazing. Internet is great and now I do all my shopping using the browser on my n900 where as the internet on my laptop and desktop keep on freezing up. In some cases I have opened 15 web pages and there has never been a problem.
Battery life like all smartphones is a problem, but it is a worthwhile problem if you like the phone. I hope this helps anyone who is thinking about buying this phone, if anyone wants to ask anything they can do.
