i love it...
the new OS, the interface...its WOW...
nokia got their secret weapon..hahaha...
still its better if the CPU is 800Mhz above...
beacuse its features is heavy....
only Xvid not DivX???
brace yourself for another touchscreen device to be announce tomorrow with a code name "Alvin". could this be the Eseries s60v5 phone, the 5900 or the optic touch s60v5 device with qwerty?
apple, you must understand that the world need a qwerty iphone.. dont be such a lame duck.. nokia is so trumping apple right now, its soooo lame..
Really happy to welcome this N900 Qwerty slider by the way of my Great 5730XM family. As a continuation of 5730XM wining this may the another history in the mobile world.
Proud owner of 5730XM............
This looks exciting times for Espoo.
Fact - N97 sucked big time. Why? Because S60 is just not the OS that plays well with the whole touch interface experience. They were great devices and probably are (E-series) with d-pad devices thrown with the S60 3rd edition.
I am a previous owner of Blackberry, iPhone (Non 3G), Nokia, SE, Motorola and Samsung devices.
From my experience, each has it's own strong points. iPhone gave the best OS to a smart-phone. I loved the fact that my ipod and phone were one devices. 1 yr down the line Apps was the best thing that apple came with...But after a while...you just don't have the time. Coming from Blackberry to iPhone was a big challenge..Small things taken for granted like copy, paste and typing with physical keyboard was surely missed. I would never imagine a corporate power user ever be happy with iPhone..and in the same light Blackberry users would love to get some apps from app store..
Coming to Maemo....
I also own N810 device since it came....I absolutely love my device...It is a great OS..but with Maemo 5..they have taken it to a different level..I am a small contributor to Ubuntu community..and I after playing with Maemo 5..I can compare it to the flexibility and stability of Hardy version. It is the best intuitive OS so far on any mobile flatform. I am hoping Nokia can come with a global frequency (although I know that it's getting increasingly impossible to satisfy all UMTS frequency)
As far as Capacitive and Resistive, with today's technology ever evolving..the gap is getting smaller.
I personally prefer Capacitive for playing games or editing a picture on phone..but would prefer Resistive for all other tasks.
As a power user a keyboard is a must..Can't do without it...
5 MP camera is good enough for a phone. I dont want to take 3 and 4 MB size images when I have no plan to print it. Although I would prefer a Xenon flash rather than dual LED flash.
alireza, 01 Sep 2009finally Nokia made it!

hello nokia fans

finally Nokia made it!
now with this open source OS everything is possible , it's time to say bye bye to Iphone
Resistive screens are basically made of layers on top of each other, which is why they need a stylus or something hard to force pressure on it (so the phone registers the input).
data entry tends to be more precise. So it's not that the screen is necessarily more precise, but the tool used on it is.
Capacitives are known for gorgeous displays with fuller, more vibrant color, but users input data using a finger, which isn't too exact.
i wish nokia will start using capacitive touch screens. i mean, this phone would definitely cost a lot so it deserves a more expensive screen.
visit this link to know why resistive screen sucks.
what a waste, resistive screen hahahaha! touch phone must be responsive like the iphone..with resistive screen its annoying you can even used a pen or a stick to touch the screen, while in capacitive it only responds to your finger..ITS A MUST FOR ANY TOUCH PHONE to have a capacitive rather than resistive..that`s why they keep comparing any latest phone to the iphone because they can`t copy the simple touch technology this phone has..plus who would need a qwerty pad a touch phone does`nt need it.
MNX_GSM, 31 Aug 2009 i-phone is the best ... NOT...it was the first to reach a well known status, yes. Same as the Ipods, doesn't mean there was previous versions, or later ones that work better! In fact they did, and do! And if we go to the Ipods for example, Microsoft just gave them a gentle back hand slap with the 1st generation Zune, now...Wait till the Zune HD arrives, they already said they will lower prices and introduce another boring Ipod. And if you compare the next Iphone, tell me it isn't an exact copy of the Zune HD. Hmmmm, what a coincidence!
