You are missing the headsets, holding bag,videocall...that is important,...you have all in the size of your hand...for me is the best...in a few days i'm going to have one...then I let you really know if it is as good as I think...regards...
you are right i was only counting the camera, but $900!! dont you think its too much?
dude. its not the camera.
buying this you are buying
a phone module.
A operating system
a texas instrument chipset 330mhz with 3d acceleration
a mp3 player
a wifi module
a bluetooth module
a fm radio
a 3.2mpx camera with carl zeiss optics and opctical zoom.
a 2.4" LCD screen with a QVGA Resolutin with 260k colors.
a mini sd included in packages
a 3.5mm audio adapter
a dvd with software
an lots of things i am missing here...
And 3mp camera in this phone does't cost $750!!! (lets say that everage cell, phone price is $200, so then it means that Nokia charges $750 for camera in this phone).
REASONS WHY THIS CAMERA is not even worth of $150
-Lens are too small
-Lens located on a side of the camera
-Already visibly from the phone photos, the camera has absolutely no basic manual control
(just like n90)
-Optical zoom is internal and cannot be trusted, just like on Sony's T-series digital cameras!
-Carl Zeiss lens for Nokia , probably made in China
-Absolutle no basic cameras features such as:
Shuter speed control, and ISO setting
I'M NOT BLAMING NOKIS for not putting all those camera features, but without them phone cannot be overpriced!!!!
3mp Sensor (especially if made by Nokia) costs almost nothing!
I will admit, that 30 frames per second video is the best part of this phone!
-Maybe this phone will be fast unlike 6260 and n90.
-Maybe it will have excellent menu navigation (like 6170) and normal sound quality
BUT IN THE END:
$950 for a phone????
Simply the BEST.And if you can't afford it try N90 or N80.To be honest k800 is also a top phone. The decision is yours.
i love it.but cannot afford it.poor guy so for now i am happy with good old samsung d500.plz make cheap n series nokia
You can buy the phone in aluminium grey/white or pearl black. They have made it in 2 colours. The hinge is quite stable. It is all made really solid and stable so it doesn't twist when you're speaking to someone.
Ok you have to admit that the features are pretty good but it isnt just a little too big... its a LOTTLE too big! it is a good phone but also recently when the nokia 6131 came out, nokia gave it a 16 million colour screen and this one only has 256,000. its alot but photos could look as stunning on your phone as they do on your computer. The front screen should have been bigger and i wish it was silver or white instead of black but i think that they should have bothered doing optical zoom. phones are getting smaaler not bigger. and besides what are digital cameras if you have this phone and it must be uncomfortable to talk on because the screen would be twisting all the time.
wow.. d forum here is much more exciting! aheheeh.. didnt know ders a feud goin on.. im a fan of SE w710 and cant wait to get it! i have used a lot of nokia fones before and they are really reliable. it's just that these days nokia has been releasing fones every now and then where one feature wud be missing from the other one or cram all the features into one and have a huge one. which is like the n93... i must admit, it has very good specs but when it comes down to size, it can be a bit bulky for me.. if they trim this down a bit... i might think about getting it too! but hey, they'll probably release a slimmer fone wid features like this in a few months time... until then.. i luv my SE w800 atm! ahahaehehehe....
I'm from the Philippines, and I saw the N93 at gateway mall last july 28 at the Nokia outlet near the movie house. It's in a glass cabinet with all the new releases. It's just a dummy phone though, yet you can actually see how big it is. Rumour has it that it will sell at around Php 40,000 - 43,000 but the guys at Nokia there couldn't disclose the amount yet.
Guys, consider the huge screen that displays crisp and clear images.. It deserves a big size.
if i attach Sony DSC T9 to Sonyericsson M600 smartphone, i m afraid the combined size is still smaller than this brick. So, personally I like this phone design and features, but it is just TOO BIG. Every manufacturer can put everything, of course resulting the huge device. Nokia !! pls make it smaller for next model!! otherwise, not many ppl will buy it.
The price for this multimedia computer (new term for such mobile devices) just fit in with its functionality. Comparing it with the SE K800 in terms of price is relative in terms of what aspect you want.
Personally, K800 does it better in terms of the Photo function, but residing in the camera feature alone does not mean that it is a better device than N93. If your concern is that alone, Why not just buy a digital camera witout compromised quality.
I mean, The N93 offers remarkable specs such as the 2.4" screen w/ vivid display. The newly launch Nokia browser is good considering the Wi-fi function. With its DVD like video recording function with 30fps, it shall set a benchmark for camcorder function concurrent to its other competitor. Other than these, there are lots of features that are never to be compared with other mobile devices.

everybody here seems to know what is RIGHT and what is wrong. Everyone needs to understand that people have different needs. That's why both SE and Nokia offer different types of phones all the time. If everyone was the same, SE and Nokia will only be making one phone each.
Sure SE makes good phones for some people and Nokia makes good phones for some people. What the N93 offers, none of the SE phones offer. That's what makes it different.
Some people will look at the N93 and see it as a huge expensive gadget out to rip holes on your pocket. It will for some people. Some people will love it specially for the features that it offers: 3.2MP camera, optical zoom, 640x480 video with 30fps (wow!), smartphone, WiFi, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth v2, USB v2, IR, etc, etc, etc.
But some wouldn't need all of these, and don't require a 3.2MP camera on their phone. And that's okay, they have their own preferences. They like to bring digital cameras for special occasions.
Some would love to carry N93 anywhere because they are able to use most of the features. Some don't use these features at all.
To sum it up, Nokia has come out with a very great phone and packed it with great features. SE has not come out with one to match it.
All atleast moderately advanced phones have atleast some software instabilities nowadays. S60-based phones have ofcourse more than non-symbians as S60 is a far more advanced an complicated platform...
I also think that it´s stupid to judge the usefulness of a feature, I mean, just if you don´t need or like some feature, like wlan, then I´m sure someone else do. I strongly doubt that any company would insert REALLY useless functions in their models...
umm.. i m not a fan of SE. I ve been using many phs in my life as i crazy changing handphones. I used siemens SL45, SL55,
SE Z600,P900,T68,W800, Nokia 8850,8910i,6600,6260,7610, moto V70,V3, panasonic X70, GD88 , samsung E700,D500,O2 mini etc. All are considered good and popular phs. From my experience, samsung has limited functions with poor batt life. siemens phs have firmware problems . only nokia and SE are not bad.I can only say two thumbs up to nokia designer classic ph like 8910. when comes to smart ph option, I will go for O2 mini or atom. There is NO POINT comparing K800 and N93, becoz they are selling at DIFFERENT price. if u want more, u pay more and u carry big ph. thats all I can say.
From Se user, taken from K800 forum made by Anette:
"I will never, never, never by anything from SE again. Have had K750i for about 2 years and I've had nothing but trouble with that phone. It even got so far so I recived a new phone, nothing helped!
I've booked N93 and will recive it tomorrow.....Thank God!"
