PLEASE DO NOT UPGRADE TO VERSION 20.0.058. It records video in Black & white. I upgraded it and now regret it
I got N93 on 15th January. Great phone, and very big! I wanted to update Firmware but I read in Nokia Official Page that the Firmware Update for this phone is "frozen" since November 2006. The Software 'Nokia Software Updater' (NSU) doesn't offer the latest version of the Firmware, which is 20.0.058. Where can I get it?
My personal review of N93
I've been using both N92 and N93 in the past few days, and trying to compare them
I think its almost as impossible to compare both devices as they look "same style" of device,
the N92 does not support USA TV which is very disappointing (only in Las Vegas)
N93, Great battery life time, one of the most slickest "biggest" phones I've ever used,
The video camera is an amazing quality, pictures at parties, evenings, & other places that a digital camera would just pick up the pictures very bad resolution or just unknown visuals, the Nokia N93 will pick it up amazingly & videos came out in DVD quality.
The web browser is very quick & found no problems with it,
Supports everything and unlike N92 the N93 does have vibration application
Support youtube.com videos (java powered)
Carl Zeiss Optics camera.. as I've written before... amazing pictures/videos.
WiFi Connection which I (NEW YORK RESIDENT) find it to be wonderful I can pick it up anywhere.
& plus to that, this kinda of phone everywhere I go people look at it !
Any more questions dont hesitate to ask.
about previous comment... can ignore it. coz i found out wats the PPT key already.
my N93's processor also running at 206.438 MHz only.
You can find more mobile links here:
I read that the n93 should have a 300mhz CPU but mine is only running att 206mhz.
Anyone who knows the right information or is my phone bad or maby nokia is trying to fool us around. I used the nsysinfo program that is posted att this site to check my n93 please check tours too and tell me if my phone is bad http://my-symbian.com/main/index6.php?cat=6

I wish to inform you that when I was using version 11.0.038 there was no problem. After upgradation to version 20.0.058
the problem cropped which you and your technical team should be aware. Therefore your reply is illogical & unfounded. I strongly suggest that you resolve this problem else I will be constrained to approach consumer court

Greetings from NOkia India Care team.
After considerable fields tests and deliberations, the quality team have arrived at a decision that the N93 video resolution meets the specified standards as mentioned in the User Guide and there is no scope for enhancement.
I wish to thank Nokia on the splendid effort they have made in bringing VGA recording (30fps) to mobile phones. Before the birth of the N93, phone camcorders were rubbish. The N93 raised standards by a great margin. Those of you who complain about the weight (180g) and size should remember that pocket-sized camcorders such as the Canon HV-10 are larger and over twice as heavy (440g). However I an certain that Nokia will work hard to reduce size and weight so that all you guys out there wearing tights won't feel threatened!! A more serious matter is reliability issues. I cannot get the Web browser to work. Evidently it is a softwear issue. Yet on going to Nokia's website we are told that we cannot use the Nokia Softwear Updater for the N93 because of technical problems. It has been out of use since Nov 3rd. When will they sort out this problem? Does anybody know which is the latest firmware??
presently iam using SE k800i,i love n93 can i go for it plz advice abt its camera and video functions.
in reference to other posts about powering off, the faults found in both cases were cases of powering off,
if your handset suffers with this issue you need to return it to where you bought it for an exchange or to have the software reflashed . it is not a case of running to many applications as i n the cases i have previously mentioned nothing was runnjing bar the phone being turned on
I think u r running too many applications that's why ur phone is shutting itself... Try not opening many applications at the same time.. close all the applications that u r not using..
to close apps: press and hold menu key, there ull see all the apps that are opened and press the correction key to close it.. hope i helped..
sold two of these to two of my friends . both developed faults within 2 weeks . the problem with this handset is that its trying to do to much . both of the issues turned out to be software faults , handset turning its self off . i'm not a fan the handset is too large its like having two 6680 glued together i n your pocket (if you can fit itr in your pocket you might need a briefcase) addmitedly the phones spec on paper is pretty much unrivaled , but unfortunatly its inability to perform reliably is a major factor when considering investing best part of 500 pounds . the handset which did develop faults were two of the first i had seen , so they may have got over the teething problems.
buy this phone and you'll be highly dissapointed ( its rubbish)
i guess maybe ur memory card is too big.i experience it's once..dont keep so much things in ur phone..
it's kinda waste of money buying this phone but u know it's worth it.im absolutely not gonna changed my phone about 5 or 6 years time.this phone really enough 4 me.(work hard to buy this phone);satisfied)
"I have a problem with my N93. Sometimes it shuts down without any reason. Could you tell me why ? Thanks!"
