it doesn't support H.264 decoding. I would rather go for the upcoming 8600 luma
i have encountered some problems with my N93i. i hope someone could help me up here.
my dictionary's not working. when i try n open it, this pops up; 'dictionary word information missing. install word database'.
i hv been trying to update my current firmware which is v11.0.009 to the latest one but somehow my computer fails to detect the phone when other activities such as pc suite can detect my phone.
thank u for ur time n troubles
Thank you Babdi I went there and downloaded and you are right, I see the navigator, probably need a bluetooth gps unit, thanks again
Updates are available in Nokia site
I dont know where you are . So giving the link for Nokia Asia pacific site
Thank you for the input. I now know it just an interface with a bluetooth device
u gotta buy a GPS device so it can work. the GPS is a hardware issue not only a software!
I agree on your plus points. However I wish correct a few things.
As you are so I am into photography., That is the reason I am still with the "only" optical zoom camera phone, N-93i.
I have had N-93 which was returned back to Nokia and, as we all know, was full of problems.
Now coming to picture quality, N-93i in night mode does takes good pictures when you compare with say N-93.
The video as you said is outstanding. I have made DVD movies of few events and the movies when viewed on Plasma or LCD is very good.
Again the video shot in night mode does enhance the picture qulaity to a reasonable extent
N-93i is NOT a music phone,it was designed a camcorder phone. Therefore please do not expect the same quality of music as one would expect from a I-Pod or a dedicated music phone.
Finally I agree that Nokia HAS to work on its flash which is dismal. They should have emulated SE which uses xenon lights. Infact the yet to be launched K-850 is supposed to ship with 3 xenon lights.
I think a forthcoming Nokia phone is with xenon lights, dunno which model though :-?
Those of you who have updated their N-93i to version 20 software should find, under application a menu called navigator. This is GPS. Now the question is "Is N-93i GPS enabled ?". This GPS feature got added after the software upgradation. As I understand GPS enabled phones like N-95 has a hardware chip embedded which makes it GPS compliant.
Is N-93i is also a GPS complaint phone, which Nokia kept it under wraps so far ?
It is same software that is used in N-95 and came by default
while upgradation and N-93i is not a GPS enabled phone
I tried working the application and got an message saying GPS satellites not found. Also it id asking if we should enable BT while starting the application.
Can someone clarify please
To Cascotopia, N93i is still the best. Review carefully the user opinions...
hi, i was wonderin how many people would recommend this phone, i am thinkin of buyin on contract for 12 months, and was wonderin whether get this phone, or whether to get another one.
would be a great help
lets get real N93i isnt a crappy fone and it isnt gr8,i was playing with my friend's own and a pretended its was a gun!i mean mobile gun, honestly it aint worth it,
to saliva...how can u even compare N95 to a N93i,physically the N95 beats it hands down,software wise N95 wins,battery wise N95 wins,
have u checked out the sales figures of N93i lately, completely dissappointing. We're in the 21st century everything has to be mobile, compact and sleek.
So do ur research properly,Even the N76 is better than this big for nothing fone!!!!
I am using N93i for 3months..
here are my negative and positive points..
-Bad flash..Sony ericsson is %300better at flashing
-Night Pictures are really bad. You only can use your phone during daylight. The rest is crap.. Believe me I am a photographer..
+Good quality if you take pic under sun.
+Good detailed picz
+optical zoom rox
-Its little hard but not so bad. In time you will able to use it faster
-its kindda hard to find programs for n93i like msn and chating programs..
+the menu is fast..
-quality is not so good..I have used 5300 and n73.. Their quality are better and they are louder..MUCH
+For me n93i is not so big.. especially from n95 n73 and n93 and n93i has the best design for me :)
+The video is good for a mobile phone..I think its the best I have ever saw.. and tested. but again I say the same thing.. u can use it only daylight :) when it gets dark.. its same like a 178x166 QCIF or whatever.. a crap cam.
Whatever you wanna ask.. go ahead.
If you ask me.. n93i is better then n95 and n93. why ?
"i" series are mostly fixed and edited series..n95 is very slow.. 5mp does not mean its better.. the difference with 5mp vs 3mp is just one pic is (eg) 20x30cm the other is 25cm 35cm.. thats all.. btw optical zoom is very necessary.. n95 has GPS too.. but go ask the prices to download it.. I prefer to buy a pda for GPS.. its waste of money to buy n95 just for the camera and GPS..anyway.. your choise.
hi, i have this fone, its the best fone ever, the camera, the music quality, the dsd quality, and the fine is a bit big but trust me.. its the best fone to show off with, much beter than the n95. it fits in2 ur pocket easily =)
just grab one.. don't mind the cost.. it's just simply amazing phone.. and i've owned plenty, one the best nokia phones to date... and with the latest firmware installed its unstoppable!! i wouldn't even dare to trade it wid n95. n95 feels like plasticy and cheap. this ones holds for design and function.. im just mesmerized.. D*mn.. - louie
