dRaven, 17 Dec 2008Update your softwares! Before, I was always on the latest version and it was still hanging. It is a hardware issue, easily fixed though.
Not sure why it happens on some and not on all, apparently not on your n95... but, nokia has sent out a bulletin as a fix for that specific problem...

google for "N95-RM-159_Hang_Reset_solution"
It's a pdf file. Print it out. Take it to a service center (or a tech, mine is out of warranty and i trusted the tech) and let them do the fix...
My phone is on all the time, no hangs or freeze or anything. Oh, it does turn off.. But only when the battery drains or when I turn it off myself :). But hang or freeze? Never in the months after the fix, not once.
Try it... It's like having a new phone altogether.. Oh, and this is only for n95-1...
I had this phone for about two years or pretty much since it came out. It broke my heart though because it froze completely. If anyone has experienced this problem please post a solution. It happened before n I would leave it off for a couple hours, deep reset it and turn it back on then it would be fine. I've been checking it daily but no progress. anyhow even though this problem happened I still recommend this phone to anyone whose budget is around the n95's price range. Great phone, best of its time and the original i-phone killer.
is very expensive, and I dont have money buy to this fone this is a god fone, but shoul more colors for the diferents ages and the people want find a fone for his stile.
for every things this is a fone for you.
I purchased a n95 on a 99 plan and was happy in the first week or 2. After that the phone would turn itself off and freeze from time to time. Then the phone would lock me out and say "Start up failed, conact retailer." This happened 3 times in three months. Each time it took 2 to 3 weeks to fix, Then it happen again. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. I have just ordered an E66. I hope this phone is better. Peace.
does this mobile phone worth?is it good?in my country it'ss 120 euros
shut up man, its even worse if made in your country, it will explode if you click on one button. ignorant.
I bought N95 recently. But I was really disappointed. It is not functioning well. Too slow. It is made in China. I hope someday, Nokia will sell its products to the Philippines that are made in Finland.

Anonymous, 15 Dec 2008hey heard that n95(without internal 8GB) the battery life spent is very short and the screen i... moreBattery life, yeah, not that good... it's only 950mAH as compared to 1000 plus something ont the 8GB version.
Having said that, i've since started using my ipod again for my daily commute, and now i can get a day or two out of one charge, heavy texting, occassional call.
As an aside, one day I noticed my battery life was down to two bars and it was only midday. I found out that text twist turbo was running in the background. Just saying, more apps in the background shortens battery life.
Display is lagging, not so sure about that. Maybe responsiveness on menu selections etc? It's not the fastest, i do sometimes wait for a second or two for an app to open. But hey, I can live with that.
Still a great phone for me, haven't found a feature in newer phones that makes me think of upgrading. Note I said "feature"... Looks alone, iPhone takes the cake. But feature-wise comparison, N95 comes out on top.
Anonymous, 15 Dec 2008my nokia n95 is shaking when i'm using it closed. did you ever had problems with its slidin... moreYeah, one of the faults of N95, the sliding mechanism. There's a lot of rants around the web about that one, and some ingenious ways of solving it... google is your friend..
Tom, 16 Dec 2008V31 has been removed. V30 is the latest at the moment.Hey Tom, where did you read that? That's a bit disconcerting, I've upgraded to v31, and won't be able to downgrade... Any big issues with v31?
jerome - manila, 15 Dec 2008hey eric, i tried to go in the site that you posted regarding on how to update n95 to v31.0.01... moreJust try to google for nss and you can find alternate download sites for it...
The n95 can use 8gb and 16gb cards. Just make sure your firmware is up to date.
hi everyone. After going through all the posts i am now more confused. Do not know whether I should buy the N95 or the N95 8GB. Any advice? Secondly is the N95 upgradeable to 8GB external memory? Nokia's site says it is only upgradable to 2GB but Gsmarena says to 8... not sure which is correct. thx
hey eric, i tried to go in the site that you posted regarding on how to update n95 to v31.0.014 but my problem is that the Nemesis Service Suite i have downloaded is not working, the winrar said that thearchive is either in unknown format or damaged
