Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970yeah and i guess the crime rate is zero from wherever it is you came from?
never had a phone stolen from me (knock on wood) and i've been using a mobile phone since '96. Guess it's just plain dumb luck for some, or some are just plain dumb.
My 2 centavos worth, going stronger against the US cent by the minute...
JaggzInAus, 02 Nov 2008When these came out I heard about so many problems with the firmware and the phone itself. Now... moreThis phone is extremely outdated by now. In a few months many new phones will be released for the same price as this one is now, many people don't even stock this version its so incredibly "old" in the phone world. I hope you didn't pay too much for it.
hey plzzz plzz can anyone tell me a site frm where i can download free n-gage games which support n95
plzz tell me !
When these came out I heard about so many problems with the firmware and the phone itself. Now that I've owned one, my opinion has changed. This simply is the best phone out on the market. The N96 is supposed to be the "replacement" handset, but it will never hold a candle to the original...
This is simply the best phone out today and it's been around for a few years.
hehe sir rnpg...thanks hehehe...I guess you are cool too hehehe ^_^
sir therock-hmm it seems that much wobble would be bothersome...maybe we both should windowshop at ebay hehehehe ^_^
this handset it absolute dog toffy. i had it for about 4 months and from the word go it was a mistake. the buttons fell off, it didnt turn on, screen just suddenly went purple every now and then, and half the applications on the phone wouldnt work, let alone display correctly. so now nokia have the n96, which is just as shit, and just as bulky, what a waste of time. my advice to everyone is either stick to samsung, or keep clear of the n series, as all of them have major problems
therock, 31 Oct 2008is the wobbliness fixable then by yourself? if so, will it be easy? there are no nokia stor... moreIf you have the parts, it's just a matter of getting the right sized torx driver for the 6 screws that holds the rails (3 on each side.) take off the back cover and you'll see what i mean, a black metal bracket on both sides with a white plastic part inside.)

have you tried to replace the metal rail & plastic rail if you thinks it do... moreHey that's ok, I know it's the plastic rails that causes the wobbliness. Just stating that the metal rails are just the brackets that holds the plastic rails in place.
Mine wobbles a bit, but not too much to be bothered by it. if it worsens i'll look for that part ( i wonder if the n95 8gb part is compatible?)
Peace out, we're all trying to help out here and be informed. well, most of us are anyway.
is the wobbliness fixable then by yourself? if so, will it be easy?
there are no nokia stores here in california, USA. The store is in a different state. I talked to nokia USA already and i checked the website. the warranty covers the repair cost. i dont wana send it to them though. problems may occur upon delivery. i dont wana take the chance. it is inconvenient. i only had the n95 for 3 months and it is already like this...a little loose but it is still working and not falling aprt.
i change phones every 6 months or so. so once the nokia tube comes out in the US...i'll buy it.
@ Eric - Manila
have you tried to replace the metal rail & plastic rail if you thinks it dose not work speak to nokia and they will tell you that the new rails stops it i have had it done on my phone and i know of at least 100 at symbian freak Forum have had it done and it works fine no more wobble its hard to say how it fixes it but it does trust me why would i say it does when it doesn't im only hear to help other people with the problems that i've had
Hi all, i think this its the best phone, ever in every aspect, but, i dont, know how can i put the cover of the album when i listen music, i use, the original software, pc suite, and microsoft window media player, and nothing, can anybody help me with this???
therock, 30 Oct 2008i mean it is pretty much the metal brackets on the sides thats causing the looseness and the w... moreThe metal brackets are not the one making it wobbly, it's the white plastic pieces that the metal brackets hold. When you take the metal brackets off, you will see the white plastic rails inside. This is why it slides smoothly.
As a plastic part, it will loosen in time. I've seen some posts on the web about how they put a piece of sticky tape in the white plastic part to make it fit snugly again, but when i tried doing it the space was too small, and i didn't bother. mine wobbles, but not to a worrisome degree.
therock, 30 Oct 2008i mean it is pretty much the metal brackets on the sides thats causing the looseness and the w... moreyeah the rails with mine with mine they only change the right side rail you should take your phone to nokia and say i got a wobble slide i heard that you got some new black rails for the side that fixes it they will no what you mean coz all the new N95's are coming out with the new rails when i got mine it had a wobble then my dad got his about 5 months ago it had the new rail thats how i found out there was new rails coz i took the back off mine and his to see what is the differents you can tell there different
btw nokia girl try dialling *#0000# and post what pops up in here...for us to know what your firmware is
seems like you are using a very old firmware of n95(something that I have not yet experienced, yet it seems it is the firmware used by gsmarena in their n95 review thus thier complaints about the speed of the camera)
you need to upgrade your firmware, just install the pc suite to your pc and connect your phone
the pc suite will prompt you to upgrade your firmware if it is available
and voila! n95 will be the fastest phone you have ever used to date!!!
dear sir daniel, thanks for the advice will try ebay hehehe, actually we have a local ebay ere but sadly I have not yet been able to see someone selling such parts for n95...>_<
dear sir blockthehep
we must make sure that your headset remote control is actually working, try testing your control and headset on another compatible device, or another nseries and try using a different handset with controller on your n95 to see if it works
one thing that I can think of if you didnt do anything to your remote to cause malfunction is that it may have acquired a moisture inside...
good luck sir ^_^
sir therock, how wobbly is your slider? is it as wobbly as say...an n80?
blockthep, 30 Oct 2008Dear sir carloud thank you for your answer. did you mean that i have to change another mem... morei mean it is pretty much the metal brackets on the sides thats causing the looseness and the wobbleness, right?
