Pepsi, 03 Nov 2008This phone is extremely outdated by now. In a few months many new phones will be released for ... morei disagree. this is the only phone which, after 2 years, is not yet outdated and still kicks butts. n95 even has better camera than n96 and n85. n95 also has proper 3d graphics accelerator which n95 and n85 dont have. the only letdown of this phone is the 64mb ram which is only half of the latest s60 phones' ram, and the poor sliding mechanism. but feature-wise, this phone is still up to date. i mean, if i have n95 and i'm a practical person, i will not buy a n82, n85 or n96, for an upgrade becos those phones dont offer so much more of what n95 already has. in comparison to n95, n82 only has xenon flash, n85 has oled screen & fm transmitter, and n96 has dvb-h and 16gb. those things are not worth upgrading for from n95. only very rich and wasteful people change phones every 6 months or so even if they dont get so much more from their new phones.
carloud, daniel, and the n95 users.
Do you ever go the the apple forum to read what iphone users have to say about the n-series or the nokia phones?
i find it interesting that the iphone users claim that it is the best advance phone, yet it is not due to missing features especially the lowgrade camera (not even a flash is included). Apple may have revolutionized the touchscreen part, but Apple is still a baby on making cell phones. I guess their lack of intelligence is making them suckers to buy the iphone and to even claim that the iphone is the BEST phone. They are also saying that the giants of cell phone makers such as nokia, samsung, LG, HTC....etc...copied Apple.
the price of the n95 is worth it. Sure, it is D-pad but worth more than the iphone. Watch out!!...because I know the nokia n-series line up will have a touchscreen.

i was at a halloween party in a club on halloween night. my friends either have iphones or blackberries. the lack of camera flash on the iphone and the lack of a powerful flash on the blackberry made those phones useless on taking pictures in dimmed places. they had to carry cameras to take pics.
i busted out my n95 to take pics. a question mark on their faces on the device i was holding occured instantly..is it a camera or a phone?..what is it?
this "outdated" device you claimed still kicks ass. the iphone is by far centuries behind on its camera.
if you smell what the rock is cooking!!
luisito, 03 Nov 2008carloud thanx for all the opinions and help here:) my n95 doesnt feel wooby even it has falle... morechange the product code and try an update again. v30 firmware has built in screen rotate based on phone orientation. Still slow to take pics (slow to focus, add to that if you save pics to memory card. i save it to phone memory then just transfer afterwards. makes the prompt processing image go away much faster.) no shutter click? silent mode does that, doesn't it?
carloud thanx for all the opinions and help here:)

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Meant N96, as the original poster mentioned as one of his choices. Innov8 is good as well, i heard, haven't used one yet though.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970M8800 Pixon? Can't compare this against the n95. At least compare the n95 against something that has WiFi, a xenon flash and a decent OS...
The rock, 31 Oct 2008How do fix the plastic part then? What do you use to fix itSee this... copy the link and remove the spaces...

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970yeah and i guess the crime rate is zero from wherever it is you came from?
never had a phone stolen from me (knock on wood) and i've been using a mobile phone since '96. Guess it's just plain dumb luck for some, or some are just plain dumb.
My 2 centavos worth, going stronger against the US cent by the minute...
JaggzInAus, 02 Nov 2008When these came out I heard about so many problems with the firmware and the phone itself. Now... moreThis phone is extremely outdated by now. In a few months many new phones will be released for the same price as this one is now, many people don't even stock this version its so incredibly "old" in the phone world. I hope you didn't pay too much for it.
hey plzzz plzz can anyone tell me a site frm where i can download free n-gage games which support n95
plzz tell me !
When these came out I heard about so many problems with the firmware and the phone itself. Now that I've owned one, my opinion has changed. This simply is the best phone out on the market. The N96 is supposed to be the "replacement" handset, but it will never hold a candle to the original...
This is simply the best phone out today and it's been around for a few years.
hehe sir rnpg...thanks hehehe...I guess you are cool too hehehe ^_^
sir therock-hmm it seems that much wobble would be bothersome...maybe we both should windowshop at ebay hehehehe ^_^
this handset it absolute dog toffy. i had it for about 4 months and from the word go it was a mistake. the buttons fell off, it didnt turn on, screen just suddenly went purple every now and then, and half the applications on the phone wouldnt work, let alone display correctly. so now nokia have the n96, which is just as shit, and just as bulky, what a waste of time. my advice to everyone is either stick to samsung, or keep clear of the n series, as all of them have major problems
therock, 31 Oct 2008is the wobbliness fixable then by yourself? if so, will it be easy? there are no nokia stor... moreIf you have the parts, it's just a matter of getting the right sized torx driver for the 6 screws that holds the rails (3 on each side.) take off the back cover and you'll see what i mean, a black metal bracket on both sides with a white plastic part inside.)
daniel, 31 Oct 2008@ Eric - Manila
have you tried to replace the metal rail & plastic rail if you thinks it do... moreHey that's ok, I know it's the plastic rails that causes the wobbliness. Just stating that the metal rails are just the brackets that holds the plastic rails in place.
Mine wobbles a bit, but not too much to be bothered by it. if it worsens i'll look for that part ( i wonder if the n95 8gb part is compatible?)
Peace out, we're all trying to help out here and be informed. well, most of us are anyway.
is the wobbliness fixable then by yourself? if so, will it be easy?
there are no nokia stores here in california, USA. The store is in a different state. I talked to nokia USA already and i checked the website. the warranty covers the repair cost. i dont wana send it to them though. problems may occur upon delivery. i dont wana take the chance. it is inconvenient. i only had the n95 for 3 months and it is already like this...a little loose but it is still working and not falling aprt.
i change phones every 6 months or so. so once the nokia tube comes out in the US...i'll buy it.
@ Eric - Manila
have you tried to replace the metal rail & plastic rail if you thinks it dose not work speak to nokia and they will tell you that the new rails stops it i have had it done on my phone and i know of at least 100 at symbian freak Forum have had it done and it works fine no more wobble its hard to say how it fixes it but it does trust me why would i say it does when it doesn't im only hear to help other people with the problems that i've had
