Nokia has a new firware 11.0.026 and the old one was 10.0.018. It is 115.4 MB. I believe by now everyone knows how to update the firmware.

stupid phone
slow processor
poor GPS
a dustbin is the place where it should be.......
hi all
had this phone for 14 days and sent it back to o2. now dont get me wrong its a nice looking phone with some interesting features, but the supposed big step fucntions ie camera and gps really did not live upto expectations.
the cameras flash was nothing short of pointless and this made the camera look...well cheap.
the gps is basically the moving version of a map made from paper.....pointless and really hard to understand. it takes ages to find a signal, voice is chargeable and i found it very unreliable.
decided to go for the xda orbit with o2 and i have to say the sat nav is amazing. really pleased with the handset so far. ok camera only 2 mp but thats y i went and bought a 7.4 megapixel camera for 80 quid.
my advice get the orbit, the n95 is ok but the novelty wares off very very quickly.
gaz
matan don't afraid ! i'm from iran and in my country is available ! come to my country and buy it !! :))
i must say that this phone is the ugliest phone ever seen!
Great looking phone and a great performer. like Nokia says, it's truly amazing "what computers have become". Great screen, powerful processor with 2D/3D graphics and video acceleration, all connectivity and data transmission options including HSDPA, WLAN b/g, UPnP, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR, fantastic camera letting you take still pictures with quality comparable to amateur digicams and record video clips of mini-DV quality, great audio and video playback capabilities, TV out connector, built-in GPS receiver and good mapping software - everything inside small, light and extremely good looking housing. What's left to say... GO, GET IT!
What I liked:
- powerful ARM11-based TI OMAP2420 processor running at 330 MHz
- superb 5 MPix Carl Zeiss Tessar camera with autofocus
- HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, UMTS, EDGE
built-in GPS receiver
- high quality, huge 2.6" TFT screen
- quadband 850/900/1800/1900 GSM, 2100 WCDMA
- Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g 54 Mbps
- Bluetooth 2.0 EDR (3 Mbps)
- A2DP profile for stereo audio over Bluetooth
- TV-quality video recording @ VGA resolution and 30 frames per second
- good build quality, elegant design, good size and weight
- standard 3.5 mm mini-jack A/V out connector
USB 2.0 Full speed via USB Mini-B connector
What I didn't like:
- the sliding part should have a lock to prevent it from sliding out (and unlocking the keypad) in your pocket
- the sliding part is a tad too loose - moves and rattles
- 22 MB free RAM is certainly too little for such a powerful device
- incorrect white balance in certain lighting conditions (purplish hue).
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA,
Finally the Nokia N95 review is here.
Hey guys I'm gonna blow yr head. finally new firmware released. only 115mb.check it out on www.symbian-freak.come on
I own this phone, as the review has it there's just as many 'cons' as 'pros' however someone name a phone without these 'cons'. And if you think these cons make this phone crap, since it's been rated the best mobile in the world at the present time that must be saying the rest of the phones are REALLY crap.
being as unbiased as possible.
Battery Life i admit sucks under heavy usage however i'm in school so i don't use taht hardcore during the day but at night i do so i recharge every night which isn't a hassle for me, the battery has lasted me 2 days the longest and that's without wireless usage only music playback for a few hours and the rest standby also 30 mins of video (roughly).
Features are great i'm still amazed at the wireless function.
GPS i haven't used and can't be bothered i feel that it's a gimmick
Screen not as great as N80 as the review said though i have never own an N80 i chose to wait for this due to N80's size and weight.
Dual slide feature is awesome it's more for show however you can fast foward video's which is a very nice feature that i think most other phones don't have.
3.5inch headphone jack is a major selling point i can connect it directly into our car.
The body looks like it's been made from cheap plastic but the weight of the phone is very surprising, much lighter than my previous 6230.
The bad thing is the loadups, going frmo a s40 user interface to a s60 one is a bit hard, waiting for menus to load sometimes are annoying but once you have the programs running you realise the wait was DEFINITELY worth it.
They cheaped out not giving us a version of quickoffice where you can edit files!!!! which is probably the worst con of this phone.
The only thing that i found tough or no really fine is in the map loader from the PC it does not show the maps that are allready in. All the rest is absolutly fine.
N95 is the best phone in the market since N90 (my current phone - biased - haha!). How I love to buy this phone as soon as I have the purchasing power to do so. It's currently sold in the Philippines @ P38-P40K, I would probably wait for a year and a half before its price drops to an affordable level. N80 for example still sells at a hefty P22K, the second feature-rich phone next to the N95.
The only drawback to this phone is the poor battery life which can be remedied by frequent charging or via a novel solution: buy extra batteries. Haha. This is what I did with my N90. I frequently use the phone as a modem, gaming, etc. and use a spare battery when charging is not possible (e.g. during travel).
Another thing that bothers me is the silver finish of the context keys. I hope that they don't fade so as to preserve the phone's aesthetics.
I wish someone would give this phone to me as a gift... Haha!
there is barcode reader on the phone but i dont use it cause i see no point in it but it is on the phone and works fine....but the barcode reader is to decode encrypted images and not the barcodes on the food, can, chips and stuff like that
there wont be no nokia n95i...if there will be we will see it only in around 6 month or more
i have just been told by a voda rep that this phone has a built in barcode reader i find this hard to belive and wondered if anyone knows if it is infact true..........
