Th... moreWell done, you went and contradicted your previous post. :) all i said was correct, you on the other hand are desperatley trying to justify why someone should buy a N82 over a N95-8gb, and you are doing a bad job at it,realy. By the way its NOT about what the other can over another since we both know that both these phones similar hardware, its about WHICH DOES IT BETTER and THATS the point, N82 is meant to be Nokia's Camera Flagship thats why it has a xenon flash, candy bar form and smaller screen, whereas N95-8gb is aimed at Ngage gaming,Movies/Video, and Music and it does these better than N82 thanx to N95 having Music keys/Gaming keys, larger display and larger batt. At the end of the day a hardcore Symbian S60 user will choose a N95-8gb due it being far more convenient thanx to the extra keys etc. . . and the average will take the cheaper N82 for taking pics etc. . . Now do us all a favour and get back to N82 forum, if the N82 was so good you wouldn't be here.
I am not being too technical here. But I already know those things. And let me correct you. The DSP runs at 220mhz not 210.What I said was the N82 doesn't have a dedicated audio chip. It is the DSP that handles all audio processing. Do you remember the N93-N73 tandem? N93 was the flagship multimedia device focusing on video and N73 was the imaging flagship. The difference between those two are like heaven and earth. N93's price at that time was as hefty as its feature sets. While N73 has a modest feature set and reasonable price enough to attract consumer attention even up to now. Then came the new tandem N95 8GB-N82. The difference or should I say, the gap between N95 8GB and N82 is no longer as huge or as wide as was the gap between N93 and N73. Back then, N73 became very successful commercially in expense of N93's flop because it was very affordable not because it scored better in benchmark tests than N93. And today, most people buy N82 instead of N95 8GB because not only is N82 very affordable but also because of the very fact that N82 is basically an N95 8GB in a very popular candybar form factor, with better camera and is a lot more practical. Who wouldn't favor the N82 for those matters? Do you know why N95 8GB and the standard N95 are still unreasonably expensive today despite of their age? It is because even up to now, consumers are still paying dual slide patent on that phone. And let me give you a picture. An N73 user did envy the N93 user because the latter can record DVD-like videos that can be beamed straight on a TV screen, as well as use internet over WLAN. But no way that an N82 user will ever envy an N95 8GB user because the former knows that his phone can do everything what the latter's phone can. See the picture. That is why more people prefers an N82 over N95 8GB.
aaron, 07 Apr 2009N82 is the worst in sound in the Nseries? And N95 8GB has better sound than N82? Are you kiddi... moreHaha:) You should really be a novel writer lol...sci-fi novel writer that is. You worry too much mate:)
aaron, 07 Apr 2009N82 is the worst in sound in the Nseries? And N95 8GB has better sound than N82? Are you kiddi... moreYour lack of knowledge is hilarious. ACTUALY the N82 has a audio chip, i am well aware of the hardware, the N82, N93/93i, N95/95-8gb and E90 all have the TI OMAP2420 chipset, this has a dual cpu at 332mhz, the PowerVR MBX2 GPU at 220mhz AND a audio chip DSP by StarCore at around 210mhz plus the other little things, i know my hardware. The reason why people choose N82 over N95-8gb is not because of some benchmarking test, but because the N82 is cheaper, THATS A FACT, plus if you had a brain you'd realise that the only reason why N82 gave a better score is because it has less to cope with, it has a screen thats 0.4inchs smaller, less internal mem and no large flash mem like N95-8gb so that gives the N82 an edge, BUT in real life useage theres absolutely no difference realy. OH And by the way the N93 gave the best scores, why arent many people buying that then? Please, try being logical. The N81 is well priced, its the N82 thats constantly dropping in price.
N82 is the worst in sound in the Nseries? And N95 8GB has better sound than N82? Are you kidding? I have N82 and N91. I'm not an audiophile but I'm a music freak. N91 has the best sound quality I've ever heard among all music players. And you know what? N82 is not up to the level of sound quality of N91. It's understandable since it doesn't have an dedicated audio chip. It's not as loud as N91. But N82 has deeper bass than N91. And comparing N82 with N95 8GB, both on v31 fw, N82 has noticeably better and louder sound than N95 8GB. Even regular people will notice that. My classmate has N95 8GB and many times I've played with his phone. I even install Futuremark SPmark both on his and my phone. And the 3D tests I've got, the N82 wins based on the figures. If N81 is priced just the same as N82 then N81 is unjustly priced. Who would buy N81 if for the same price you could buy an N82? Do you think that the better sound quality of N81 is more worth it than the best image quality of N82? N82 does not have poor hardware. In fact, N82 and N95 8GB are 90 percent identical in hardware terms. The only thing that differentiates them is the form factor, screen size and the flash. In software terms, N82 and N95 8GB are even more identical. You navigate the menus of both N82 and N95 8GB and you will see that they are totally the same. Again, the only thing that differentiates them, software-wise, is the performance. That is what I'm trying to point out here. N82 and N95 8GB basically are the same. They have the same camera specs, same CPU, same RAM, same GPS receiver, same DSP chip, same graphics chip, but look. N82 performs better on all these accounts. N82 shoots much much better pictures, N82 has much much faster GPS. N82 has better sound. And N82 handles better graphics based on SPmark tests. So why do people choose N82 rather than N95 8GB? Because they realize that N82 is an N95 8GB that performs much better on everything.
I am sorry but I at mobile store in Brooklyn have and used both, ad yes if you can afford get N95 and no N82 is not all that but for money it's totally worth it.
hi all nokia user,
N95_8gb & N95 still the top of all nokia models, very hi features, comfotable in using & writing, no hanging, much software avalible, and still has hi price too thats mean it is very goooood, also made in korea not ugly china made other nokia models which are really bad, i had N78, N79, N81_8gb, and other china made nokia, really very bad go away from them, try always to buy korea, hungary or germany made nokia
I couldn't careless. The majority of users out there are N82 users such as yourself who couldnt afford a N95-8gb and now are jealous. The N82 is NOT better than N95-8gb at sound, M-R Forums who did real tests confirms this, N82 is THE WORST at audio in the current Nseries range. In the end it all depends on the user, and for MY NEEDS the N95-8gb is far better, if the N82 was so good it WOULDNT be dropping in price the way it has been,at some point both N81 and N82 were similarly priced LOL! Yet N95-8gb is still sitting way up there. The N95-8gb is good at all it does,im glad its not just good at ONE thing and bad at the rest like N82. Go back to N82 forum, this is over.
Yep, the N86 8mp is what im aiming for next, but still very happy with my N95-8gb :)
Try to google 'N82 vs. N95 8GB'. And you'll see that 8 out of 10 sites proclaim that N82 is the winner in its battle with N95 8GB. You can count on your fingers the number of people who agree with in saying N95 8GB is better than N82.
Xenon flash doesn't make the colors appear washed out. LED flash does. Nope. N82 has much better sound quality than N95 8GB. It has deeper bass, louder volume and clearer, crisper sound output. The ideal music listening experience is through the headphones. And N82 is a clear winner in that area. And as I'm googling ''N82 vs. N95 8GB', there are so many sites that have put these 2 devices head to head. And guess what? Most of them proclaimed that N82 is way ahead of N95 8GB. So I'm not the only one with this opinion. Most people think the way I do. And for the record, I never like the N95 8GB. It doesn't specialize on anything. N81 beats it in sound quality. N82 beats it in camera quality. N96 beats it in video playback quality. N85 beats in battery life. N95 8GB doesn't excel on anything. It's a flagship device, very expensive but only average. But I'll give N95 8GB the credit for the most stunning look among all Nseries. N95 8GB is for average people who are not after the best sound, image, video quality but want only an all-in-one device. That's all.

I can't wait for N868mp to come out which again doesn't dramatically improve what N958gb is offering for 2 years....Let's face it guys - recession has got the phone marked too:)
n95.8gb one off the best phones yet the ngage program is exelent the 5 mega pixel as well thos ho dont like it can just not afford it thats all n95 8 gb sambian o9 s60

Since it has Music keys that can be used as Gaming keys as well with Magic key when in landscape, this makes it far more practical to use for Gaming,Movies and Music, the large 2.8inch screen although at QVGA res STILL looks brilliant, its a lot brighter and vibrant than N82's,this makes the N95-8gb perfect for Movies,Music videos etc...The location of its 3.5mm jack is just fine for my Sennheiser CX300s when playing Ngage games in landscape and watching movies. So what who cares if the N95-8gb doesnt have a xenon flash? Not everyone cares for taking pics with a phone especialy at night, and the N95s LED does a good job for my needs,Xenon can sometimes make things too bright and colours appear washed out,so realy a xenon is not that important. The N95-8gb also has much better sound quality, unlike N82 which gives soft muffled sound through both loudspeakers and headphones.N95-8gb is loud, clear and bassy even through loudspeakers. The built-in 8gb is fine for me,i dont store too much in my phones. The N95-8gb has excellent battery life, can get a full day of heavy use,its got demand paging for low power consumption just like N81,N82 and FP2 devices, plus it has a much larger batt capacity than N82. It sounds to me like you're not satisfied with your N82 so you come here and post a to try convince yourself that N82 is better, its a nice phone but it lacks things i have come to love in my N95-8gb.

Even most mobile phone reviewers are... moreI know mate - it's hard to except that a two year old phone kicks ass of all the new units but that's just the case here. Don't get too upset, you should have spend a few extra bucks and get an allround excellent device. All the owners of N958gb know why they're sticking with their units - because there's no fair replacement. That's just the way it is - reviews cannot match real-life experience and performance. Run along now:)
I'm not the only one who says N82 is better than N95 8GB. Even most mobile phone reviewers are one in saying that N82 is better than N95 8GB, not just in camera, but in almost every aspect.
When it comes to music, N82 is still better even with the lack of music keys.
The list could go on. And N95 8GB has no chance against N82. The only thing that N95 8GB beats the N82 is the screen dimension. But for anything else, N82 kicks the N95 8GB out of its thrown.

It seems you want N958gb and can't get it for some reason:)
Doesn't it seems strange that we could sell our one year or even older N958gb and get a new N82 and could still buy our friends couple of drinks, but we don't do that. It's not because we're proud or hardheaded, it's because doing that would be just plain stupid. Xenon flash is the only thing that N82 has better, but i'll trade bigger screen, better battery and smoother and faster software and 8gb memory onboard for Xenon anytime. So yes, i've used them both and one of them i'm not using anymore and u don't see me posting on the N82 section how it sucks. So run along over there if u want people to agree with you - here you won't find any:) Regards!
