I picked this phone 3 weeks ago. And like the phone The battary life is good I have listened to 3 podcasts over the past couple of days. up until yesterday afternoon when the battery went flat coming home.
I had the n95-2 8gb which I loved. I just purchased the n95-4 nam and overall is the better phone for the US. I assume in using dual mode in network settings that it will allow me to use it in Europe. I can't upgrade to the newest firmware as I was able to do with the N95-2 because there is no upgrade for the US version.
Can anyone tell me if you were to put contacts into a group, can you set them a ringtone AND a message tone?
I will be so grateful for your reply
Can somebody tell me which phone is the best in sound quality nokia N95 8GB or N82?
Blacklisting is something done by the network provider. IE if your with Vodafone you would call them and give the IMEI number and they can blacklist the handset for you. Therefore there is a chance if you buy a second hand phone that they could blacklist the handset making it immobile for anyones use.
If someone stole 50 handsets from the store then by stock check they would be able to see what IMEI's were missing and still blacklist the phone.
It is impossible to unblock a blacklisted phone therefore making them useless to the owner.
Stealing a phone isn't worth it because blacklisting is so easy that people could only sell the phone on for parts which you dont get much for anyway.
just took delivery of a 3000mah battery for my n95 .. it should boost standby ..
I have got this phone and i love it. there are so many things you can use it for. if you are in doubt about getting it, re-think, you NEED this phone.
And to answer Lee's question, there is a program called RotateMe where you turn the phone and the screen will adjust to the phones orientation. this app is currently un-certified and on Beta and should be certifically released for the public soon.
What's the thing about Nokia being able to blacklist stolen cellphones? Is this real? I mean, how does it work? Somebody buys a phone, say, from O3, then looses it accidentally, he reports it to O3; then O3 reports it to Nokia, then Nokia reports it to all operators (Orange, Vodafone, etc.)?!
I mean, come on! What about when someone chooses to sell his phone, then actually scams that buyer, and reports him to Nokia?
Are we supposed not to buy anyone's old cellphone any more?!
On the other hand, say the thief is gonna steal 50 pieces out of a store, so they are in thier boxes, sealed. People!!! The store owners don't even know what specific phone, I mean, IMEI code was stolen! The IMEI doesn't appear on the box, and to look for it in every device would be a waste of time!
If anyone does know something about this, for sure, then, please, write it here!
where can we get the latest firmware of the N95(8GB)? can anybody post a link.. thanks
Is there any sound/Audio quality difference between N95 8GB and N82 through stereo Blutooth headphone?
It's so "fat and AGLY" (quoted from person below) And the N81 is so purty...
I can see how it may appear the N95 is better but i am still not convinced. I hate the way it slides both ways makes me think it may one day slide off completely.
Good phone, but this phone eat to much food, because it looks FAT and AGLY..
Well I've owned both the N95 (great camera, rubbish GPS) and the N95 8GB, and the 8gb version blows the previous version out of the water.
The display is better, camera is as fab as before, the GPS actually works on the 8gb version without having to use a separate modem.. it's amazing!
It came with operator firmware on it, but de-branded the phone using a £2.95 purchase from eBay, and it runs alot fast now there's no operator firmware on it.
Highly recommend this handset, and totally recommend de-branding it then installing any operator settings you need for Internet and MMS etc from the Nokia website, or using the Settings Wizard on the phone.
Great battery life, even with loads of internet browsing, great call quality - even the music player is good, although I use a phone as a phone/browser, and use my iPod Touch for playing music.
To sum up - a brilliant handset and I can't recommend it highly enough!
