Does anyone know whether or not this phone is better than the sony ericsson p1i?
i know the p1i has a qwerty keyboard which makes a big dif and looks a lot better all around so what do you guys think?
N95 users are all screwed with the so many different types of N95s that are coming out now, one with a much higher battery and 3.5G, and another with 8GB and NO card slot!!!
Man, what will Nokia do next? Make it so that the N95 is as glossy and game friendly as the N81?! lololololololololol
GG Nokia. Y'shouldve made just ONE version of it all in one. Should've tested the battery WAY before you released it, and should've known people wanted 3.5G capability with their MUCH NEEDED internal/highly expandable memory.
Too bad they're not moving like SE is. Because WLan is WAYYYYY overkilled. Portability with 3.5G at soon to come 7.2 Mbps speeds beat the WLan speed of 5-10Mbps random speeds, where the speeds usually sit around the lower levels because of mass usage or regular ISP conditions. 3.5G is a single source direct connection, and is in MUCH HIGH demand from cellphone users, lovers and noobs alike. They want their internet, and they want it now. Not after the connection searches, registers and sets an IP address.
I know, I know... the N95 8GB is great and everything...Drawbacks or not... But I`m still going for the SE W960... Guess I`m more of a walkman person!
thats pretty damn gay...i JUST bought a n95 and im receiving it tomorrow and this comes out...comon..........:(
no card slot?? i thought it was gonna come with one.... oh well 8gb is more then enough anyways
Yep!!! Sirf Star III chipset for the GPS, QWERTY keyboard and a VGA 3.0 inch screen + 128MB RAM and fast processor! Right on the money!!!
Man this phone is cool, but now... what do i do with my Nokia n95 ??? 8gb is perfect and for GPS map storage since 2gb micro is all i can get now for my N95. But i am still disappointed because nokia totally Ban the Nokia n95 phone in the gutter and come out with this one, now i have to buy another n95 just because of that 8gb and longer battery life.
2.6 to 2.8.. i just love the big screen. the upgrade is much better than wat they did wif N91 8GB.. imagin.. N91 8GB upgraded if a QVGA screen..
Two thousand apologies: if I can just indulge you in my chat for a few seconds. I have visited Nokia's website and I am worried. It is clear they do not want to give the customer detailed information. You look under technical specifications subheading "memory" and not one iota of information on RAM. You look for processor speed; yet again on info. You look for the type of chipset used in the GPS and guess what?...no info. I wonder what Nokia are playing at?? Why are they so secretive?? My advice for any future N9x series is: use a Sirf Star III chipset for the GPS. Design a slideout QWERTY coupled with a VGA 3.0 inch screen; 128MB RAM and fast processor.
A thousand apologies; sorry to flog this point but Nokia do not have one single VGA resolution phone in its entire range!! The E90 comes close but it is still sub-VGA. If Nokia want to be far ahead of the competition that is the way to go. A 16M colour VGA screen is unbeatable for a 2.8 to 4.2 inch screen. I was hoping that this new Nokia would come with VGA res but it looks like Nokia are not willing. Mind you the phone has not been released yet. They can still make modifications. They really should include expandable memory. It simplifies transferring files from phone to phone or to a computer's memory card reader.
It could have been the best phone ever. Lack of optical zoom and lens-cover are the biggest backdraws. In my humble opinion Nokia is doing a great Job but a little bit to fast. Sony Ericsson is doing better bringing high-end phones with almost perfect usability. No doubt the N95-8GB is on the top but what do the N95 owners say about that? I do not like Nokia´s way of thinking They bring phones to the market and try to solve the problems releasing a similar model. Please create a new powerful battery for the "old" N95. To all gsmarena-readers: Have a nice day!
Well everything is great but the no memory card space kills it. I have the N95 and i love it. Ill make sure to get this one too.
From what I can see this phone definitely has more high grade features than SE W960. Yet again Nokia have outsmarted SE!! This phone has the SAME dimensions as the original N95 with only a slight increase in weight. As "xAck" said the increase in screen size while keeping the same width as the original is quite a feat! But...I always look for the best in a phone and some issues concern me. A sophisticated device like this should have a QWERTY. Nokia are too secretive about processor speed and RAM. The spec on this site does not tell us. VGA res on large screens is the future- check Eten X800. Note it appears as if Nokia stuck the E61i screen on this device.
I am getting the preproduction of this phone. Hopefully it will arrive in the next few days.
i start saving now, so i can buy one when it available in US with 850/1900 nhz 3.5G band. it worth it, even i spend $750 for it.Actually, i save more money, cause i dont have to buy $300 phone + $250 ipod + $300 GPS receiver + $250 camera + $250 PDA.
all the phone company in the world should learn how to make phone like NOKIA even a good engineering SONY. look at the N95 8gb, Nokia did a good job by putting a monster 2.8 LCD screen into a narrow 53 mm width. Other company need aleast 58 mm or even 60mm width to have a 2.8 screen. excellence job NOKIA. NO wonder you are the #1 phone maker in the world.
