People! People! There is nothing wrong with the phone. It's absolutly perfect. All you need to do is to upgrade the firmware for the phone from the following Nokia site:
http://europe.nokia.com/A4577224
The latest running version of the firmware is 12.043. It is running perfectly fine on my phone. Upgrade to unleash the true N96. :-)

Superb multimedia device.iv had this phone 4 a month now and i love it. Al u hav 2 do is update the firmware using Nokia Software updater! 2 the latest firmware v12.043 2 check if u hv the latest firm ware .
On standby mode typ *#0000# then it wil show. Myn came with v10.0... Out of the box. 2 realy expirience the sound quality of the N96 u need 2 get a new pair of headphones il be geting the Bose On Ear .soon. This isnt a great typing phone coz the buttons are realy hard and they make u work. So dose the slider wobble aftar a while . My advise is if u a hard texter and instant mesanger then dnt get this phone. If nt then its a perfect multimedia device!

I can successfully transfer still images from the N96 to my Mac but not video clips . any suggestions ?

I buied this phone few days ago and it`s the worst phone i`ve ever had!Bad sound quality,leak sound it lags a lot even in the menu,the n-gage lags too it`s bad for gaming it wants internet connection even for the gallery,the zip manager is unusable,the GPS doesn`t work and the Symbian OS has meny bugs.It`s the worst phone Nokia ever made.And look at the price!

Dear all users of Nokia N-96. I am going to buy new phone but i am little confused about which one is funcionality wise and specification wise best cell phone to buy. I read about N-96 Compair with E-90. I want some of comment's from all of user's who use these phones & can share comment's about Nokia N-96 and Nokia E-90 . Thanks for your intentions

I bought this phone 15 days ago but i do not have any kind of problem with phone , also i updated the software by going to nokia site and then in the support section go to find phone updates. i updated it to the latest firmware. this phone is ausum !!! it rocks !!!
Ummmm...one problem.. all the games in it are trial versions except the tetris..even snake is in trial version man !!!!
Rest everything perfect and ok !
to get the best pictures i suggest that you use picture settings tool of this phone to snap according to your enviorment whether dark or bright etc!
Conclusion: Go man buy this phone . its really good and not slow. those who say its slow actually they have not bought the phone and they try to misguide or mislead.

New Year, New Phone.. I bought this thing last Jan 1. Has the latest firmware version.. OS 9.3, sadly, hacking softwares for installing unsigned applications are not yet supported.
