I had N96 for nearly four weeks. Problem after problem . Worst of all - terrible reception. What is the point of a state of the art phone you can't use?
Swaped itfor an htc tytn11 and not looked back.
Ok no flash and only 3mp camera . Only 3mp?--who do I think I am-David Bailey???That's good enough for mms and snapshots.
But I DO get excellent reception, hsdpa most of the time.A bit of a 'strange' phone at first, but once you realise you are holding a computer in your hands, and get your head round the windows operating system then you can't put it down. Brilliant. Always loved nokia's but they have shot themselves in the foot with this one < and their custoners in the wallet>.Suggest you look at htc as an alternatiive to the N96 if you are unhappy.
iolo003, 08 Nov 2008samsung innov8 is so Nokish, tried to copy Nokia but cannot emulate it.you say "samsung innov8 is very noki(a)sh". how come? look at the design. it's very much samsung! and even in features, innov8 is samsung in and out. there is no single nokia phone that has 8mp camera, 120fps video record, dnse audio technology, divx plugin, optical mouse, 450mhz processor... so how come did u say innov8 is very noki(a)sh?
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Dude, half your facts are wrong. I8510 uses a TI OMAP 450mhz processor. It has a bigger battery, but battery life is the same as n96 (check smape.com + user opinions).
Why dont you post those facts of yours in the i8510 forum? They are not needed here.

Worst handset i have ever used, freezes, turns off itself, changes ringtones by itself, is as slow as a week in the jail!
Stay well away from this phone!
Also stay well clear of Vodafone with this handset as their customer service is a disgrace, they wont help you at all and the continue selling such a hopeless handset! Im putting it back in box and in desk drawer, never using it again!

nokia n96 iz the best, very good colour, camera and video quality excellent fone!!!
I cant believe you guys are still going on about this n96/i8510 crap. If you dont like n96, dont come here saying silly things about it or nokia. Why byther? Both phones have their fans, but you dont have to be a fanboy posting on the wrong forum.

iolo003, 07 Nov 2008wrong, N96 was not overhype, its underated by haters in this page. besides N96 is marketed ... moreyou said, "it just so happened that N96 targeted a wider consumer, people who likes TV and Video more than camera so it gain more attention than innov8." most people who buy n96 don't use it for video and tv. the main selling points of n96 are not demanded by the people who buy it. they don't even ask for it. n95 8gb is already a very great video/media player, and so is n95. and mobile tv? there is even no dvb-h service in the united states nor there will ever be in the future. even in uk where nokia is popular, dvb-h is not yet widespread. ive never seen anybody in this thread who praises n96 because of its video and tv functions. there are even a lot of people who don't know what dvb-h is. so how come video and tv will be much more desired by people than 8mp camera? people just like this phone because it is named "n96." and they hate it because it has nothing much more to offer considering its hefty price.
i've had the n96 for about 3 weeks, my previous one was the n95. i love the 96 , only problem is compatibility issues with the 903 bluetooth stereo headset. other than this i have no crash issues.its a great phone easier to use than the n95 especially when using web based applications. well done nokia.
Anonymous, 07 Nov 2008it is actually R11000!!!!!!go 2 bruma flee maket....and u can get it 4 r7 000 or r6 000....

besides N96 is marketed ... more"besides N96 is marketed on a different segment, TV and Video while innov8 on 8MP.. it just so happend that N96 targeted a wider consumer, people who likes TV and Video more than camera so it gain more attention than innov8. Sorry but the battle between the two was history already and N96 won by mile"
The Samsung is equal to or better than the N96 at video, it is available with the same memory (16GB + microSD expansion), runs the same OS and will play all the same video formats as the N96 on a screen exactly the same size, the Samsung also has a faster processor and bigger battery which helps with playback.
The only thing that is different is the TV tuner on the N96, which only works in limited areas where the network supports it.
