Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Don't you recognize the first Symbian phone made by Ericsson, the one all Symbian phones followed, it took Nokia 8 years to come up with a touch screen (5800) and that was only after the iPhone.
A lot of of Nokia fans keep going on about how important camera size is, until better one's come along, then all of a sudden it's not so important.
It's like they are brainwashed by Nokia marketing.
I don't know if you have the same ads on TV, the N96 one's here have something about "the web in your hand", well Nokia I've been doing that for 9 years on many different phones, it's not new although you try to claim it is.
to anybody havin volume trouble turn off 3d tones there is a update due soon to fix this problem
Bakekang, 29 Oct 2008I'm not a Samsung fan. I'm a Nokia fan. I used to like Nokia's NSeries phones. But I think the... moreWhat innovation? It didnt bring anything new to the table. It wasnt the first 8mp camera to get announced. Its just a combination of the latest high end features.
One thing i do know is that all n-series phones always bring something new to the table.
N96-power saving hardware, n78-fm transmitter, n85-dual slide with multifunctional keys, n79-xpress on covers with automatic theme change, etc. They may not all be the most stricking features, but at least they speak of serious fun.
I can put the innov8 against an n79 and the only thing it has over n79 is the extra 3mp, more memory and a bigger screen. The n79 on the other hand has an fm transmitter, xpress-on covers with automatic theme change, better battery and is much more compact. The innov8 just brings upgrades of both the good and the bad. More megapixels, more memory, bigger size, better sound quality, bigger weight, etc, but no new feature.
You know i am from DHAKA thet guy from DHAKA tooo well he has THE BBBEEESSSTTT comment about THE N-96 so wat if it looks like toy dont you people know that looks can be decieving and for the people who bought the phone the ones who kept on complaining again band again about the ringing tone volume well a word of advice you guyzzzzzzzz should have tested it there without wasting your money on it nwayzzzz I BOUGHT THE PHONE AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT I LOVE IT and also i've been using nseries for a very long time and i don't plan on stopping anytime soon so i hope all u nseries users and lovers could only see through my eyes and love the phone as much as i do.THANKYOU for taking time from your busy schedule to read my little message folks

"Nokia have their own marketing strategy and that is making ways for the mass market to experience their best features at reasonable price."
Reasonable price? The N96 is one of the most expensive phones.
"Innov8 is not revolutionary rather because it doesn't offer something different, it just upgrade what Nokia has and its getting cold treatment from consumer since the upgrade just adds up to the price."
Yeah just like Nokia N-series, upgrade from this:-
(Apart from the touchscreen that is, until the 5800)
"you a falling into the megapixel myth, it is all about the lens and the focal lenth."
Yeah Josh, that's why the iPhone is better than the N96.
The most expensive "MEMORY". It is very bad, the slide is awful, and the buttons too.
guyz who has a nokia n96? i've had it for 2days and i just realised now that i cant take the ringer volume up, it ringz like its almost on mute for all profiles and i've tried everything. who can help?

Omnia have winmo on board so its not superior in general sense.
Can you download the PC suite for the N96 for Windows 2000? Can't find it anywhere....
Anonymous, 28 Oct 2008Dont pretend that the innov8 is a pot of gold. Only a true user will tell you about its drawba... moreI'm not a Samsung fan. I'm a Nokia fan. I used to like Nokia's NSeries phones. But I think the new batch of NSeries device is pointless and disappointing, N96, N85, N79. They are just carbon copy of N95 8Gb, N95, N82 respectively. I have neva noticed Samsung before but Samsung wins my heart this time because of INNOV8 and OMNIA. I think the successor of N95 should've been INNOV8 and not N96. Gone are the days when Samsung used to make lousy phones. Now they are more competitive enough to dethrone the king. Their latest phone models are really impressive especially that flagship 8MP multimedia powerhouse, 5MP touchscreen smart/PDA phone, 8MP touchscreen dumb phone, 5MP OLED display-equipped Symbian smartphone and many others. Samsung is now really leveling with Nokia. And it's a wake up call to Nokia to start doing something better. Because they are trailing behind Samsung this time when it comes to innovation.
i work in a tech support group and the phone is a complete pile of ****, the phone is really slow, the camera is awefull, if u purchase a vodafone branded phone u will not be able to send txts as the clever people locked the wrong center number to the phone, the battery life is ****, its look reminds of a childs play phone, with its tacky silver plastic edges.....come on people, who really wants this crap!
Nokia N96 Really a goog phone
i live this phone verymuch

had this phone since day one. Getting rid of it tomorrow. No signal, no volume on ringtones. Nokia can't help me. They don't care. Getting htc tytn. May come back to nokia one day. Had nokias for years but this has knocked my confidence in them way down.
This phone is great & great-looking.The GSM Arena guys are stupid if they think this phone is ugly. It's light, the screen is gorgeous and the audio quality is superb. The camera is good obviously there are better ones but it's better than most and the camera button is easy to use ,not extremely difficult. The processing speed is better than the the N95 and even when it's completely full with music it still moves smoothly.
The slide is smooth and all the keys are easy to press. The interface is nice and it's just super-stylish.
There are some problems as with ANY phone like:_
> the battery life isn't great if you use the phone continously especially music player
> the screen and keys beneath it are smudge magnets :-(
> it doesn't charge when connected to the PC
> the PC connect port isn't covered (dust)
These are minor problems so quite simply it's a GREAT PHONE!
getting shot of my N96 tomorrow. No signal. No sound from ringtones. Waste of time. Getting an htc tytn. Looks great. Fast. Does everything I want. Can't wait. Hope you all have better luck than I did with this phone.
