I am looking for PDA phone from Nokia, Which model is recommended. How about N96?
If someone come out and say samsung music quality is the best because of their DSn blur blur technology, I want to lol. I am not nokia fan, but I use SE, nokia and samsung ph, plus I and my friends got few mp3 players of sony, samsung, i pod etc. Samsung provide many control in their mp3 players but simply lousy in quality.
To the person who is asking if there is a Nokia phone that specializes on Music and Camera, there is no such Nokia phone currently. There is a Nokia phone that specializes on Music and Gaming and that's N81/N81 8Gb. N96 specializes on TV & Video playback. There is a phone that specializes on Music and Camera but it's not a Nokia phone. It's Samsung INNOV8. Even though INNOV8 lacks hardware music keys, it still beats any other music phones when it comes to audio quality. INNOV8 has DNse 2.0, Samsung's very own sound technology. It's the best currently. I don't know how Nokia can match this.
Anonymous, 26 Oct 2008If the n96 was made for video, then why is the 5800xm excel better in this department? It has... moren96 is made for tv and video. it has a deskstand, 2.8 inch display, dedicated video processor for great video quality playback.
I see not major functionality upgrade compared to my good old N95. Honest company would have called it N95 2.0 and would not charge $700 for a face lifted oldie. I suppose I'll use my N95 until rails fall off and it splits in two, then Nokia might have something to offer in this segment.
If the n96 was made for video, then why is the 5800xm excel better in this department? It has a much bigger and better screen, a better cpu, it comes with a desk stand and has a much juicier battery, yet it costs less than half of what n96 costs. I dont understand it. Or is it the TV receiver that makes n96 video oriented?
i have had this phone and its ok to a standed the phone is not very good for everyday use has the battery dont last long if you'r playing with it all the time has my 7yr old plays with it all the time
Anonymous, 26 Oct 2008lol u a gal,u must b a major nokia fanim a proud Nokia Supporter dude!
i havent found a mobile company yet that can surpass d quality, durability and customer support than Nokia can offer.
somehow im at ease owning Nokia devices as they have d best after sales support, the most number of software innovations that caters to uplift customers way of life. nokia service centers everywhere, nokias numerous websites for information and product enhancements, nokia maps, wellness diary, sports tracker, nokia vine, ovi and a whole lot more!
Thats my Nokia!
I find it a decent phone, but why on earth did nokia not stick to the mini usb port as on the n95?.I find my phone freezes momentarilly bt a software update should sort this out,as it cant be a shortage of memory mine has 24gig in at the moment(wrong I know)but its a memeory sick for my work tansfer
i dont tink thers ne fone out ther dat wudnt giv u a problem at sum point
the N96, looks good with its black and silver curves, finally a phone that has a good rep and now decent looks. Picked 1 up a week ago, already been replaced as the more i loaded up the 16gb int memory the slower it got, taking 10secs just to bring up typing screen on reply to a text for inst. Eventually it froze at an inconsiderable 8pm, 3 days and 1.5gb int mem use later. Network provider advised a soft reboot but lost all my uploaded phone memory(well p****d off)as phone appeared to format its own memory on swithing on, got phone replaced next day no prob, same prob with use of internal memory though! Moved all data to memory card and phone whizes thro menus like it should!
Q. Why have 16gb int mem available to use at the cost of taxing the already slow processor(installed to preserve battery life) to the point of shutdown?
I'm in the process of exchanging handsets completely through original retailer or cancel contract within my 14 day period and picking up a proper 'all in one phone' with a much smaller internal memory and a standard 8gb micro-sd external memory, the swedes may have been the forerunners with mobile phone technology in the past but now they have definitely been left to grow in the fields-LG KC910 is my desire, no sluggish windows, no labyrinth like symbian, no glithes with trying to be something its not. Lets Go digital!!!!
SP, 26 Oct 2008I totally agree with you mate. The N96, N85 and N79 are not as good as the previous N-Series i... moreTrue, but i think n79 is an exception in this case since candybar phones are never the forefront of technology.
As far as the users have reported, it doesnt have any software issues experienced on this year's n-series phones. It looks like a cuter version of n82 which is nice. Its picture quality is better than n96 and is on par with 6220c. If you arent a gaming or video fanatic, there's no reason to get n85 or n96, plus its got a few neat features that might make the n82 and n79 a little jealous.
Freshprincess, 24 Oct 2008I don't give a hoot what y'all say. I'm goin to be forever inlove wv Nokia fones. I mean...wha... more@ Freshprincess: Dude, Please tell your Nokia to build some more Music+Camera Phones ...
Their Camera & music is not fine ... and they are moving to other stuff like WiFi, GPS, etc...
Sounds like someone got graduated before finishing Primary School ... Woah! It Sucks bigtime!
At least get the basics (Camera+Music) right, will ya ??? Then move on to any feature ... That's why, despite owning Nokia only, I like Samsung ...

Bakekang, 24 Oct 2008N96, N85 and N79 are quite disappointing products from Nokia. These are just more or less exac... moreI totally agree with you mate. The N96, N85 and N79 are not as good as the previous N-Series i.e. N95, N95 8GB and N82.
To be honest, the best Nokia phones in the market right now is N82, N95 8GB, N95, E71 and E66. I hope the 5800 Xpress Music can join this elite group.
The N96 if at all is probably the only I'd give a second look. N85 and N79 are completely washed out to be honest. Looks too childish and pricey! Other options, wait for SE X1 (Xperia) which hopefully will be a tough competitor.
Cheers ...
