I'm getting one on Octomber 24. It's going to be better than any Apples or Googles with their stupid data and texting plans. Dont make me laugh about Samsung who waits for all the companies to release their cellphones and try to copy everyone. My eye can't tell the difference between a 5mp and 8mp camera.
I got the phone the other day and I dont care what other people say, all I can say is this phone is AWSOME everything is good about it,
ps: dont listen to the wingers on this site if you like it get it.
Y cant people kip their opinion 2 themselves.who gives a f**k wot they tink. N96 is a nice piece of work, xcellent fone.mayb u guys r jst broke, hence letting ur emotions cloud ur sense of reasoning. N95 8G ? Uhh!
I bought the n96 a day after its uk launch,
my first thoughts were that it looks brilliant but as i started using it all i could find was fault after fault.
Firstly the buttons below the screen (especially the right side back/exit button)
feel and sound cheap, everytime i press the buttons i hear squeaky noises - so no marks for quality
Secondly i thought being the new media phone with all the entertainment system in you pocket etc hype i thought plaving video clips in avi format using divx player would be of no problem, boy was i wrong, n73 can play divx files smoother and clearer let alone the n95.
Thirdly the dvb-h feature doesn't work in the UK yet thats the main feature that is supposed to keep this in-line for the best smart phone position in-comparison with the samsung.
Fourthly it boasts 128MB RAM, 256MB storage memory, Dual ARM 9 264 MHz CPU, then why isn't it as fast as my standard N95???
those are just some of the bad points and faults you will encounter "if you are a lucky N96 owner"
the good points:
the looks especially if u dont pick it up!!
the breathing light on the (fake)navi wheel
the lights on the second slide play/pause etc buttons
the screen size
the camera even after zooming it stays at 5mp while the n95 reduces its megapixels
the memory storage space
i just get n96 today...i m loving it...the sound quality is good..it is very loud...and the keypad is comfortable to press...so it should not hav problem when sms...dun trust other say that the phone is low quality or bad,coz they dun hav afford to buy it, so just saying it is bad...
What is really amazing is that you could get n96 replica dual sim even before n96 gets official. Search on youtube, you'll be amazed. The replica is identical to n96 plus the "dual sim" feature at very convenient price. Nokia N96 is a "funny phone" for "Buggs Bunny" like people. Replica phone or replica company? Nokia?
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2008I upgraded from my old N95 to Samsung i8510. Definitely chose the right handset. Usual teethin... moren96 z realy captivating ........eazy 2 use .....nd z realy hot enough 2 have 1 for hanging out with friends
Most of the features of this phone is degraded.
from the battery life to the processor.
everything.
and nokia call this a TOP OF THE LINE of all Nseries?
I don't think so.
Expensive, definitely it is. I'm willing to spend money for something that is worth of spending for.
Spending money for this phone is absurb.
I'll just go for Nokia N95 Series.
Who ever says this is a stupid phone really has some problems, this phone's intended use is music video and tv where it can play up to 14 hours. the phone is made for efficiency.
wel i must say n96 not that good ppl were looking for the next top phone and hoped that nokia would have out smarted samsung i guess not,wel all i can say is that the e90 and n95 was most probley designed by a woman but shure do believe that the n96 was designed by a men. damn females do know a work of art, hell no man dont know anthing of quality.
Anonymous, 08 Oct 2008haha! this is the most criticized latest nseries phone. more people don't like it than love it... morethey critized it coz they do not have enough money to buy that expensive mobile.they r just discouraging future buyers like me.bwahahahaha!!!wait for me to re-logged in with my n96 to share with u all punks out there!
haha! this is the most criticized latest nseries phone. more people don't like it than love it. it's no wonder, more people are buying samsung innov8 than n96 even if innov8 costs a little more bucks. n96 is a mistake. they should've released it in early 2008. because today, it's kinda outdated already. months after, maybe early january 2009, nokia's 8mp flagship phone will soon be announced and n96 users will soon regret they have spent a lot of money for this buggy, outdated phone.
people on here that say it looks crap and there not going to get are normally the people that couldnt afford one even if they want one. From hands on experience i have yet to fault the n96
Nokia N95 8gig is much cooler looking than this one. My friend sold his n96 immediately before it depreciates. He said that the screen is much clearer on N95 8gig and the feel of the phone is so plasticky. Camera performance is much worse than earlier 5meg Nokias, the image quality and the shutter button is a mistake.
I feel that the music controls on the d-pad made the dual slide design redundant. It just made the symbian key and cancel key so little and hard to press.
