I think between 8MP and DVB-H, it is DVB-H which is not necessary. It's a feature that nobody is interested at all. Look at the forums everytime a 8MP camera phone is announced and how it stirs everyone's attention. And look at N96 forum and you can only count in your palm's fingers how very few people mentioned of that DVB-H. Infact, not too many people even understand what DVB-H is. It's a technology that will never get popular, and so is N96. Samsung INNOV8 is much better. I mean, a lot better. By the time Nokia releases its 8MP N97, Samsung INNOV8's price has already dropped down substantially.

I had the N96 for more than a week now, I love and hate it.
Hate :
Messaging is laggy, sometimes it takes a few tens of seconds before I can reply.
Changing Menu from Grid to V, Horseshoe or List, then I cant change it back, I have to reboot the phone.
Installing MSN, it tell me system files are already installed. Now, MSN is disappeared from Download.
N-Gage is not pre-installed.
Camera is mediocre, N78 3mp camera is actually better.
DVB-H is useless if your country is not ready or does not support it. Or worse, your country support it but not your Telco.
Keypad is good for texting but it doesnt feel stable, starts creaking.

The design grows on me, it just keep looking better.
Sounds quality from headphone is very nice !
Sounds from speaker are good too but not as loud as N95/N95 8GB.
I hope Nokia will provide a new software update soon to fix some of its bugs.
Now I'm thinking of selling my N96 for INNOV8 instead.

Is it because of 'world economic meltdown'?
The press release reads "It said it expected the mobile device market in 2008 to be hit by weak consumer confidence in many markets and also cited tough competition in developing markets, its stronghold."

Nokia had forecast already, they wont reach their expected growth in sales due to world economic meltdown, but they are earning not like Motorola and Sony Ericsson who are losing.
Samsung brought down the prices of its low end phones just to break even because if they dont, they will have a negative income by third quarter as well and they know that its not a long term solution. thats according to Forbes
This the reason why high price phone due to over stuffed features that regular people dont need like innov8 wont sell. what people will look into is the best value mobile devices with all in one feature and N96 will come to mind among consumers. well N85 will post a big challenge to.
So who has the best marketing plan as of the moment, Nokia does..

Nokia has it's own strategy to keep the price stable. With all these years they have come to a point where they didn't fear that people will stop buying Nokia because of it's price. There are many who buys Nokia just because its 'Nokia'. But they are going to pay a price this time, as the market is becoming too competetive for them in the low-end segment. Nokia won't be able to hold 40% market share by end of the this quarter.

hey,look for n97..? iuuhhh..n97 concept are s0 not..look at d'design..it's s0 ugly..it's n0t nokia's standart..
and bout n98..it's look like 8600 lunaa c0ppy cat..and i think..nokia 0t gonna make a big mistake like that...h0w can, phones with 7,2mp camera..but theres n0 hardisk..
and for n99..just dreamin..the form are n0t friendly..and n0t nokia's standart..it's s0 unbelievable..
and as we can see..the three of the c0ncept phones above are not officialy by nokiaa..but just from another web..

There is nothing to beg anyone to buy Innov8. Why should one? "Smart people' make wise decision when it comes to upgrade or a purchase.
And lastly what "competitive" price are you talking about??? Today N96 costs 969USD. Innov8 costs is a bit more right now. Those who doesn't want to compromise on features and wants the best would not hasitate to spend few bucks more. And by the way it's going to be cheaper than n96 very soon.
Seems you are running out of facts dear. take a deep breath, Calm down..take some medication if required please.

I heard that the N96 had some software problems, it is too slow like N81 and other N series phones. Please update me on this.

You're changing stories. Infact, all Nseries phones, except N91 and N93, are made of cheap plastic materials that wobbles, creaks and breaks easily. Nokia's sliders are nothing compared to Samsung sliders. Their very latest N96 can't even compete with a 3-year old Samsung D900 when it comes to smooth slide mechanism. Look at all Nseries and compare them with Samsung Ultra, U900 and the like in looks and materials used. You'll see how elegant and high class Samsung phones are when compared to Nseries phones.

N96 is a contender for N95 upgrade, its a total well rounder at a very competitive price. only smart people recognize this c", are you?

Nokia Neva said the N96 was an upgrade 2 the N95 8GB.......its an ALTERNATIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted 2 purchase the N95 8GB yet i didnt coz i needed more space.....so The N96 is an ALTERNATIVE.........Nokia realised that peaople are different so in order 2 suit the needs of numerous people and meet there charector standards in wat phone they should use, they produce a number of models with similer features for u 2 choose from.....that way they meet ur perdonal needs.....!!!!So if u dnt like the N96 that means it wasnt ment 4 you......Your baby is being Made by Nokia as we speak. So leav the N96 Alone....!!!!!

I do not understand why Nokia release N96 when they are releasing a better version N85 next month. What Nokia is thinking? Even N85 is not such great upgrade since it seems like you holding N81. I wish Nokia start making real phone and start listining and keep up with technology. We have not seen one phone from Nokia yet that is able to be touch screen. I keep waiting but do not see anything officaly announce by Nokia.

i don't think that's a worthy upgrade from n95 8gb. n96 is an alternative of n95 8gb, not necessarily an upgrade. since it's camera has been downgraded in terms of technical specs. the upgrade is like your adding something new. 16gb is not really an upgrade since if you have a n95-1, you can put on a 16gb card in there once such card is released. upgrade is like n70 to n73 to n82, or upgrade can also mean n80 to n95, n93 to n97 (not yet announced). n95 8gb to n96 is like n93 to n93i, or n91 to n81. that's not an upgrade. that's an improvement over the previous model.
