This phone should have released 6 months ago. Too much competition these days. And for the high price Nokia set for this baby? I will pass and purchase the Samsung i8510 innov8 with 8mp camera and better built quality. I hope Nokia's next multimedia mobile phone offering would be ground breaking like the N95 was, and not like a small upgrade like N96 with a 600 euro price tag.
The only reason I didnt buy N95/8gb is bcoz of its design. N96 is complete ph for me. You should not say there is not much difference between 95 and 96. The MOLD has totally changed. Like new car model with same spec as old model. I've preordered it and will arrive in 2 days time. So many ppl buying this ph without looking at price.
Cheese,
May i know if this phone is laggy or freeze? i heard ppl saying when smsing it is laggy. true? Thanks.

Kal, 10 Sep 2008I'm talking about Innov8 and n-series. not all samsung in general. The word that samsung is us... moregreat that you recognize that its a matter of choice. and people in this post have their choice, its just that innov8 didnt matter to me, to us, as well as most of the people in the mobile world thats why innov8 is not making any buzz or noise like N96 does.
proof? you, coming here to bash haha
anyways ask everybody you meet if they are to choose between an 8MP camera or a TV with a vintage 5MP Carl Ziess on a mobile? I guess you know the answer already.
Good Luck c",

viktor, 10 Sep 2008I wanna ask about DVB-H.Ihave N95 8gb and only thing that N96 has extra is DVB-H and 16 gb.how... moreDVB-H works only in Vietnam, Taiwan and South Korea. In the Philippines, it's on the testing ground. So if you don't live in Vietnam, South Korea and Taiwan, there's no point in getting this phone just for DVB-H alone.
I wanna ask about DVB-H.Ihave N95 8gb and only thing that N96 has extra is DVB-H and 16 gb.how can I use DVB-H?does it work in all countries?which TV stations can I watch?I live in Macedonia so I wandered will DVB work here?thanks
is it just me or does this fone look alot like n81 8gb....nokia couldnt create any new ideas?
..and now they are expecting to loose market share. Even in low-end market they are having tough time.

Kangaroo, 10 Sep 2008if the samsung is that good why have the people who wrote the review in the link you have give... moreI don't think you have read it. When something Superior comes in the market people who are reviewing it, they will of course try and test that against the best in hand which was so far N95 8gb. And the end result is, Innov8 came out way better than N95, N95 8gb and N96.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I'm talking about Innov8 and n-series. not all samsung in general. The word that samsung is using "low-grade material" is completely wrong. They use better matterial than Nokia. Few exceptions are ofcourse the 8800 series. It takes time of a brand to be called 'durable'. Nokia didn't reach to that point overnight.
If you argue that innov8 is only Superior in its image department then one might say the only thing that N96 has is DVH-TV support which is not a very popular feature to begin with. But again it's your personal choice. For the vast majority DVH-TV support doesn't make huge difference.
hold your breath! nokia is set to announce, if i'm not mistaken, the first handset running on s60 touch user interface and equipped with "VGA" screen. mark your calendar, october 2nd is the date.
Agree with anonymous on the N85. will consider buying that too when launched. I bought N96 because of bigger screen, DVB-H support and it's looks and because it's a Nokia.
Can't agree on the Innov8, until Samsung pulls itself together on firmware and software supports. otherwise it will only be a regular 'high spec'phone, marginally better than C905 from SE o LG's 910.
I am a bit of a purist, for digital shot I have the Canon EOS1D Mk3, for portable music, I have the ipod touch 32GB. both of which is virtually unsurpassed in photography and music reproduction. And for mobile phones, I choose Nokia N and E series.
for me, the current best smartphones recently announced are the n85 for mid-to-high end category and samsung i8510 innov8 for high end category. a big NO to n96. basing on the several reviews i read, i think n96 loses to n85 and samsung innov8 in many accounts. here's a run down:
-n85 has better build quality than n96. n85's plastic surface is glossy but not prone to scratches & fingerprints.
-n85 has better screen technology that offers better viewing experince - color contrast, sharpness, brightness, viewing angle, legibility under sunlight. n96 has larger screen but has worse picture quality.
-n96 has dual processor but scores the least in performance and speed. n85 has only a single core processor, same processor as n78 but is engineered to perfection in terms of performance and speed.
-although same 5mp camera, n85 has better image quality than n96 and n85's camera has a focal length of 5.45, n96 has 5.2
-n85 has fm transmitter that can be used anytime, anywhere. n96 has dvb-h receiver that is not widespread and only few countries support.
-n85 has up to 30 hours of music playback. n96 has up to 12 hours of music playback.
-innov8 has better camera, better sound quality, better processor, and better build quality than n96.
