I think I'm Ok for now using N95 8gb and just wait for NOKIA's really high-end unit (touchscreen like most of SE models). It's a waste of money to have N96 which is almost the same with N95 8gb. NOKIA - we need something really exciting not all N-series are the same, it's boring already.
I totally agree with rixwyn, if this phone had touchscreen and a better battery, it would be the "Perfect Gadget"
i suggest you wait for the 3rd gen apple iphone or the 2nd gen nokia 5800xpressmedia aka tube.i think over a year these phones will be great as the competition would have heated up therefore they will have great features.in other words save your cash for a year
WOW...such a great phone, but talk time only 3hr 40m?!?!? Ouch, i mean imagine taking it out for pictures, some videos, GPS for directions for a bit, Maybe even listen to music for a while (with the 16GB), & of course to mention talking on the phone with some frds...AND before the end of the day, the battery is DEAD. That would be kinda Lame and Embarrassing for having a so-call King of Phone. I have used the 6110 Navigator before, not that high-end, but used with GPS and only 2mp camera and normal flash, the battery is DEAD already within a day. Imagine this N96 with all THAT feature and screen...i guess u know what i mean...=)
n95-8gb is better
I can't wait to read more about this phone's performance. I want to upgrade to this phone from my N95 8gb. I am not happy with the N95's looks and build. This one looks better than the N95, plus it has a bigger internal memory and you can even add another 8gb card, WOW. Also, it has a better led flash, and a stand. I also think that this phone has a little bit better web browser specs than the N95. But what I really want to know is, if it's better build than the N95. Because if it's still creaky and lose like the N95, I'll keep my N95.
i used N95 8Gb, feel good, battery can last more than 1 day, but i saw N96 is only 950mah, nokia must give more large capacity battery for that smart phone, then we can use that function given, if cant last, what for they put so many function to this phone....
actually we need touch screen of this model
bcoz windows mobile is a hardware-hungry (processor, RAM, battery et al) operating system. IMHO, d windows OS (up to now) s not suitable for mobile phones but for laptops, so if u r goin to buy a winMo powered phone, better buy a great phone w/out dat OS and buy a laptop instead (UltraMobilePCs r becoming more affordable these days). jus my opinion..
N96 is a kind of attractive phone that i've never seen before. but normally Nokia always run with os symbian, why doesn't nokia try with "Window mobile"?
it says post your opinion so i will,,ok back to 950ma battery again no good nokia you no that...plus person on about touchscreen,,nokia will not launch this till they have got it working to their satisfaction..
Just cause its got 16gb thats not a reason to upgrade from n958gb or n82 neither is the dvb-h as its not available in uk plus you go back in reverse in battery power,,how long will that power the tele because out of dvb-h and usa mediaflo dvb-h is power intensive app..All nokia have done is matched the i-phone for memory but in return sacrificed battery which today is the complained about thing in portable devices? so not a good phone overall
why they didn't put touch screen on this phone.....if this phone was made with touch screen i could say that was perfect phone........but without touch scren is another s60 phone with new "thinks" and big screen.....waiting for samething new from nokia........
why they made it similar to n81? and i want to know how much it will cost? when it will be out in the market? coz dude i cant wait anymore to have it in my hand!!!!!!!!!!
well, all i cn say is that n96 is far more better and really this is the first time that i can watch my favorite tv show even away from my home. good work!!!!!!!!
The functions are good but similar to n95 with some extra, battery?why 950mAh? Oh come on,also i don't like the design
It is difficult to get my posts gazetted but let me keep trying! There has been a healthy debate on the SE X1 thread concerning the fact that although phones such as N96 and N82 camcord in VGA,30fps they are unable to display VGA res on their screens because they are QVGA. The result is that the user cannot fully enjoy device recorded videos.
Furthermore, graphs, tables and charts will not be as sharp on a QVGA screen compared to VGA or WVGA.
I respect Nokia for bringing acceptable camcording to mobile phones while other companies sat on their backsides!
It is time for Nokia to take the helm again and implement VGA res on their top large screen (ie 2.8 inch and over) models. The benefits of sharper videos, graphs, tables, charts, text and images are worth it. Nokia should not let SE steal their thunder. Afterall SE have not produced even one VGA,30fps phone before the X1. Now they want to take all the glory when it was Nokia who made it available in various devices.
Note that although the N96 has DVB-H, not everybody can enjoy it. DVB-H will not be coming to the UK until 2012.
Whereas a VGA screen can be enjoyed by all.
i want to know the price of it and i like nokia bcause it more functin and look cool i can do more thing than SE and MOTO
Nokia is the best :-)) !!1
