why some lame people don't go to iphone 3G there and said:
"I hope apple learned its lesson from iphone. But I guess, they did not. iphone was belatedly released, thus, it is no longer competitive as opposed to its competitors in the market. For iphone 3G to be the next flagship, they should have included at least an 8MP camera, xenon flash, TV just like N77 and N96, and java. It's really a shame that APPLE did not do so. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY"
ramr, 04 Dec 2008I hope Nokia learned its lesson from N96. But I guess, they did not. N96 was belatedly release... moresob, your excuse SO DANNM LAME

I hope Nokia learned its lesson from N96. But I guess, they did not. N96 was belatedly released, thus, it is no longer competitive as opposed to its competitors in the market. For N97 to be the next flagship, they should have included at least an 8MP camera, xenon flash, TV just like N77 and N96, and N-GAGE 2.0. It's really a shame that Nokia did not do so. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.
they can't make any excuse to critic N97 so they use 8MP to critic N97 don't have 8MP camera but 5MP
mn%P, 04 Dec 2008Hey the phone's probably ok but there's no point in voting for a phone that hasn't been releas... moreMP doesn't matter regardless of phone brand. Who's excusing Nokia here? The other brands fell prey to the MP race and released 8MP camphones 1st because they know most consumers are ignorant about digital imaging and know only megapixels and think MOAR MP==ALWAYS BETTAR!!11. The same way many ignorant people buy huge, heavy, gas-guzzling SUVs when they never go off-roading or why ignorant people buy the most expensive, power-hungry laptops when all they do with it is surf the Net or edit documents. LOL

I never said Nokia shouldn't make an 8MP camphone eventually. What I'm saying is based on the current state-of-the-art in image sensors. 8MP on those tiny camphone sensors is like 24MP on DSLRs, it's just waaay too much without the commensurate increase in image quality. Maybe if tomorrow somebody invents a 100%-coverage microlens with zero readout noise & active sensor cooling maybe we can all have 24MP camphones with great image quality up to ISO 102400 w/o flash then we can all dump our P&S digicams & DSLRs... ROTFLMAO

It's amusing how suddenly the number of megapixels doesn't matter when it's a Nokia but it does when it's another phone.
A phone is a phone, fanatics making stupid claims without justification is pretty annoying.
So does it have hardware graphics acceleration or not, do you think this is a move by Nokia, in recent models, to force people to buy N-Gage games?

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2008No mate, 5 megapixels is the optimum picked by biased Nokia fanboi's because that's all Nokia'... moreToo bad Mr. Brave Anonymous, my assessment is based on the image quality sample output of the 2-8MP cameraphones as covered right here on this site,n ot on blind fanaticism. Everybody agrees that the 2MP almost-camera on the HypePhone is crap compared to the 3-5MP images produced on the Sony-Ericssons, Nokias and Samsungs. The new 8MP cameraphones on the other hand look crap compared to the 5MP models, so no real gain there. So read up on digital imaging first before you spew further nonsense.
well done NOKIA N97
you have make a lot of stupid people jealous you again !! BRAVO
superb phone....xperia x1 killer
wat a memory,aroung 50gb...gr8 work nokia
iphone rates will hav to cum down after dis invention
hopefully by the time it comes out 32gb microsds will be out.. then we can have the godly 64gb experience
Yeah, I heard next year Asus would release a camphone with a Canon APS-C sized CMOS sensor with 15.1MP like that used on the Canon EOS 50D capable of shooting up to ISO 51200. It would also have an Nvidia 9800GTS 3D accelerator running at 2.5GHz with a 2GB frame buffer so you can play Crytek's Crysis on that tiny 3.5" widescreen for around ~8min. before the battery runs out...
That phone would shut the heck out of all the gadget collectors here I'm sure. =P
