pls how can i download dstv tv application on my N97?
pls i need fast help.
I'm from Iran.
My N97 Plays music only 14 or 15 hours. It's so much less than 40 hours mentioned in specification.
I just listen music and control it from handsfree and do not use screen.
so its battery should lasts much more time.
Anybody know where is the problem ?
what is the difference between resistive and capacitive touch screen?
it is the safest way to upadte your phone from nokia service center,no any risk involved at all. while updating process your data which saved in phone memory will be comletely erased. so go and update your phone from service center.
Rahul, 19 May 2010can u tell exactly hw did u do the update pls?
i am a new user of n97Hello, Rahul.
I downloaded the latest version of Ovi Maps with the free navigation from here: http://maps.nokia.com/ovi-services-and-apps/ovi-maps/ovi-maps-main
It's in the middle of the page. There's a button to click it to download it.
I set up my computer with Nokia Ovi Suite, so when I click on the downloaded file, it would automatically install it on my phone. I've installed many apps and depending on the app, the process may be different. I cannot remember exactly how I did it with Ovi maps, but I'm pretty sure that it would automatically install with the Ovi Suite, or there is an option in Ovi Suite to update it.
If you do not have Ovi Suite, you can copy it onto your phone and then run the file from your phone to install it.

Nokla anyone?, 18 May 2010Agreed with * v0XT U shud use 3310 instead, Anonymous ROHAN & abraham lincoln - upda... moreThe Ovi maps that came with the N97 phone required me to pay a subscription to use the driving navigation. Since it was built in, I had no reason to download anything. It wasn't until later that I downloaded the updated version of Ovi maps that had the free navigation.
Se guys here i em playing music on big N97 it's awesome for home media music player!!!
Agreed with * v0XT
U shud use 3310 instead, Anonymous

The N97 is an awful waste of money - it's slow, unreliable, ugly, poorly and cheaply designed and organised, and overall lazy. In a manner of speaking, it's the iPhone's contortionate retard little brother, who wants to follow in his footsteps. All apps are overpriced, stupid, slow, glitchy, and mostly useless; the 'Ovi Store' is complete and udder rubbish, so horribly arranged that finding apps takes even longer than downloading them (a painfully long process, even in reception hotspots). The screen has complete glare in sunlight, the touch interface is very temperamental, the supposedly huge memory space is swamped up in seconds, and the moment you upload one song to the phone, its already dismal performance is halved in speed. The maps application has a mind of its own, and not a very good one; the predictive text function in alphanumeric is less comfortable and much messier than cheesegrating one's own Akille's tendon, and in qwerty function, much worse. The qwerty keyboard lights up in the dark SOMETIMES - less often, however, than one of the phone's various design faults cause a complete crash and restart. The internet browser is a total pain - to access options, there's this stupid semi-transparent arrow symbol THING somewhere, and once you can eventually get your thumb on it, then from there all the lag and crash issues begin. I often find myself restarting the phone because there's no way to close the floating pop-ups flashing "GIANT TITTIES HARDCORE ANAL PORN TITS" at me while I'm trying to show my seven-year-old cousin how to use google on a 'phone'. Won't load anything with flash player, and you can't download it. Movie playback is ... Oh, screw even mentioning that. The battery! The bloody battery! Complete turd, it lasts a few hours at best on full charge. The battery cover is a superthin plastic pop-in sheet, and if that comes off - which it will - the battery is long gone, because it's not secured by anything. Camera is dodgy usually. Video recordings suck, sound quality is vomitworthy. Phone calls, the primary function of a phone, have been shamefully ignored by whatever idiotic quality assurance team Nokia hired - the maximum volume of the reciever can't be distinguished over a nearby sparrow's fart, let alone city noise. The loudspeaker function screws up calls and chops reception somehow. Computer software! It's absolute junk! Slow, space-consuming, pointless, glitchy, and deleted from my computer many of the songs i tried to put onto this abyssmal excuse for a phone. Also, often the screen will lock and NEVER UNLOCK, until the battery is removed. In fact, this is just the first quarter of the list of faults i can name for this phone ... Ah, stuff it, i'm going to buy an iPhone and run this hideous soapbar-sized calculator over on my way home.
