N97 is much stable with new firmware version 2.0 (Latest v21.0.045):
- Navigates much faster
- Kinetic scrolling improves the overall usability very much
- Touch screen is much more sensitive (Although it still requires a little pressure due to resistive touch method)
What to expect for improvement:
- Image zooming is still painfully slow
- Kinetic scrolling on the menu & Add Content screen are not smooth compare to the rest
- A much faster Accelerometer
- Transition effect for Accelerometer

Now you can help me out.If you have music on your N97 where do you get it from?Limewire. If so does it cause you any problems with your phone.
Hi what is FM transmitters and what is its usage? How does it works. Can anybody help me out with this?
HI I want to purchase new phone but I m confusd while selecting the phone, the options are N900, N97, N97-Mini and E72.
The problems in my mind are "N900 is not symbion so download options are not that much" then "Screen sensitivity of N97 is not good", "N97mini I dont know" and E72 is with small screen.
I need good suggession and sincere advise.. waiting for replies...
Aron, 06 Mar 2010Nokia N97 is a powerfull device which comes pre-installed with some commonly used application ... moreGood work Aron!
I addition to this, you may also consider uninstalling share location agent as even without that, map works fine.
Nokia N97 is a powerfull device which comes pre-installed with some commonly used application such as Facebook client, Qik, Joikuspot, Psiloc World Traveller, Boingo an some (usefull) apps. Unfortunately, all pre-installed apps have eat the internal memory (the C:\ drive!) of our N97 and make it slow and even freeze! Here are some useful tips to recover more space for our device:
1.Check SW Update and download Memory Reorganiser 1.0. I do not check any other available update because they will degrade the level of my memory seriously. Goto Application folder and find out application name Reorganis and then run it. It will run and try to reorganise our memory and it will uninstall itself after successful operation. Reboot your device, then run File Manager and see it!
2.Uninstall any unnecessary or unused application from your phone!. Go to Settings, Application Manager, Installed Apps. Find and delete as many application as you think they are not useful to you! For me, I deleted Facebook Installer (19 Kb), Facebook (1 Mb), Ovi Store Client (220 Kb), PsilocWorld Traveller (1 Mb), Reorganiser Uninstall (2 Kb).
3.Find out more, using Xplore I found these 2 files in c:\installation 1) MailForExchange_S60_5_0.sisx (1.72Mb); and 2) NokiaEmail_S60_5_0.sisx (2.38Mb) these 2 files will contribute at least 4 Mb of free space for your memory! If you are lucky you will find GuitarRockTour_Full_Nokia_N97_108.jar (1160 Kb). Try to search more hopefully you will find more files if you dig deeper in your phone memory.
4.To keep more memory for your C: drive, just install all softwares on E: drives (mass memory) however if you are going to use a particular theme or ringtones install it onto phone memory so the phone doesn’t switch to the default theme everytime you connect it in the ‘Mass Storage’ mode.
5.and try to delete the “Cache” and “dmgr” folder in C:/System (place where all files downloaded are stored).
6.You may also change your de fault ‘Messaging’ memory to either the 32GB inbuilt storage or a Memory Card. To do this, enter ‘Messaging’, hit Options>Settings>Other>’Memory In Use’.
7.Open the Ovi Store application settings and make sure it is set to install applications on your E: drive. To do this navigate to Options>Account>Settings>Installation Preferences.
8.If you use Nokia Messaging and MFE on your handset, or even have a normal mailbox configured you will be loosing phone memory pretty fast. The solution is to uninstall/reinstall or delete and reconfigure your mailboxes. This action will also give your phone more additionalmemory depending on your usage.
9.Last but not least, update your firmware! Sometimes, it will give your phone more functionality and perhapes more memory!
Hope this will help us to get rid of N97 memory problem!
I think that it is the best mobile yet to be seen. I hope that i can buy one too!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous, 05 Mar 2010Most dual phones especially nokia phones are chinese. When it comes to internet they are alway... moreyou kidding right? nokia phones always 3g since before the network know what 3g is , it depend on the network, for example the stupid AT&T is different than the whole world 3g , so you have to order nokia phone with (US Version) next to it, other than that it been always fast on 3g even more than the iphone with Wlan connected, GET A LIFE
i think this phone is excellent if u use all of its function, if buying the phone for one thing u like about it then dont because you wil proberly regret it
